One thing is for certain, Chad Ochocinco is staying busy during the NFL lockout.

The NFL receiver has entered into a contract to ride a bull during intermission of the Lucas Oil Invitational on Saturday at the Gwinnett Arena.

Ochocinco will attempt to ride the bull for eight seconds. He will receive $10,000, a Ford F-150 truck and a chance to rename the bull if he has a successful ride.

The 10-year NFL veteran and six-time Pro Bowler, had a tryout with Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer in

Ochocinco, who has been working out in Atlanta and running the track at the Marist School, started tweeting about riding a bull on twitter.com. Professional Bull Riders executive Sean Gleason issued him a challenge.

“(He’s) a gifted athlete, but bull riding is a much different sport and climbing on the back of a bull in the chutes takes a little more than Twitter confidence, let alone calling for the gate (to open),” Gleason said.

“Working out my bull riding contract,” Ochocinco tweeted on Wednesday.

The two-day event has 40 professional bull riders set to ride on Friday night.

The top riders will advance to the Saturday show which starts at 7 p.m.

Ochocinco will practice riding a bull on Friday and attend the event. Ty Murray, a nine-time world champion and Professional Bull Riding co-founder, has been assigned as Ochocinco’s personal coach.

“@TyPBR I’ll be in Duluth,GA. on Friday boss man,” Ochocinco tweeted to Murray on Wednesday.

The event will be televised on Versus at 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

For $10K and a truck?? He’s going to need that to pay for his medical bills. Good luck to him.

What if Ocho falls off and breaks his neck? This stuff is hard. I remember watching former Dallas Cowboys running back Walt Garrison do this back in the day.

The Ochocinco haters are odd. He is known as one of the nicest guys around, never ever gets in trouble with the law or even close to it and he actually smiles and has fun in life! What is wrong with any of that?

I have a feeling they are going to put him on one of the “tame” ones…really he is there to give pub to the sport and bring bodies in the seats…and he will do that.

I dont know what the odds are…..but I would bet he backs out last minute when its time to climb on the bull. I know i am usually down for some crazy s%^t myself; but i have a lot less to lose than him (financially) and I still wouldnt get on one of those gnarly beasts!

I smell a rat. Somebody better check and make sure it’s a real “bull” instead of a hefer with some horns glued on. He wouldn’t agree to do it if it were a real, angry, frustrated, mean, rodeo bull that wins the 8-second challenge the majority of the time against real cowboys.

Something’s fishy here.

Is bull riding the wisest thing to do considering what could happen and how that affects his ability to play football, whenever that may be?

I must bow down to Ochocinco if he goes through with it. I have never been one to back down to any challenge but it takes serious cojones to ride one of those animals. He is a true entertainer and there is nothing wrong with that.

The 85 haters aren’t hatin’ on Ochocinco b/c of what he does. They are hatin’ on him b/c of the color of is skin…and this is coming from a white guy in his thirties. He is the real deal and isn’t out to impress anyone; he is out to have a good time and doesn’t give a $h!t what anyone thinks about him. I would take him on my team in a heartbeat.

@AT says Chad is one of the nicest guys around
@JRHD says we are all just racists if we don’t like him.

Well, I don’t hate him but I do think he is a bit of a stupid goof. He changed his name to be his number on his football jersey in Spanish. But He GOT IT WRONG!!! He named himself “eight five” but his number is “eightyfive.” Spanish for eightyfive is “ochenta y cinco.” You would think a guy who is NOT a stupid moron would have at least learned how to say it correctly before he went to court and had a legal name change.

To recap: (for the JRHDs)
Eight Five = Ocho Cinco
Jersey reads 85 (pronounced Eightyfive)
Eightyfive = Ochenta y cinco

Here is a guy who can make millions playing football, risking life and limb to make 10 large and a pickup truck. He could get the football stomped out of him by a PBR type of bull. The bull doesn’t know he’s famous and doesn’t care.

Did anyone notice , he dosent have that awful “grill” on his teeth. While he’s not bilingual, that translation is pretty telling. I guess he considers himself an “entertainer” as a Cam Newton role model. I do not think he is stupid enough to risk millions for less than one % of his paycheck. He will bank the 10G with just a wave to the fans and get booed. Such a tough life!

I guess it would be too much to ask of this guy to be with the rest of his team in “unofficial” training camps in order to be ready to come back when the lock out is over. Idiot. I’m really hoping he does not come back to the Bengals, with all the problems we have, we need players who are serious about playing first and foremost.

I remember thinking one time that riding a bull was something I could do. Then one day I was at a rodeo and I slid on over to the bull pit and got close to one. That will take the fish out of your slap.

Here is to hoping Ocho breaks his cinco or better yet his big mouth.

I doubt he mounts the bull in the chute and the door opens.

Its just the way he rolls.
