This is barely a slideshow, much less a video.
A serious question for you M. Ledbetter, are they just drafting the best on the board with 5,6, and 7? Isn’t Coy Wire still on the roster? Are they really under the belief that Dent is going be some hybrid on the NFL level?
Oh, do you ever check your blog filters?

Wire received a new contract before the lockout began and will continue to contribute on ST. I think Dent will become a rotational back with Peterson while Nicholas will probably leave in FA.

Coy Wire and Stephen Nicholas are booth free agents. They needed some depth at the LB position and Dent has played inside and out.

Woops, Forgot the inked Wire to a 2 year deal. I guess not resigning Nicholas then.

Dent was a top 3 prospect at inside backer this year… most of the scouts had him at 2. and We need someone behind 5-0 and he played 3 years at olb for uga and is a beast in the run game… great pick for a 3rd round value

What’s the matter armchair General Managers? Can’t rip the pick because it’s a Bulldog, right? Go cuddel with you Glen Dorsey blow up doll.

So far I love both of our picks Julio Jones will make the offense much more explosive and Akeem Dent adds crucial depth at linebacker. Hopefully free agency will start soon so we can get a DE and a veteran corner.

Solid pick…in my opinion, we still need help in te defensive backfield, at TE (though I like Peelle long-term honestly), on the D-line, and a speedy running back.
Of course, we can still address some or all of these needs in free agency. I like this pick because it was great value and I expect Dimitroff to continue to do so.
Also it never hurts to pick local guys. Although I am a Tech fan, I appreciate picking up Bulldogs as well. I support all the state guys.

Didnt the Falcons just sign a veteran corner to a big deal about 12 months ago?

horrible pick. this guy doesn’t have the speed to play on the outside. he’s a middle linebacker but last time i checked we already some guy named curtis lofton. i guess when you draft special teams, backups in the 3rd round you might as well trade them all away. geez.
peele? really ramble? you sure do like mediocre backups. but then again your a tech fan so i guess your used to mediocrity.
April 30th, 201112:03 pm
I think Peelle is a good backup. You need two good tight ends for goal line situations. We do need someone capable of being a starter, which is what I am alluding to.
No need for the attack. Your life must be very sad judging on your constant need for negativity. Hope things get better for you.

stick with football. our #1 is 100 years old and will surely retire after this year assuming he makes it through the end of the season. peele is an average #2 te. more like a #3. patriots? now they have some good te’s.
if linebacker was a point of issue. then the birds should have drafted ayers. him, lofton and spoon make a very nice linebacking corps for the future.
then you still get a nice complimentary wr in the 2nd in either cobb or little.
and in the 3rd you could have grabbed clint boling. a much better today than clabo is at right tackle. this guy played just about every position on the line at uga except center and was the most consistent lineman during his 4 years. durable, smart and tough.
if the birds do that you save money on not paying a top ten pick, along with not having to resign clabo which allows you to spend more in free agency. i’m just really confused as to what the plan is here. the falcons have so many more holes than people would like to think.

Keep drafting SEC standouts!!!
April 30th, 201112:29 pm
So you’re really still just complaining about the Julio move.
Okay, I understand. You think we gave up too much. A reasonable concern.
But, I don’t think you realize just how much we stand to gain if he’s as good as Dimitroff thinks he is.
Suddenly Roddy won’t be double teamed. We also have a much better threat on the other side; a guy who himself who has always been double teamed, who suddenly for the first time in his career won’t be. Our passing game is immediately better. He is also a really good blocker. The running game is suddenly better, not only because we can stretch the field better but because Julio is making blocks downfield.
Also Gonzalez can get open in the middle more easily.
IF Julio pans out (and I know it’s a big if), our offense will go from good to outstanding. Yes, it’s a huge risk.
But I am glad our management is willing to take it.
April 30th, 201112:31 pm
Also, your assertion that Boling is better than Clabo is, at best, a complete guess. We have NEVER seen the guy face NFL competition.
Clabo is solid and VERY nasty.

I love the pics. Keep it up DT, the real fans support you. Just hoping there is football this season!

^&*( gawg fans……..every Falcon pick can’t come from uga. get real!!!
April 30th, 201112:45 pm
some of guys really crack me up. good one BEVO about the Glenn Dorsey doll. for those who didnt get it – Glenn Dorsey is the pick most of you knuckheads thought we should have made instead of Matt Ryan. most experts that year gave KC and A+ for drafting Dorsey and questioned the falcons for taking a QB. 3yrs later and even though J Long is a pro bowler even Parcells says he probably should have taken Ryan.
Most of you ARmChair GM’s don’t have a clue. Go Falcons !!!
and Leadbetter – u call that a video clip ?!

Has anyone caught on to the irony that Justin Houston ended up with the Chiefs?
May 3rd, 20115:14 pm
Wait a minute….. i know he wasnt drafted but what about MARCUS BALL…. he is a Safety and we all know our Falcons need help in the secondary. good job in the draft but lets be honest, do we expect “Dent” to help us stop the Packers who just threw the ball all over the city for 48 points???? we need help in the secondary and Ball was once a 2 time all-state, Parade All-American, and a decent college carrer by way of FSU, Pearl River CC, Univ. of Memphis!!!!
Lets get this guy into camp
