– Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez was in New York on Thursday to promote “Keep Your Grip Challenge,” an online video game sponsored by Vaseline MEN.
Earlier this offseason, he stated that he did not plan to retire as he’s set to make $5.75 million if next season is played.
However, he told Clifton Brown of The Sporting News that he would likely retire if next season was entirely lost to the NFL labor dispute.
However, he is confident that there will be a season. But if not, he’s ready to walk away.

Got this Tweet from Tony Gonzalez (@TonyGonzalez88) today:

Hey Guys I’m going to be on the NFL Network tonight from 3:30pm – 5pm (PST), check it out it should be a good time! (So that’s 6:30 to 8 p.m. for us EST folks.).

BIRDLAND

“Would I sit out a whole season and come back — probably not, honestly,” Gonzalez, 35, told Sporting News. “At this point, at my age, I don’t know if that would be smart of me to do something like that. But I’m enjoying the offseason, working out and preparing like I always do.”

“I think it might cut into camp,” Gonzalez said of the labor dispute. “Into the season, I doubt it. Who knows though? Hopefully we can get these issues resolved. The arguments from the owners’ perspective are a little outrageous to me. It’s the No. 1 game in the world. I think there are so many ways you could structure a deal. Maybe there are too many chiefs, not enough Indians. Maybe we should get one or two representatives from each side to hammer it out. But between the owners and the players, that’s a lot of different opinions and that’s why the process is going so slow. That’s why I don’t think it’s going to be resolved anytime soon. But I just don’t see an entire season being taken away. That would be sad. Not just for the players and the owners, but the fans.”

If I remember correctly the baseball strike was over the owners wanting salary cap and arbitration to be scratched. I side with the owners on both. Wouldn’t call that greed.

The Redskins have mentioned about geting rid of Chris Colley. He would be a great pick up for the Falcons.

Children crying tears of both sadness and pride in Northeast Japan as their parents go to work every day at the damaged reactors, poisoning their bodies irreparably and in many cases, causing likely death within months. It’s called duty.
When a media outlet tells me that NFL owners and players are going to do “whatever it takes” to bring us football next year, I want to vomit.

Falcons relax...

No.1 Tony G. isn’t retiring. He said he could play for another 3-4 years. Jerry Rice, T.O., Randy Moss ring a bell?? Heck, BRETT FAVRE kills that discussion. Tony gonzalez stays in excellent shape. One of the writers on nfl.com said that falcons fans should be happy because gonzalez is playing for another 2 years…THAT WAS BECAUSE FOR LABOR ISSUE THOUGH. Gonzalez is fine. He still had a good year. He can’t run like he used to but that doesn’t matter. Route running and separation is key. Rice wasn’t a fast guy but a possession receiver all those years. At 42 was still breaking young guys down. Im not too worried about this

DOL, to find Georgia’s best BBQ go to Jackson, GA, pass through town and follow the signs to Indian Springs State Park. Fresh Air BBQ is on the right not far out of town and before you reach Indian Springs. It has a sawdust covered front porch area and everything.

Geez, let us know when you are going. It always hurts to know someone else had it and I missed out. Get the Brunswick Stew as well. It is awesome!!

Orlando:

Do not know if you mentioned this but on CNN Saturday morning and repeated again at Sunday morning is a report on Shane Dronett by Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Basically, while Shane died of a self inflicted gun shot, the root cause of his death was chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). If you have time you can tivo it, and comment on it later on in your blog

Falcons need to draft either Lance Kindricks or Luke Stocker in 3rd round of this draft.

So was giving up a 2nd pick worth it?

I do believe it helped the Chiefs.

Newsflash !!!!!!
The work stoppage could push the entire NFL into retirement.
Fans everywhere are getting more and more sickened by these over bloated, over rated Millionaires.
In a few more weeks I couldn’t care less if the entire “Circus Act” went down the tubes……………………………and STAYED there !!!

Look there is a TE in this years draft that people are over looking Wesley Sanders from South carolina. He had issues last year but he will be a steel in the draft if a team will look past his short commings
