It won’t matter who the falcan’ts pick at 27, cause he’ll be a bust, as usual.

Lets pick the oldest college player available with the highest injury risk factor.

Just got back in from FLA, long road trip. We are in the same position we have been in for years addressing another pass rusher, this pressing need has plagued this team for years. Everyone is anointing Dimitroff & Smith geniuses, yet we have no playoff wins to show for it. It is not hard to realize that if we don’t come out of this draft with some type of playmaker on either side of the ball we will take that next step that the elite teams do every year. Fans say we are solid, but everyone thought the Cowboys were solid in the preseason

Just a thought, but, why not see if we can sign plaxico to a non-guaranteed, incentive loaded contract. For a guy that is gonna be hungry to play, and I believe he has learned his lesson, what a tandem they could form here in the A.

Ninja — Plaxico has worked with Mularkey before. Giants would have to cut him loose when he gets out of jail.

Ninja, Plaxico is just not the type of off the feild person the falcons sign. He getting up there in years, but as I say that I with you, if we got him on the cheap for 2 or 3 year deal he would be a good addition for the short term.

TO ALL the idiots that bad moth TD and Coach Smith, you must not remember all the horrible moves and season the Falcons have gone through for YEARS!!!!!!!!
The NFL is run for the most part by people much smarter than us and THEY ALL are praising TD and Coach Smith. Get real get a LIFE!!!!!!!! Give some praise where its DUE. P. Jerry got hurt and he did not re injure the say injury it was a fluke. He will be 100% this year and let hope AS A FAN!!! not a nasayer that he is a beast like he looked to be for the short time he was on the field.
Now with that said, TD please Find us a TRUE DE pass rusher this year. AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY Could someone please find out whats wrong with Larence Sidbarry.

Mr. Ledbetter,

Nice, informative report, but someone needs to work on both your video and audio quality. The interviewer looks and sounds like he’s in a studio setting (I’m sure he is) and you look like your video is being shot with a 20 year old analog camera and sounds like it is coming from a “Mr. Microphone” Toy.

I think you and your readers deserve a higher quality video/audio.

(Thanks Larry. I will talk to our video coordinator. -dol)

Blank will not sign Plaxico due to off-field issues. There are more options in the FA WR market.

This upcoming season will be most telling!

Either we take it to the next level or we just may have to accept the possibility that our GM and coaching staff are good, perhaps very good, but not an elite group. Remember, both our GM and Head Coach are holding such heavy responsibilities for the first times in their careers, and our Defensive Coordinator (my greatest concern) does not have a very distinguished resume and was nothing short of awful at Georgia Southern when given the opportunity to be a head coach.

I’m not intentionally taking a shot at anyone…just pointing out the simple truth that we just don’t know yet that this GM and Coaching staff can make the necessary personnel and pre-game and in-game decisions to win it all. The utterly embarrassing and humiliating way that Green Bay treated our team (in our house in our biggest game in many years–if not ever) has left many of us with a lot of questions and reasonable doubt.

How we lost to Green Bay was very, very, disturbing, especially by a defense that gives up 31/36 passing, 366 yards, 48 points, no punts, and, most discouragingly, completely quit after the opening 3rd quarter drive by Green Bay…none of the other final four losing teams, despite being significantly behind in the 2nd half, quit like the Falcons. They continued to fight and all three had legitimate chances to win–except the team that quit mid way through the THIRD quarter! This is the poorest of coaching and motivation!

This team’s No. 1 priority should be improving its pass rush. The NFC is filled with its share of great QBs. If we can’t apply pressure, we are dead. Plain and simple. GET A PROVEN DEFENSIVE END VIA FREE AFENCY. CHARLES JOHNSON, KIWANUKA, OR RAY EDWARDS!!! DO NOT TRY TO FILL THAT NEED AT 27. Draft Torrey Smith from Maryland or one of the corners from Texas or Colorado.

“This team’s No. 1 priority should be improving its pass rush.”

Beyond a shadow of a doubt!

This team can compete for a Super Bowl with it’s current offense (sure another WR, change of pace RB and maybe an upgrade or two on the OL would be helpful); this team will not get close enough to “smell” the Super Bowl with this defense.

I’d would devote every available dollar to the defense. The two teams that met in the Super bowl arguably had the two best playing defenses in the league in the playoffs–this is NOT a coincidence!

You’re right Larry, but the team that won had one of the most explosive offenses as well.

Over and over the same uninformed and lacking of intelligence comments. Have you falcons fans forgotten that Peyton Manning didn’t win his first playoff game in his first 6 years?? That it took him 9 years to win his first and only SB?? Us getting our butts whopped by the packers will only make us stronger because it didn’t kill us. They will have to learn from it. They don’t have a choice. And if you think Im just trying to be a “yes man” for Smitty and TD, the Colts got blown out by the Jets 40-0 in the playoffs once.

Think about that for a second. This isn’t the time for losing faith. I don’t play some for criticizing because thats what happens when you lose. ITS FORGETTING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS, that scare me. This team has come a long way in a short time. We still have personnel from the Petrino/Mckay era. We’re just getting warmed up. And our Defense isn’t as bad as most say. To say that the offense is fine but the defense needs work is contradicting yourself.

We finished 16th overall in defense and 5th points scoring. Defense is getting better while the offense is getting worse based on the stats. BVG is getting better at playcalling too. Started mixing it up down the stretch of the season. FORGET ALL THOSE MISSED SACKS?? Poor execution of the players by the scheme

I would like to ECO Falcons Relax!!!!!!!!!! He has hit the NAIL right dead center on the HEAD!!!!!!!!!

While the Falcons have room for improvement on both sides of the BALL. Keep in mind Harry Douglas had a 2 year knee injury that no one could see coming and if your honest with yourself H Douglas was looking better late in the season sharper cuts and such. The Wr position usually takes 3 years to really learn. So the 2011 season will be his 3rd and 2 full years from the Knee. (not saying don’t have a back up plan) but Be ready to see THE HD we thought he was during his rookie season.

I for one think P. Jerry (DT) will show why he had a first RD grade by most NFL scouts and will improve our Run D and help but pressure on QB’s up the middle.

No Falcon fan can say we do not need at least one if not 2 DE`s hope to get a good one in FA and draft one.
I for one think we need a TRUE NFL LT and say move Baker to the right side. Or LG

Since this years draft is heavty on defense, do you think atl would trade back out the first round to gather more picks? You always see New England do that, and they pick up good players. I think the Falcons are loaded with first round busts or below avg players…Jenkins, Anderson, Jerry, Baker..all 1st rds

We still do need pass rush which is controlled by d line as well as secondary. If secondary can not hold receivers the d line cant do much on pass rush. the same goes for if the pass rush can not get through o line or make common tackles then the secondary looks bad. I believe we should upgrade DE in free agency and there are also alot of WR in free agency. Its hard to tell with our own free agencies on the board. I believe we do need another WR as good as Roddy… maybe Torrey Smith. Most other teams have two good WR. However I still like Kerry Meier who we drafted in 5th round last year that was injured during last preseason game. Coach Smith was big on him going into last year. Another good thing for us is that with salary cap coming into play we have alot of room to play and expand unlike alot of other teams. Can’t wait for combine.
