Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster, the league announced on Monday.

Grimes will replace Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson, who’s team advanced to the Super Bowl XLV.

Grimes will become the ninth member from Atlanta in the game. He joins teammates defensive end John Abraham, tackle Tyson Clabo,  tight end Tony Gonzalez, fullback Ovie Mughelli, quarterback Matt Ryan, running back Michael Turner, wide receiver/special team specialist Eric Weems and wide receiver Roddy White in Hawaii on January 30, 2011.

The nine players by one team is a league-high and a franchise record.

In 2010, Grimes was targeted a league-high 119 times by opponents (according to STATS, Inc.) Grimes answered the challenge, posting an NFC-best and a franchise record 23 passes defensed to go with his five interceptions.

I wish we had the BCS system in the NFL. It would be the Falcons and the Patriots in the superbowl. The packers and Steelers would be playing in the rose bowl… Just goes to show you how messed up the BCS is…

While our coaching staff is out there, look for a defensive end that we can trade matt ryan for. Someone who is young and strong. We can find a quarterback almost anywhere.

Come on “sad fan” I am still hurt but hands down GRIMES was the play maker on our defense…… and you going to get burnt some time with 119 balls thrown your way.. But the what you seem to not realize that he had 23 deflections and 5 interceptions also 40 incomplete passes. So you do the math.

Congrats BG – sad fan & cb smurf, you are wrong. You have someone with great athleticism who had to learn the schemes. When he finally started catching on last part of last season, he has been one of the best corners in the league. I had rather have an 5′9″ athlete with a 42″ vertical than any 6′3″ corner in the league. I just hope he will give us a reasonable short term contract before he goes on to being one of the highest paid CB’s of his time.

Hands down grimes is our number 1 Corner we should go after nnamdi or champ bailey and see how will dunta robinson work out at safty he plays 10 yards off the ball and nobdy wanna take hits by him i think they should take a chance. it would save a draft pick and we would be able to draft a Tight end or Reciever because TG88 wont be there much longer and mike jenkings and douglas are not cutting it

I don’t know much about football but I’m happy to see my old friend achieve his dreams of playing football! And doing a damn good job, I might add. Do ur thing Mr Grimes!
