Falcons fans coming to Saturday’s game are encouraged to arrive early, and will have an incentive – beyond, you know, making it on time – to do so. The first 60,000 fans in the Georgia Dome will receive a Falcons Rise Up flag specially designed for the game. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m.
Besides the weather potentially causing delays, the Atlanta Boat Show is at the Georgia World Congress Center and the Hawks are playing at Philips Arena.
The team is also encouraging fans who don’t have pre-paid parking passes to take MARTA to the game. The good folks at MARTA presumably also think this is a fine idea.
The team will move its Falcons Landing to the orange lot from its usual spot because of the weather. The orange lot is on Georgia Dome Drive.

Btw, I’m a FLAMING homosexual. It is not a coincidence that I’m a fan of the “packers”. I could be a woman…in that case I need to get off of this board and go make my husband a sandwich…a cheese sandwich that is. I’ll just rip a piece of blue cheese off of my fat, cheese eating ass. I talk smack because there are more residents in metro atl than my entire state because no one wants to live there. It’s a cold $%&*hole located in Canada’s anus.

What does clearing the streets, Wayne Williams, the runaway bride have to do with a football game? Guess the dairy farmers have to have something to grasp at besides an udder!

Haha I’m just kidding. I really did write that. The back-up of cheese in my colon and intestinal track is bringing the onset of Multiple-Personalities.

Have you ever seen Aaron Rodgers weiner? It makes Matt Ryan’s look like a summer sausage in a Christmas gift box that my fat grandma sent to me from Wisconsin

@jsmith “arrive early so you the homeless out front have a better chance to beg for money while you tailgate and so the thugs in downtown atlanta have more prey to feast on while you spend more quality time in beautiful downtown hotlanta!!”…
I’m a lifelong Atlantian. Have visited many other urban areas in the USA. My work moves me around to many parts of the city … I have chosen MARTA on some occassions to get me there for weeks at a time. I say all this to give credeance to what I’m about to say…
I’m growing tired of the constant drubbing of venues in Atlanta by those (who I assume) live in suburbia or even rural areas surrounding Atlanta.
1) Complaining about the homeless begging is tired – just say no and move on. You’d feel much better about saying no if in your heart of hearts you’re doing something to help in a systematic way.
2) jsmith – I’m guessing when think of venturing Inside the perimeter that the Thug’s will challenge you of your manhood. I’d be willing to go out on a limb and propose that villian in your head is young, black and may even have gold teeth. Don’t be fooled – give it chance to know these folks – most have jobs, kids and wouldn’t even think of robbing you. Most crime in Atlanta is black on black crime and crimes of passion. You’ll be ok – but the guy you fear most may not.
Venture inward, bring your kids and wife. It’s a great city with lovely people and some wonderful heritage.

Packer Fans, from the home of Jeffrey Dahmer, are getting on to Atl about the runaway bride and the homeless?
I have had the misfortune of spending many nights in Milwaukee for conferences and it is dead except for the homeless after 6 PM.

So many offensive comments! Falcon fans will never understand the bond we have with our Packers in both good AND bad years. Many locals support their team only during winning seasons. I suspect these “newbies” are the ones who are so defensive and insulting. Having said that, Packers fans need to give the Falcons the respect they deserve. The game will be extremely tough. There’s a difference between Packers pride and arrogance. Remember you’re in their house. Go Pack!

“the reason the Dome is not full sometime? Unlike Green Bay, there is more in Atlanta than just the NFL….”
That dog don’t hunt. Yankee Stadium and Giants Stadium are always filled….and there are a billion more things to do in NYC than in tiny little Atlanta. NYC LOVES GB!!

Every non Sunday day game the fans are always there on time. Sorry but this is the Bible belt with a large black fan base they people go to church on Sundays and there is nothing the NFL or the Falcons can do to change that.
Also in Green Bay you have 100,000 people that live there. In metro Atlanta there are 5.6 million people most of whom have no idea how to properly drive, which makes traffic a nightmare.

superalpha,
That’s not actually true Yankee stadium failed to sell out opening day as well as one of their playoff games this past October. The Giants and Jets did not sell out any of their home games this year at the new Giants stadium. They sold enough seats to make sure the games would not be blacked out but they did not sell them out. It was in all of the New York papers because people were pissed about the cost of tickets this year for both teams. Same thing with the Yankees.
As for the Falcons they sell out all of their games they have slow arriving crowds because the traffic in Atlanta is the worst on the east coast and this is the Bible belt. People go to church in the south, especially black people, which is what a lot of the Falcons fan base is. The NFL can complain all they want about it but it’s not going to change. When the Falcons played the Ravens on Thursday night football the place was packed at kick off. When they played the Saints on Monday Night Football the place was packed at kick off. It’s just those 1pm Sunday games that people arrive late too.
