Falcons to fans: Please arrive early

Falcons fans coming to Saturday’s game are encouraged to arrive early, and will have an incentive – beyond, you know, making it on time – to do so. The first 60,000 fans in the Georgia Dome will receive a Falcons Rise Up flag specially designed for the game. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Besides the weather potentially causing delays, the Atlanta Boat Show is at the Georgia World Congress Center and the Hawks are playing at Philips Arena.

The team is also encouraging fans who don’t have pre-paid parking passes to take MARTA to the game. The good folks at MARTA presumably also think this is a fine idea.

The team will move its Falcons Landing to the orange lot from its usual spot because of the weather. The orange lot is on Georgia Dome Drive.

Sad, so sad that they actually have to tell the fans to come in on-time. Wow!

“Rise-Up” makes me giggle

They don’t have to bribe all the fans to be there early. I am driving down from Indiana and will be there very early–road conditions permitting. I can’t wait for the game.

@cheesehead What makes me giggle is the AJC’s sports coverage. I learn more about the Falcons from other papers/blogs. I think all of the AJC writers should be forced to study the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s coverage of the Steelers, and then have an offsite retreat with Ed Buchette so they can learn what it means to be a beat writer.

On topic, however, you’re correct. The Falcons front office shouldn’t have to beg and bribe fans to be on time for kickoff.

I wouldn’t go to the game tomorrow without a gas mask. 25,000 Packer fans in the Dome? 25,000 people who eat a lot of bratwurst and cheese, and drink a lot of beer? We Falcons fans had better be louder than a jet engine, because we’ll need to drown out the sounds these Packer fans will be producing throughout the entire game.

Falcons win saturday, because of two snub pro bowl player, Brent Grimes and Curtis Lofton. Lets compare Samuel vs Grimes stats(26 tkls, 14 PD, 7 int and 15 on his team in tackles vs Brent 87 tkls, 23 PD, 5 Int and 2nd on his team in tackles) Vilma vs Lofton stats (105 tkls, 4 sacks, 1 Int and 3 FF and Lofton 118 tkls, 2 sacks, 1 int and 3 FF and Team #1 seed in NFC) You do the math, PO and with the rest of the D, watch them birds soar saturday. 20 West Bound

Visiting Packer Fans..hope you have a great stay for the game and that our fans are civil. While you tailgate do not take your eyes off your perosnal belongings as the homeless and thugs wander all around the tailgaiting areas just waiting for an opportunity to steal. Do not walk in groups less than four if you can help it..brazen armed robberies are on the rise in downtown Atlanta. Lastly, please don’t feed our homeless when you are approached (and you will be) for extra change.

Listen to all you morons that act like you blew out the Packers. Tony G dropped a 4th down pass that was called a completion. So take 7 points off the board there. Packers fumbled at the goal line due to not having a running back. Starks can punch that in, add 7 points. Falcon’s could have easily lost by 11 plus. That dome is nothing special where it impossible to win for the visiting team. Playing indoors helps out all the teams. I’m not from Wisconsin, but trying to make fun of someone for being a cheesehead is not an insult. Go watch the SEC and leave the NFL to real fans. Green Bay 12 time world champs… Atlanta ZERO point ZERO

Jimbo Jones,

Play nice, not everyone here cares about the SEC and Nascar Racing, its okay but at the end of the day I’m a die hard NFL Fan, you are correct, we have zero titles but that will change during this decade… bank on it!!!!!! In all due respect, Green Bay is a city that was built on NFL tradition, and there is NOTHING other to do in that city but to push owners and management to build a championship team, not to mention that the packers have been in existance for about 40 + years more the Falcons…. Where are you from by the way?

To All Packer Fans -

I’ve worked downtown, walked downtown, and passed-by SOME homeless people in Atlanta for 20+ years. Downtown Atlanta has NEVER been more tourist friendly than now. It’s usually a beautiful place to stop at the GA Aquarium, Coca-Cola Museum, the Children’s Museum, CNN Center, Centennial Olympic Park, the Boat Show at the WCC (right next door to GA Dome) and, oh, maybe take in a football game at the Dome. Welcome to the ATL, but….

Go Falcons!!

What does tradition have to do with this game? Do you get points for that? All those players/coaches are out of the game or dead! Bless you hearts, packer fans, you’re just ‘Whistling past the graveyard’. Meaning? “To attempt to stay cheerful in a dire situation; to proceed with a task, ignoring an upcoming hazard, hoping for a good outcome.” hahaha. Here’s some recent tradition, Matty Ice, 3 and 0 against GB. See u next year guys. I shouldn’t tell you this but you may want to look for some players on the NFC South’s pratice squads, lol.
