Playoff six pack: Roddy expects fans to be rowdy

Wide receiver Michael Jenkins is one of the few remaining players from the 2004 team that routed the St. Louis Rams, 47-17,  in the Georgia Dome.

For most of the squad, this will be their first home playoff game at the Georgia Dome.

“I think it’ll be pretty, pretty, pretty loud,” wide receiver Roddy White said. “Mike (Jenkins) told me about when they played St. Louis (in 2004 divisional round) and how loud the Dome was and how excited the fans were. So we expect them to be just like that. It’s a big game, and it’s just the next step for us. This is what we worked so hard for throughout the season. You win all those games and you want to get home-field advantage for a chance to win.”

There’s a report about the Delta flying a charter in the for the Packers fans, who know how to travel well. I remember the Packer Nation taking over the Edward Jones Dome back on their Super Bowl march back in 1996.  The Packers won and the fans didn’t want to leave. When the reporters were leaving hours after the game, they were still in Dome yelling their “Go Pack Go” chant.

That won’t be a problem at the Georgia Dome because if the Packers get rolling and their fans start chanting, “Go Pack Go” the event folks will turn the music up on them and blast one those “Rise Up” ads.

Here’s today’s playoff six pack:

  1. Falcons must face their superstitions and Packers

  2. Mike Smith, some Falcons staff and players stay in Flowery Branch

  3. ‘Old-style football’ by Falcons wears teams down

  4. Falcons playoff memories: Jeff Merrow

  5. Two-minute drill: Q&A with Michael Turner

  6. Falcons warn against counterfeit tickets

Folks- let’s be in the seats early. For some reason, that’s always been a problem here. I know we love to have a plate full of food and a cold beer when we walk in… but let’s get it a few mins earlier.

It was fun whoopin a$$ up in Lambeau earlier this decade, and this is going to be even better. Hopefully I wont be sitting beside lady barbasol again from the great state of Wisconsin. I swear she had a better beard than I can grow…but it went good with the big cheesehead I guess.
Let’s fill this place up so these yankees can’t squeeze their 900 pound butts in our seats!!

GB is scared-to-death of “The Burner” they know that this is the tipping point of the game… Their LBs are good pass rushers. and thats about it… All their fans are looking PAST this game, and for all our players THIS is the only game that matters, we dont give a Fudge-Packer about whether we play the the bears next, they beat-off to that ish… All that talk about their newfound running game is non-sense, we have been stout against the run… even more stout in Goalline…

Solid running, Chip blocks on Matthews into the flat– float it over the top, No huddle Offense to keep their fat-ass D’line on the field, Double Tight End packages, Roddy/Gonzo on 3rd… We got this….

ATL in FLA will be in attendance @ this game you wanna talk some ish… (i’ve sai it before)….Bike Rack… 8pm

ATL FLA: That sounds like a great game plan. Have the Falcons used that gameplan before? If so, how did it work? The double tight end set normally means you are gonna run the ball. I believe that was the same set-up they used against NO on MNF. It didn’t work very well with the burner get 48 total yards on 17 carries, with one of the carries being a for 27 yards. I don’t know how you can stop the Packers pass rush if you can’t run the ball effectively. The less wide receivers you have in the game, the closer the defenders play to the line of scrimmage.

DOL: Tell Roddy is he wants it rowdy, he will need more than 5 catches for 49 yards.

@Saint1Fan, guess you’ve got nothing better to do these days than camp out on our blog. After all, football is over for you until next year. And from the looks of things, you’re going to lose about half your team to free agency. Except Porter. He’ll still be there. The laughing stock of the NFL. From now on, when someone gets a straight arm, people will say, he just got “Portered.” What a joke.

Dear #1AintsFan…
Didnt want to tip my my hand… but here we go… Double TE (flanked) Right… D’fense shifts Right (its a 3-4 it has to)… Weakside Turner Left … Hurry up… Run D’fense still on field… (I said Hurry up)… Split that up into a Twins Roddy/Gonzo Right, Blocking TE Still Strong (option Block/Flat)… Go(Option/Post) Roddy (Post/Option Deep Cross) Gonzo… Jenkins 5 yd cross…

Bottom line is this, I know we are not playing Madden here… however they line up either run or pass committed….

Hurry up offense with their size is gonna cause problems. We can exploit that with formations, regardless of personnel.

Someone needs to let the fans know that when the offense has the ball, they need to be quiet. We’re there to distract the opposing team. I’m a season ticket holder and I don’t understand for the life of me why the home team fans in Atlanta don’t know when to be quiet. Get on the loud speaker or something because obviously they can’t read “Quiet, Offense at Work”.

Could’ve used our game plan against the Seahawks. Oh no they couldn’t. Didn’t have the personnel.

Depending on who splits wide.. you can still run in that formation too… Falcons have run a lot of Double tight this season, Peele has Caught TDs with Tgonzo on the field as well…So im not sure what you mean about “Have the Falcons used that gameplan before?”

In Conclusion…

Can you believe we still have these losers from New Orleans running their mouths. Got their a$$es handed to them by the Seahawks of all teams and they’re still talking smack. I’d think they’d all have those paper bags with eye holes on their heads and hiding in a corner. News flash losers, It took the NFL three years of “favorable” calls before you losers got the payback the Commish promised to Benson in trade for Benson’s promise not to move the team from that s#ithole New Orleans. The refs were sick and tired of cheating to help the Commish and had no intentions of doing it again in 2010. The bad news is that Atlanta has a young team and a stable coaching staff. Look for the Falcons to be on top of the NFC South for several more years. The Aints will not even be second next year. Tampa Bay will be the competition.

Rowdy is a low-life manged dog!!!!! He is a loser! To say what he said regarding the Saints winning the Superbowl last year…then talking really bad about the people of New Orleans is horrible! I had family that died because of Katrina and REALLY don’t appreciate what that manged-highly unattractive dog said about it! He is a rabeed dog that need to be put down !

Packers fans talked just as much ish before our regular season game, and look how that turned out. I’m kind of excited to see you d-bags fly into ATL and leave looking forward to next year. If I’m not mistaken, that’s a long flight back home to your ugly women and stinky cheese. As for Falcons fans being the worst, keep in mind you’re in a sports city, where we have multiple pro teams. How many does GB have? As a season ticket holder, I can tell you our fans will silence you d-bags the entire game. Bring your ear plugs, chumps.
