NFL fans are colorful to say the least. And Falcons fans will have a chance to win some prizes on Sunday. Curtis Compton, ccompton@ajc.com
FLOWERY BRANCH – The Falcons will host their third annual Fan Appreciation Day at this Sunday’s season finale against the Carolina Panthers at the Georgia Dome.
The Falcons are awarding and distributing a number of items for the fans in attendance. The first 50,000 fans to enter the Dome will receive red and black “Rise Up” bracelets compliments of the Falcons and one lucky fan will receive a $10,000 shopping spree compliments of Tara Fine Jewelers.
There will be numerous fan appreciation videos on the stadium Jumbotron from Falcons players thanking fans for their strong support in 2010.
“This is a way for the Falcons to thank our fans for their tremendous support this season,” said Falcons chief marketing officer Jim Smith. “For the third year in-a-row, we have dedicated the final regular season home game to our fans and salute them for the outstanding support we have received.”
Other items that will be given away to fans on Sunday include:

DOL, Don’t you think D3 deserves something from the Falcons or AJC for all his work on the Birdcage? Maybe comp. season tickets? Love your blog, keep up the great work.

B4, you must have been banned, lol. That reason alone, keeping idiots like you out of the cage, is reason enough.

I would like a win and a chance to go to two playoff games. That would be the best appreciation gift I could think of. Go Falcons!

The Class of Messr.s Blank, Dimitroff and Smith continue to shine. Thank you for three glorious years. This is something never before experienced in the annals of Pro Football in Atlanta. Three straight winning seasons, two of them punctuated by playoff appearances, and this team did not back into the playoffs one time. They went in the front door, and this year, they could go all the way! Thank you, Falcon organization. Putting a team that’s worthy of a city’s adulation on the field week in and week out is what is known as true fan appreciation.

All our team has to do to show their appreciation is win! Don’t distract them at this time of year with making “thank you” videos. We know they appreciate us. They know we appreciate them. The task at hand is beating the Panthers and controlling our own destiny. How many times have we been in that position?
That said, Fan Appreciation Day is a classy move by the organization. Look at the character of this team from top to bottom, and it’s obvious we are becomming the class of the NFC and soon the entire NFL. I couldn’t be prouder of our Falcons. I’ll be there Sunday watching our final regular season victory. God bless you boys. Just Win Baby!

you really want to show appreciation to the fans? how about NOT blaring obnoxiously loud music between every play?
how about doing away with those stupid games\giveaways that nobody cares about?
how about just focusing on football?

Focusing on football? You mean like back in the ’70’s?
You know, back when they let the men play and hit the QB?
Count me in.

I agree with “The Dogkiller Returns”. We lost because we were too timid with Brees. Man up, start tackling and hurting people! This girl wants to see people taken off the field in body bags!!

We didn’t lose because of not hitting Brees, we lost because the Saints were always open and catching the ball when Brees threw it. No coverage = caught balls and first downs all the time.
