I beleive the offense kept things simple for a reason, they knew they would met agin with a lot more at stake the next time. Falcons are doing great. Keep up the good work guys!!!!

Remi Ayodele should be fined severely for that statement. Aside from the legalities, what he stated is not a justifiable action from a player, is extremely ignorant, and should not be tolerated. True, or just a joke, it was very crude and I hope Goodell look into this. There is a difference in a friendly rivalry, and taking things too far. The picture does not bother me, but to state that he urinated… that takes it to another level.

All that I know is that it has become very sad indeed to have pathetic, loser organizations like the Falcons and the Saints being mentioned for anything other than their years of losing. I guess this is what happens when class organizations like the Cowboys and the Redskins are bought out by money grubbing egomaniacs who do not know a thing about fielding a team. The Eagles have a felon at a qb, the 49ers are beyond confused and Eli Manning is well… Eli Manning. This leaves a vaccuum at the top for the likes of the Falcons and the Saints. At least the AFC is in order with proper teams such as the Steelers, Patriots and Ravens. It doesn’t really matter whether the Saints or the Falcons take their loser teams to the Super Bowl. Neither of them will beat either of the three aforementioned AFC teams. Just the way that it is.

Falcons need to focus on carolina. The Falcons are earning the right to have home field advantage.Coach Smith said you get what you earned. I want to beat the saints any time but falcons have to focus on the next game and secure that first home game by beating the panthers. Well, since the Falcons SHOULD kick the Panthers butts and figuring the Saints will beat the NFC West “representative” (as opposed to winner) – then it appears to me that there’s about a 90% chance the Saints will be back here the 2nd week of January.

So that makes all this hubbub kind of pointless. The Falcons will have their shot at getting their “revenge” on the field, and other than that, nothing else matters!

Hopefully the Falcons players, coaches, owner, etc. will stay on the high road and take care of business when they have the opportunity in 2 1/2 weeks from now!

Good Lord, can we stop associating an entire city/state with a freakin’ football team? As if most of the players are even from the states they play for. And, what the heck does Katrina have to do with anything? I’m from Atlanta and it’s an ok city, but so is New Orleans. Anyone making fun of an entire city of people just because their football team won or lost is being childish. And, if you really think anyone urinated on our football field in front of thousands of people, then I have a bunch of stuff in my attic to sell you. The dude was just talking sh!t. And, on the off chance that he was actually that stupid, then we will have the last laugh because he will likely be suspended in the playoffs and fined on top of that. Doesn’t matter what the Saints players do or did after Monday night’s game. Whatever the reason, it’s a reflection on their character, good or bad. Nothing changes the fact that the Atlanta Falcons are the leaders of the NFC South, and that New Orleans has taken their rightful place behind them. Nothing changes the fact that Atlanta only has to beat Carolina to wrap up #1 seed and home dome advantage while the Saints take their show on the road. Just like the Falcons, the Saints get what they earned on the field of play — period. No amount of reveling or urinating on an inanimate, painted logo will change that. The frustration is understandable in both the Saints players and the fans who believe that their single season of success gives them some inherent claim to dominance over the Falcons. The Saints haven’t earned it this year, and the sour grapes that come along with that fact are just something all those delirious people will have to accept. When you’re not the lead dog, the view never changes — and it’s a tough view to live with; but it’s the only view the Saints have earned.

I totally agree with hoop235 about the offense hoding back. It just seemed to obvious that our play calling was different in that game. I give our team a lot of credit during and after the game. There were a few times the camera caught new orleans players and coaches doing tasteless things during and after the game. One was the db for the aints pulling on the facemask of rw after a play and the ref looking right at him and doing nothing. another was sean payton acting like a jerk at the end of the game to a fan that wated his hat. wake up nfl and television.. it’s obvious who had more class and which organization is heading in the right direction.. we will see the result this year and the very near future. gooo Falcons!!

I listened to one of the “experts” say NO would be division leaders if not for a missed field goal in NO. Well the same could be said of Atlanta if Turner had not fumbled on the one yard line with 2nd and goal. I think Atlanta is in a lot of heads that had an agenda that is not being realized. This really makes a lot of teams look bad when a too slick for prime time owner, completely puts a disaster back in working order in two years. I kind of think that is better that peeing on everybody, it last longer.

Taking a picture on another team’s logo is completely disrespectful. If I am not mistaken, TO was reprimanded for doing the very same thing a few years back when he was playing for the 49ers’. He did it on the Dallas logo and everyone in the NFL had a ton to say about it.
As a season ticketholder who was in attendance Monday night, this was the least of what I consider to be a plethora of indecencies by Saints fans on Monday night. It all started with all of the pissy drunk NO fans who were loud and disrespectful throughout the entire game. Many season ticketholders who sit in my section walked out of the game because they had children with them and the NO fans refused to stop using profanity. We called security and nothing was done. I heard the security guy mention that he was from NO……figures…..

Just mentioning that he pissed on our logo is disrespectful enough, whether he did it or not. Mr. Goodell, please look into this matter and fine this player. You seem to have your nose in everything else, so please make an example out of this fool. This is not the way the NFL should be represented. What a class act for the SB champs. They were posing as if they had won another SB!

Roddy White’s comments were nothing compared to the racial slurs that the NO fans used against him and John Abraham. One even cursed and made disparaging remarks about Matt Ryan’s mother. Don’t come down on Roddy for what he said if the NFL is not going to set a standard for fan behavior across the board!

And nobody is ragging on N.O. about Katrina, although it has not gone entirely unnoticed that Atlanta has absorbed lots of the evacuees and provided them a fresh start – something their half-assed hometown couldn’t do – and they STILL have to wear that sissy French flower logo everywhere, because they lack the good manners to do otherwise. The bottom line is Atlanta has to put up with lots of fans of teams in other cities because people move here from all over. This is very definitely not a problem for the Big Sleazy, which has not grown appreciably since the 1950’s.

Falcon Fans—–We should take pride in this. Now hear me out. What this shows is that the Saints regard us as a tough team. They took this picture and acted in a very immature manner, not because they won but because they knew they got lucky and can’t count on that happening again.
Think about it. Would taking a picture on a team’s logo or urinating on it be a bigger day in the regular or post season? Even if they think they could possibly defeat us again then why not give the Falcons an entire off season to stew over it?
I think more then anything else this shows the Saints aren’t really champions. They’re more of a bush league group that really got the game gift wrapped by the officials and Falcons. Do you really think the Falcons would blitz that much in the post season or were they just giving the Saints something else to prepare for? That fact that it worked so well should really scare the hell out of those Aints! Also, do you think a playoff ref is going to call double pass interference when the Saints player initiated contact 10 yards down the field on Roddy or Mike Jenkins going over Tony G’s back on third down? Even John Gruden didn’t miss those calls! I think the funniest thing is that the Falcons have given teams a blue print to stopping these Saints! Not that we have to worry about other teams doing our job when we get to blow out these Aints in the second round!
And for all those classless Aints fans, what’s it like knowing your team cannot beath these Falcons? You have to look forward to Matt Ryan and Co. running the no huddle and ripping your hearts out in the process. Just ask Raven fans how it feels and you’ll get to hear what is in store for you!!!!

U missing the point. What we are talking about here has nothing to do with sports. Born and raised Falcons fans recognize that logo not as representation of the team, but of the city. To say you urinated on the emblem is to say you are peeing on the city itself. This goes beyond the game ( I gve props to the saints immediately afterwards and the following day). This makes it personal.

I say New Orleans people (including my mother and grandmother) are not welcome here not because of the game. But because so many of you are disrespectful and simply ungrateful.

We have been rivals since I was a little girl. I understand that ya’ll are pissed because we are the World Champs, it’s understandable. But that doesn’t mean you all should get your heads all pumped up because you are at the top of the NFC. You had a weak ass schedule and you have barely squeaked by in all of those games. Your first big game on the big Monday Night platform and you all folded. Made so many mistakes and couldn’t handle the pressure. Sure, Drew made a few mistakes that allowed you to get on the score board, but all of the penalties those birds were doing and the refs were looking the other way. We were penalized an entire football field, made two would be fatal mistakes AND WE STILL BEAT YOU! And we will do it again, because we are the Saints, the defending WORLD CHAMPIONS!

Even if you did make it to the big game (and that is a HUGE effing IF), you won’t make it past the Patriots or whoever makes it from the AFC. You need to come to that realization quick, because your team has made it to the big game once and come home empty handed and if they make it there this year; you are in for the same disappointment.

I for one think this is a good thing, I am hoping for a rematch at the dome. The players are gonna be so pumped they will injure Bush purposely (hopefully) and come out with a win. Keep in mind, our offense was horrible and we only lost by 3 points. The Saints aren’t as good as they were last year, keep in mind they lost to AZ and Cleveland.

So some of you geniuses want to use stats??? You’re lucky our offense didn’t show up…. Let’s look at the season stats:

Saints total offense is 6th, ATL’s is 16th a 36.6 yard/game difference. ATL’s scoring offense is 5th, the Saints are 10th; a difference of 0.8points a game.

Saints total deffense is 5th, ATL’s is 17th a 29.7 yard/game difference. ATL’s scoring defense is 5th, the Saints is 6th; a difference of 0.4 points a game.

Is it possible the game was close because both teams have uncharacteristicly good defenses this year and are evenly matched from top to bottom?

What is going to happen when I log on here on Sunday night and the Falcons are the 5th seed? Like you all kept trying to compare yourselves to the Saints of last year, why are you stopping now. Last year, the Saints lost to the Cowboys at home after going 13-0, in an emotional game. Then they played SORRY Tampa Bay the following week at home. The Saints jumped out on them 17-0 in the 1st quarter and didn’t score again because they were emotionally drained. They lost the game in OT 20-17.

Don’t think it is impossible. The Panthers have been resting since last Thursday night’s game, its their season finale, and all of their players are fighting for positions. If you played football, its just like the Spring Football game.

If not for penaties (92 yards and negated Colston TD versus 10 yards against Falcons) and two bad mistakes by Brees, the it shoulda been 24 – 3. Don’t worry, the Saints won’t give up so many penaties next time or mistakes because that are the only reasons the Falcons even made it to playoffs! Without some lucky bounces and bs ref calls, the falcons are easily 8-7 and out the playoffs! How can you beat the Gumbo out of a team that turned the ball over 3 times in the first game and missed a field goal, which is 4 turnovers. The Falcons received the ball to start the game and to start overtime and you were still staring an L in the face. Then, they come to your home and dismantle you. Forget what the score says, the game was in no means competitive. You can thank the refs for keeping you in the game. Not to mention the non-call for Pass Interference that your safety didn’t turn his head around on.

Just hope that GB comes to your home and beats you, because I don’t know how you could handle another loss to the Saints. What a way to start your New Year, as a LOSER.

It is really a shame that the rivalry betwwen these to excellent teams can’t be looked on as that. We have to make all these stupit and racist comments just to make ourselves feel good about us. these are to great teams from thre best division in the NFL. If you are talking about a quarterback, age is irrelevant. How old is Brady? How old is Manning? Hell, how old was Brett? Brees is the least sacked quarterback since 2006, yet he has more completions and pass attempts than any other quarterback. He has 400+ completions in 3 consecutive seasons which is an NFL record. It has only been done by in 1 other season.

Saints only drove the field one time and it was in the 4th quarter. The other was given to you on the Falcons 25 yard line. Didn’t have to go far. The Falcons went on two long drives. One they scored on and the other Turner fumbles. Lets say Turner doesn’t fumble on the one and McClure doesn’t fumble the snap at the 25. Lets also say that Brees doesn’t throw a pick 6. Falcons win game 14-10.

I have watched football. I know what type of quick strike offense the Saints have, and the non-quick strike offense that your team has. As a result, you can’t make mistakes. Also, we are very STOUT against the run. Even with the bad tackling game at Baltimore (203 rushing yards), we are probably ranked #3 vs. the run. Ask Turner about our run defense.

Falcons had a game plan that did not show anything. Their blocking schemes were simple to give the Saints a “blue print” on how to stop Turner. Also, we blitzed the be-Jesus out of Brees to give him something to sleep about when we meet for the NFC championship.

The Falcons were going with that offense showing pretty much nothing knowing they had Carolina next week at home. It’s called playoff strategy.
