Falcons ticked with Saints for posing on their logo

Former Falcons defensive line coach Bill Johnson posing with some of the Saints on the Falcons logo after Monday Night's game.

The Falcons are ticked off about the Saints posing for pictures on the team’s logo.

Also, Saints defensive end Remi Ayodele told CBSSportsline’s Pete Prisco that he urinated on the Falcons’ logo.

The Saints were celebrating after beating the Falcons 17-14  and securing a spot in the playoffs.

After the game, the Falcons were unaware of the Saints celebration. The team didn’t practice on Tuesday or Wednesday.

However, one team official, did speak with NewOrleans.com’s Brian Allee-Walsh about the Saints’ celebration.

“Believe me, that didn’t go unnoticed, not just by our players and coaches but by our owner (Arthur Blank) and front office people,” the Falcons’ official said. “It did not go unnoticed and it will be remembered.”

Ironically, if the playoffs break a certain way, the Saints could return to the Georgia Dome for a divisional round playoff game.

In order for the Saints and Falcons to have a rematch at the Georgia Dome, the Falcons need to beat Carolina to secure the top seed. The Saints would then have to beat the NFC West winner in the wildcard round to get a return visit to the Georgia Dome.

@Ron– that just wrong. katrina is real live and sholdn’t be mistaken for fun and game as in a football game. Why lower yourself to that type of thinking?

Wow, such a response from a picture. So let me understand this, you’re not upset that we came into your house and basically punched you in the mouth, what you’re upset about is a picture at the end of the game, when every one was gone off the field? How come this didn’t stir the same response when they did it in Dallas earlier this year, or when they did it last year after, cough, winning the superbowl?

Only Falcons fans would pour fuel on a fire that wasn’t even lit. And D Led (whatever) before you go posting something like this “Now if the Remi dude did in fact urinate on the emblem, shouldn’t he be arrested for incident exposure or public indecency if the Saints have to return to the Georgia Dome?” make sure it really did happen. Considering you’re a writer you should know all about fact checking.

17 – 14, how’s that taste? Maybe when we come back in January and spank you again the Falcons can pose with us.

I for one think this is a good thing, I am hoping for a rematch at the dome. The players are gonna be so pumped they will injure Bush purposely (hopefully) and come out with a win. Keep in mind, our offense was horrible and we only lost by 3 points. The Saints aren’t as good as they were last year, keep in mind they lost to AZ and Cleveland.

I wonder if the Patriots and Jets fans, or the Cowboys and Redskins fans treat each other as the Falcons and Saints fans are doing here.

It seems to me that both fan bases have some growing up do do (in the interest of full disclosure I am a lifelong Falcon fan).

To the winners go the spoils. Remi Ayodele, maybe he’ll have a chance to let either Clabo or Dahl rub his nose in the turf at midfield to see if he can smell himself, here in the next few weeks. Ayodele if you did wiz on the logo, then you are a real piece of work.

NO BIG DEAL LET THEM AS THEY SAY, DANCE.IN THE END, IT WILL BE THE FALCONS WHO WILL BE DANCING IN THE SUPERBOWL WHILE THE SAINTS WILL BE DANCING AT HOME, OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS.THE FALCONS NEED TO PUT THE WOOD TO CAROLINA SUNDAY.I REMEMBER IN 73 WHEN THE FALCONS HAD TO BEAT TWO LOSING TEAMS IN THE SAINT LOUIS CARDINALS AND BUFFALO BILLS.THEY PROCEEDED TO LOSE BOTH GAMES AND WON THE LAST GAME VS. THE SAINTS BUT HAD TO MISS THE PLAYOFFS.THIS FALCON TEAM WILL NOT GO THAT ROUTE.THEY WILL BE READY AND FIRED UP AND PUT THE PANTHERS AWAY AND THEN SIT BACK AND AWAIT WHO EVER WINS.DON’T BE SURPRISED IF NEW ORLEANS GETS OUSTED IN THE FIRST ROUND AS THEY DESERVE TO

William, it’s called guilt by confession. And yes, 17-14, 3 points when our offense couldn’t get in gear, you should be ashamed you didn’t destroy us with our O playing that bad. Must have been bred in “Chocolate City”, what great leaders you have down there. Do everyone a favor and go clean up your puke dump of a city, it still looks like a hurricane just came through.

I don’t know, tell us the taste you felt after 27-24 Falcons win in Sept. Once you come back, if you make it through the WILDCARD round, we will kick your tail back to New Orleans with a priest reading your last rights.

What, you mean the one where we basically gave you the game. The one where our fg kicker missed a 29 yarder? The one where we made a ton of mistakes yet were still in a postion to win it, the won that we gave you.

You’re welcome for that. I mean, we figured that since we won the Superbowl and STILL are defending champions we’d give you the division so you could have something to gloat about. No worries, we’ll see in three weeks. Then you can come back and tell me how it feels watching us play in the NFC Championship, again.

Only a person of limited football knowledge would consider 17-14 a “spanking”.

NO Possessions:
1 Punt
2 Punt
3 Punt
4 Field Goal
5 Touchdown
6 Punt
7 Punt
8 Punt
9 Punt
10 Intercepted Pass
11 Intercepted Pass
12 Touchdown
13 End of Game

Not exactly a “spanking”. New Orleans made more plays than Atlanta and won the game by 3 points.

I mean if we played that terrible, and kept giving you good field position and opportunity after opportunity and the big bad Saints could only muster 17 points? Some of you mental midgets need to keep in mind that this was just a picture at mid-field after a big win on the road. It’s something that this team has been doing for two years now. The Falcons’ fans now want to talk about “class” and “trashy” when their own WR was tweeting like a scorned 12 year old girl all week. I guess him taking a shot at the city and using Katrina is considered classy by Atlanta’s standards. Reading through these comments make me understand this now. I’ve seen Falcons’ fans wish death upon one guy’s family, another with for another hurrican to wipe out N.O. Y’all are the damn EPITOME of class I tell ya. Y’all should be ashamed that this is all over a picture from a FOOTBALL GAME.

This was a bad idea, even if it’s true that it’s just the way the D’s front 7 commemorate milestone wins, the coaches should have know that this kind of antagonism would make the team looks classless.

As for the comments that a) the city of New Orleans is worthy of derision or b) that ANY team’s players are all from the town they play for, well, I am sorry you are so small-minded.

“Take the 7 points we gave you with the center’s fumble and add the 7 we lost with Turner’s fumble on the one yard line and the Falcons win 21-10! Looking forward to the next meeting in a few weeks!”

Well I guess if you take Brees mistake pick six and the six that the refs gave you on the roughing the passer, you know where Mutt Ryan was stll in possesion of the ball and someone touched his chest, that makes it a 3-0 game with the same result. We made the plays and the dead bird did not, that simple. If we get to return, if the 6 seed does not beat the 4 seed, I am confident that the result will be different….the Saints will win by 14.

Are you telling me that now the Falcons are motivated? Come on, Man. If they weren’t motivated to lock up the #1 seed in the biggest game of their franchise’s history, something is wrong with that team. The media is looking for something to fire their boys up, but as you can see your boys don’t have the proper focus in the first place. Keep this up, and you will staring the #5 seed in the face because Carolina is not coming in here to lay down. Just ask Philadelphia, San Diego about this past weekend’s games.
