Falcons ticked with Saints for posing on their logo

Former Falcons defensive line coach Bill Johnson posing with some of the Saints on the Falcons logo after Monday Night's game.

The Falcons are ticked off about the Saints posing for pictures on the team’s logo.

Also, Saints defensive end Remi Ayodele told CBSSportsline’s Pete Prisco that he urinated on the Falcons’ logo.

The Saints were celebrating after beating the Falcons 17-14  and securing a spot in the playoffs.

After the game, the Falcons were unaware of the Saints celebration. The team didn’t practice on Tuesday or Wednesday.

However, one team official, did speak with NewOrleans.com’s Brian Allee-Walsh about the Saints’ celebration.

“Believe me, that didn’t go unnoticed, not just by our players and coaches but by our owner (Arthur Blank) and front office people,” the Falcons’ official said. “It did not go unnoticed and it will be remembered.”

Ironically, if the playoffs break a certain way, the Saints could return to the Georgia Dome for a divisional round playoff game.

In order for the Saints and Falcons to have a rematch at the Georgia Dome, the Falcons need to beat Carolina to secure the top seed. The Saints would then have to beat the NFC West winner in the wildcard round to get a return visit to the Georgia Dome.

Falcons, Panthers by the numbers

The package of notes passed along by ESPN Stats & Information on Sunday’s game between Atlanta and Carolina focuses entirely on the Falcons. Understandable since there really is nothing left to say about the Panthers.
Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan has been better this season when facing five or more pass rushers. In those situations, Ryan has a 100.1 passer rating with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. When faced with four or fewer pass rushers, Ryan has an 84.5 passer rating with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. For the record, Carolina has blitzed on 34.2 percent of opponent dropbacks. That puts the Panthers slightly above the league average, 33.2 percent.

Hello,

Because you are a Saints fan, I decided to post this explanation. My 8:01 comment was intended to be a fun, sarcastic and silly poke at all of the irrelevant and personal shots being fired by both sides. Anyone who knows New Orleans would easily see my comment as PRO New Orleans. Do you really think that anyone believes that the Coke Museum is better than the D-Day Museum or that the sun comes up in the west? Of course, which city is “better” is subjective and still not relevant to football or the playoffs. Just to be on the safe side, let me expressly state, Geaux Saints!

We made sure you won a SB last year, so be happy :)

It was a feel good story and was fun while it lasted.

But the rest of the NFL is now laughing at sAINTS fans.

One and DONE is what they like to call you.

Please get a grip!! You’re not New England, you’re New Orleans.

This reaks of classlessness. No matter what, no one should urinate on the logo of the other team (or their own for that matter). I don’t think he was misquoted, but that doesn’t mean he actually did it. It’s just stupid. As for posing, please. So they got into the playoffs. The Falcons are in the playoffs. So, they delayed their division clinching by one week. Big deal. Good change they’ll get it by defeating the Panthers, the worst team in the league (anything can happen, of course). The Saints beat the Falcons by two points. There was no ass-kicking. It was a tightly contested game. It could have gone either way. The only thing the Falcons lost by losing this game was the ability to celebrate clinching the division that day. They can still clinch it. They can still be the #1 seed in the NFC. The Saints can parade around acting like jackasses because they beat the Falcons at the Georgia Dome, but their victory isn’t that big of a deal. Remember, the Falcons beat the Saints at the Superdome. It’s not like the Saints have dominated them this season. Falcons, beat the Panthers, secure home-field advantage, make the Saints play the first round, and if you face them defeat them.

If the two teams meet again, this year, and we’re up by 30 points in the fourth quarter, we should keep throwing passes and run up the score. I’ve never gotten in volved in this rivalry, but after this show of classless individuals, we should light up the scoreboard…no scoring limits if we’re ahead late in the game!

BTW, I’m sick of the “feel good story” circling the Saints. They won their Superbowl last year. I hated how everyone thought they deserved it because of Katrina, but whatever. Let’s get over this whole thing. They’re a football team like all the others. No special treatment because their town was in a hurricane. Should we give Minnesota special treatment because their dome was destroyed due to snow? Let’s give them a pass into the playoffs. It’ll make everyone feel oh so good.

This is for you Afalconfan: New Orleans doesn’t want any sympathy about Katrina. Nobody asked for any “special treatment”. You are correct the Saints are a football team, a very good one at that. Super Bowl XLIV Champions. Nobody gave the Championship to the Saints. They earned it. Go ask the 13 teams they beat in the regular season and also ask Arizona, Minnesota and Indianapolis, the 3 teams they beat in the playoffs and SB. The Saints earned it with no “special treatment”. So there is nothing to get over. Who Dat?

“Saints 17 – falcan’ts 14. Deal with it!

The falcan’ts were on National TV, and last week the falcan’t fans were all boasting about putting on a show for the country, and gaining respectability; all they did was deliver a big fat zero.

The Saints publically vindicated all of the sports journalists across the country for not showing the falcan’ts any respect and leaving them out of all conversations about who will be in the Super Bowl. The Saints shut down the falcan’t offense and completely dominated the falcan’t defense! Out-played and out-coached!

I guess the falcan’ts couldn’t stop the “Chuck and Duck”.

Bucs next.

GEAUX SAINTS! IT IS STILL, “OUR TIME!!”

Hey SeenThisB4,

If you think putting up 17 points is dominating a defense, then I hope you guys “dominate” the Bucs and either St. Louis or Seattle. Your excuse about being MIA is crap. You, like many on this blog, have been somewhat MIA while we were on our win streak. Didn’t hear ANYTHING from you or your ilk after your losses to Cleveland or Arizona. Typical “dish is out but can’t take it”. In case you have forgotten, we beat you already this season after your kicker CHOKED. Now we are even and you still have to beat a 9-6 Bucs team that would love to play spoiler while we have a 2 win team at home. Have fun hitting the road next week for your playoff game while we are at home resting as NFC South champions. Oh, and by the way, we beat Baltimore too, the team that you couldn’t handle 2 weeks ago. Here’s to Drew Brees trying another Larry Bird pass to our D lineman.

What the fuss about? Roddy started the talking and he did not back it up. We have a chance to get our revenge, but first we must take care of business this coming Sunday. I still see Brian Williams and Bierman missing the sacks on Brees, oh hell they just missed the sack again.
Curtiss Lofton as middle LB must tackle better than he has been doing, stop going for the strip and stop the runner, if you hold him up your teammates will strip at the ball.

Bottom line is this, The Falcons didn’t finish the drill. But posing on the logo is one thing, pissing on it is another. I am proud of the Falcons and I am sure they will handle this disrespect in an appropriate manner weeks down the road. The Saints will return, though many may leave on stretchers or crutches. And it must be said that Roddy did his teammates no favors by Tweeting prior to the game. That was disrespectful to the Saints and their fans indeed, but no mention was made then or ever about Katrina by members of this team. Once again the Saints have exceeded the Falcons…..in being Classless, Tasteless and Brainless. When this season is over, it will be plain for all to see, the Saints AINT gonna repeat, Aint gonna beat the Falcons twice, Aint gonna be relevant in years to come! Go Falcons! Remember The Logo!

I was at the monday night game and was shocked at the poor behavior of saints fans in the dome….until I read about the “posing and pissing”…then it all made sense. The saints and their fans desperately need a reality check. You embarass your city with your ignorance. Stop being so full of yourself and acting like you created the superbowl. I was born and raised in Atlanta – back in 1955. I have been a Falcon fan since 1966 and seen all the ups and downs. But to tell you the truth – I would never go to another teams site and talk trash. Maybe that is how they role in Louisiana – but Falcons fans are just pure and simple fans of the Falcons. I know our Falcons prefer to take care of business on the field – and we all know who has the best record in the NFC. To my best knowledge – the season is not over and the Saints will have to come back here to the Dome to even come close to another SB. Out of all the SB’s, only 7 teams have repeated. Seems a long shot for there to be an 8th team to repeat this year. How do you Saints fans even know this was not the plan in the first place? I am looking forward to January 2nd, See ya at the Dome! One more thing, let it be said that not all Saints fans are as bad as one would believe by some of their comments here. My Best bud is a Saints fan and we hava good natured smack talking session every time these two teams face off. But I have never seen or heard from him some of the comments I am reading from some who Identify themselves as a ‘Saint”. Sadly in every city there are ignorant fools who have little or no upbringing due to their social strata which glorifies thuggery and bad behavior over intelligence and morals. I am glad I don’t live in New Orleans with these folks, but I am sad for those who have the good of their city sullied by such sad excuses for humanity. The action of the player in particular, Mr. Ayodele, is detestable, and it is my hope that the authorities will give him the proper welcome when he returns. Then MY TEAM, The Atlanta Falcons, will take care of the rest! Rise up! Roll on! Remember the Logo!
