FLOWERY BRANCH – The Falcons will be near full strength health-wise when they face the New Orleans Saints at 8:30 p.m. Monday night at the Georgia Dome.

All of the players on the injury report participated in practice on Christmas and were listed as questionable  for the NFC South showdown.

With a victory, the Falcons (12-2) can clinch the NFC South title and the No. 1 seed for the playoffs for the time since 1980.

Defensive end John Abraham (groin), defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (shoulder), linebacker Curtis Lofton (questionable), fullback Ovie Mughelli (shoulder), wide receiver Eric Weems (knee) and wide receiver Roddy White (knee)  were listed on the injury report.

Out  = definitely will not play

Doubtful  = at least 75% chance will not play

Questionable = 50-50 chance will not play

Probable = virtual certainty will be available for normal duty

All Clubs are required to provide the NFL office and issue to local media the names of injured players who missed any portion of 11-on-11 team work on Friday (and updated on Saturday and Sunday, if applicable).

This is the game of the year! Two great teams that are both at or near full strength. To me, this is as close to a championship game as you get in the regular season. Just hope defensive end John Abraham (groin), defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (shoulder), are ready to go. we need them both to be full strength for this game. If we beat the Saints, even ESPN will have to pick us to go to the Super Bowl.

Not necessarily. I mean this is ESPN you’re giving too much credit to.

I’m tired of ESPN and the whole entire nation hating on the Falcons.I understand the history of the Falcons franchise, but this team led by Matty Ice is the new not the old. People give this team a little credit. We are 12 and 2

Just bring on those stinkin’ over rated SAINTS already! Oh that’s right…people talk about the FALCONS being “over rated”…the Saints are the ones who have so many more question to answer…like how do they stop our rushing attack!!!

Ravens showed us the way last week…FALCONS will finish off those SAINTS before Tampa gets them in week 17.

GO FALCONS GO!

I’m going to reserve that “hate” word for teams who really deserve it. As a Falcon fan, I don’t hate the Saints. I admire the fortitude they’ve shown in the last few years to reach the top. But I admire an even faster effort to RISE UP from our very own Atlanta Falcons. My sense of this “town of many” is that we have many fans of NFL teams next door. But this is OUR YEAR. This isn’t about hating another team. This is about rising up to our own ability. GO FALCONS!

I’ve been going to Falcons games since 1978 (I can remember “Big Ben Right”, Bobby Hebert beating the Saints in the Superdome in the playoffs and other great games in this series), but this has to be by far the biggest game in the history of this rivalry There’s rarely been a game when both teams were good, but never been a game where both teams were at the top of the league. I can’t wait!

I could have sold my tickets for a grand, but it still wouldn’t have been worth it. There’s no way I’m missing this one!

There is a time for everything. Unfortunately this is not the time for the Falcons. Please enjoy your tremendous success during this regular season. but until you EARN a Championship Ring symbolizing DOMINANCE, you have not earned the right to claim superiority.

We got our Rings …. where is yours? Remember that great year that the Patriots had … Undefeated until the PLAYOFFS … PLAYOFFS … that is when it really counts …

My heart is blood red for the Falsons, but my pocketbook says take the Saints straight up. I did. I also said 1 month ago that the Birds would end up the season 13-3. When the games over, I’ll let you know how much I cleared.
You have to know the odds are not in the Falcons’ favor; they have lived on the edge too long and the ‘Aint’s have more to prove and want the game more than do the Birds. Sorry. Get mand and say nasty things but we shall see who is right come Tuesday morning early. Of course, if I lose, I’ll be man enough to own up to my error.

ORLANDO, LEDBETTER, THE FALCONS WERE 12-4 IN THE 80′S AND WERE FAVORITES TO WIN THE SUPERBOWL WITH THE BEST RECORD AND # 1 SEED THROUGH OUT THE PLAY OFFS AND LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND TO THE WILD CARD DALLAS COWBOYS.

SO NO THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE FALCONS WOULD BE # 1 SEED.

BY THE WAY IF THEY FACED V IC THEY’D BE UNDERDAWGS (PUN INTENDED) Of course KOLB would beat them too.

In 1980, after a nine game winning streak, the Falcons posted a franchise then-best record of 12–4 and captured their first NFC West division title. The next week, their dream season ended at home with a loss to the Cowboys 30–27 in the divisional playoffs- They had the best record and were favorites to win it all.

Drew Breeze is 4-0 on Monday Night. They have all their horses back. Lost at home to Baltimore Ravens. Winners of 6 straight games. Played 5 teams under .500 and 1 team above .500. Gave up 208 yds. rushing to Baltimore. New Orleans Saints rushing was a non factor.
Atlanta’s Defense is just as good as Baltimore’s i believe. I believe we can shut down the Saints rushing. Saints have had a pretty easy schedule this year. Of the 8 wins the Falcons played 4 teams above .500 4 teams under .500, 3 of those teams are in the mix for going to the playoffs.
OF THE 14 games the Saints played 4 teams headed to the playoffs, Atlanta played 6 teams headed to the playoffs.
Saints have played 4 teams above .500, the Falcons have played 8 teams above .500
Saints are a better home team than road team.
No doubt that New Orleans will come to play a) Monday Night Game b) Inner Conference c) Beat them at home d) Their in 2nd place e) Ex NFL Champions f) We’re at full strength now g) Roddy White smack.
My Falcons team a) Monday Night Football – televised infront of millions of viewers b) time to show how really good we are c) finally shutup all the critics d) Beat another quality team e) Win the NFC South f) Keep the streak alive g) At home throughout the playoffs
I know the Falcons are the better but do they believe they are? To me this is the perfect scenario. Nobody except Family, friends, coaches and this city believe the Falcons are the best team in football. If they falter against New Orleans on Monday Night the critics will say “see see told you they werent that good”. Beating New Orleans will shutup all the Falcon haters, and give them no excuse because they were at full strength.
This game is bigger than any playoff game with the exception of the Superbowl and the NFC Championship. This game will dictate where Atlanta goes in the playoffs. Beat the Saints yet again and i guarantee you that we wont face them again inthe playoffs.
They will not forget being swept this year and it’ll bury and shatter their ego’s and they’ll know were superior and will not be looking forward to next years game.
This Game is about getting RESPECT around the league.

The problem with all you whiners in Atlanta is that you are a bunch of Yankees that have come down here with no loyalty to Atlanta or the south. You probably root for Minnesota or the Jets- believe me, we don’t need you, and don’t want you. Please go back north where you don’t have to complain about the grits. Go Falcons!

Other than winning this game, Falcoms fans should not be haters for the Saints. We are like siblings. We both have been there before. Saints fans are not Bucs Fans, of I hope so. Bucs fans have no class. I for one, was very happy to see the Saints win it all this year. While I hope it’s the Falcoms who take this thing to the top, it’s great to see both the Falcoms and Saints at the top of the heap, for what hopfully will be years to come. Both cities and teams have suffered for a long time. If the birds weren’t there, I’d pull for the Saints. I hope it’s the same at the other end.

One good reason to hate the Saints–their fans. Last year they were running around in packs after the game and jumping Falcons fans all over the place. Real brave, 5 on 1. Scumbags. And this is when they had won. I will be there Monday night, and I hate to see how these slimballs will act when there sorry little team gets their butts kicked by these Falcons.
