FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons wide receiver Roddy White and tight end Tony Gonzalez are getting some love in the fan voting for the 2011 NFC Pro Bowl squad, according to the results released by NFL.com earlier this week.

The league announced the leaders at each position so we don’t know how the rest of the Falcons are doing.  But fan voting continues through Monday, Dec. 20 online and on web-enabled mobile phones by going to NFL.com/probowl.

The Falcons have it set up where you can vote through the teams’ Facebook page at www.facebook.com/atlanta falcons and you have to click the “Pro Bowl” tab at the top of the page.

(REMEMBER: CHICAGO VOTING RULES APPLY – VOTE EARLY AND OFTEN!!!)

The Falcons have the best team in the NFC at 8-2 and should have more players leading at their positions. Matt Ryan is trailing Michael Vick and Aaron Rodgers, because they were both in the top 10 vote getters. (The Packers fans know how to stuff the ballot box.)

linebacker Curtis Lofton will get a lot of attention from the coaches and players. Lofton should be able to overtake San Franciso’s Patrick Willis. If Willis is so good, the 49ers would be 3-7. Also, he didn’t do much when they played the Falcons.

The fans, players and coaches vote for the teams. Each group’s vote counts one-third toward determining the teams. The players and coaches will vote on Dec. 22 and 23.

The teams will be announced at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28 on a special NFL Total Access 2011 Pro Bowl Selection Show on NFL Network.  The 2011 Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 at 7 p.m. ET at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

I would love to see Brent Grimes go. Rarely does a player show so much heart. He always leaves it on the field. If all 53 players had his heart (and many do on this team), the Super Bowl would be a cinch.

BE LOUD, Georgia Dome, BE EARLY & BE VERY LOUD!!!

-Go Falcons!

I hope nobody gives the Falcons respect they deserve….that way they stay under the radar…TV media (ESPN, NFL Network) don’t want a team that has no FLASH, or DRAMA why do you think they keep showing losers like the Vikings and playing up the Jets (who win by the skin of teeth) this Falcon team are MAULERS and just grind the other team to exhaustion…this is why the NFL has changed the game to favor the WR’s to put flash in the game…so the only one’s who like our Falcons style of play..is us……GO FALCONS WITH YO BAD SELVES

Please God, help me to not hate the haters on this blog. It is Thanksgiving, and I am glad for the Falcons record, my family & friends, and living in the US. We’ll eat during the non-competitive portion of the Detroit game (okay, 2nd-4th quarter) and then revel with our friends in a turkey/tryptophan-induced haze with gobs of wine for the Dallas game.

Who cares if our team members are “not respected?” They are guys who work very hard and who are more concerned about TEAM. I guarantee you we will get further in the playoffs by not flaunting our upside…

For some reason Jeff gets WAY more hits. It’s amazing how far an unbiased moderated blog will get you.

If banning your readers is the only way you can win a debate then I feel sorry for you and will just head back to Jeff’s blog. He is more knowledgable about sports anyway.

I would love for our guys to all be recognized as being selected to the Pro Bowl….but there’s a Bowl the week after the Pro Bowl I’d much prefer my guys to be preping for.

So…I don’t care a bit for Pro Bowl. Only two or three of our guys can go to the Pro Bowl. EVERY FALCON can go to the Super Bowl.

Hay Reality Check,
You must be living in an alternate reality. It is written: Falcons win the South 12-4. Don’t forget the unwriten law, NFC South Division winners never repeat. This is a law which the Falcons will rewrite.

Before the saints missed fieldgoal, how about when the saints punted the ball to the falcons and game was sealed until the ball hit off the falcons foot when his back was turned on punt coverage. sounds lika a bigger fluke than a missed fieldgoal.. member that?

some of you guys are clueless thinking Falcons will not win the divison or at least wildcard

Falcons plays:

GB, TB, CAR, SEA, NO, CAR: They can easily go 5-1 maybe 4-2 if they lose to the Packers = 12-4

Bucs:
BAL, ATL, WAS, DET, SEA, NO : They will go 3-3 and finish 10-6

Saints:

CIN, STL, BAL, ATL, TB : Will go 3-2 = 11-5

@ Reality Chick…..There was an All-Pro HOF QB that threw a lot of dinks and dunks to Roger Craig, John Taylor, Brent Jones and Jerry Rice that had a pretty good defense with a couple more HOF players on that side of the ball also. His name was Joe Montana and the offense is called the West Coast Offense. The short pass along with a consistant running game eats the play clock and allows your DEFENSE to be fresh and more effective. If you knew Football you would know this.

As far as luck…..well don’t you remember the Saints-49ers game earlier this year….That was a fluke…..Making a play against Roy “choke” Williams is somewhat unlucky for the Cowboys but we can always go “WHAT IF”. The name of your team should be Philadelphia SaintsPackBucJets AND/OR Seattle RavensSteelColtsPatriotBears. I pull for the Atlanta Falcons and YES I think that every year is going to be thier year.
