FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons defensive end John Abraham and wide receiver Roddy White returned to practice on Thursday.

Both stars missed practice on Wednesday, Abraham with a groin injury and White with a knee. Abraham leads the Falcons in sacks with eight. White leads the league in catches with 79.

Abraham didn’t play last week against the Rams. The team has been careful with White since he suffered a knee injury, likely a bone bruise, against Tampa Bay on Nov. 7.

Running back Antone Smith (hamstring) was the only player not to practice.

Linebacker Curtis Lofton (knee), defensive tackle Corey Peters (pectoral) and wide receiver/kick return Eric Weems all fully participated in practice.

Safety Shann Schillinger (concussion) was limited.

Great to see Abe and Roddy back at practice, hopefully Sunday Aaron Rodgers will get to know Abe quite well after being sacked a half dozen times.

Roddy White – If he can stay healthy, he should be the MVP for the 2010 season.

please, please beat green bay! no one at ESPN has shown this team any respect. they and everyone at ‘inside the nfl’ all have gushed all over green bay and picked green bay to win without a mention to anyone this team. i want the falcons to win and it’s an important game. but this is a game about respect, enough flying under the radar, it’s time to kick butt and give a good slap in the face to the (so-called)national media.

I like the Falcons flying under the radar of the pundits. They’ll have to talk about our team once we get to the playoffs. We need everybody for this game, glad to hear Roddy and the Predator were back today. 18-1 at the Dome for Matty & Coach, let’s make it 19-1 on Sunday!! RISE UP Falcons!

Please, play the game and be quiet about it. If you keep winning (by you I mean the Falcons), you will get all the attention you deserve.

Guys…stop the crying about a perceived “lack of respect’… particularly from ESPN. Good gawd awmighty, that band of boneheads has absolutely NOTHING to offer ANY team much less ‘respect’. The Falcons’ record speaks for itself – the last thing you as Falcon fans want to do is start sounding like Eagles fans…. well… the Cowbags sure blew that game.

…anyway…good game coming up on Sunday. I am really looking forward to these two teams duking it out. Gonna be a beauty.

Zolaistheone PLEASE living in the South you can”t help notice the queer love affair the National Media has with teams like the Giants, Fudge packers,Jets,Colts, pats, fins,Chargers, and the Bungles and lets not forget Farve who has not won $#*! since 96. It has always been this way regardless of winning or losing. It’s the same in College football Ohio,Michigan,Usc, the Irish schools that don’t deserve the attention they get. It’s creeps me out with the media who crush on these schools regardless of record

The Falcons are solid and they play for sixty mintues. You saw what happen to the Detroit Lions against the Patriots. You can’t just play for one half. The Falcons will be physical with the Packers. Matty Ice and the Falcons haven’t played their best football yet.

“Inside the NFL’ on Showtime is a joke. I recored it on the DVR so I don’y have to listen to C.C., P.S., W.S. and J.B.. All I watch is the Falcon highlights, which sadly, are not very long most of the time. The host on the show carry on in an extremely “gay” manner. Reminds me of a bunch of teenage girls discussing their recent crushes. Yuck.

they certainly have an easy game, according to them.

Actually, the Falcons 8-2 record is a smoke screen. 5 of their wins have come against teams with losing records (just like the Packers.) The other 3 wins are against TB, NO, and BAL. Here’s the thing: TB Hasn’t won a game against ANY team with a winning record. NO has only won two games against teams with a winning record (but one of those was Tampa) and BAL has only won two gaems against winners as well. OF all their wins, the Ravens were of the highest quality. The other 7 are basically against lousy teams (The NFC south has the easiest schedule of all divisions.)

I don’t think the Packers can take this game lightly at all, because no matter how bad the opponent, Atlanta has done what they had to to win the games. However, the Falcons do not need to be feared. Their record is a very hollow record indeed (even more so than the Packers.) This Sunday will show who the real contender is.

Glad to have Roddy and Abe back in practice and hopefully they are ready to go on sunday….that being said, this is one of the few games i worried about before the season started simply because of the match-ups….but seeing how our offense has been clicking the last few weeks and our opportunistic defense i am not so worried now(especially being at home)…can’t wait for a great game on sunday!!…GO DIRTYBIRDZZZ RISE UP!!!!
