Falcons coach Mike Smith has asked for some help from the fans to beat the Packers. (Curtis Compton/ Ccompton@ajc.com)
FLOWERY BRANCH – Tell your preacher to let you out of Sunday service early.
Take the MARTA if traffic is your issue.
Cut the tailgate off a little bit earlier.
Basically, as Kim Zolciak sings, “Don’t be Tardy for the Party!”
Falcons coach Mike Smith, who is 18-3 in the Georgia Dome in three seasons, is asking the fans to be on time and loud for Sunday’s 1 p.m. game against the Green Bay Packers.
“I just want to talk a little bit about the upcoming game and how important it is for our fans to get out there,” Smith said. “We want it to be like Thursday night (against the Baltimore Ravens). That was a big advantage for us as a football team to have the fans in the stands, rocking and rolling.”
The Falcons are 8-2 and have the best record in the NFC. Green Bay is 7-3.
“It should be a good game,” Smith said. “The Green Bay Packers are on a roll. They are playing good football. It ought to be an exciting afternoon. We are hoping that everyone will come and help us win the game.”

The Packers, for what it’s worth, look like the best team in the league to me after 10 games for a couple of reasons. The defense has gotten early instability settled; coordinator Dom Capers has figured out the right personnel combinations, and the corner combo or Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson — who has turned into the kind of leader a head coach dreams of — is playing as well as any corner tandem in the league. Green Bay’s allowed 10 points in the past 12 quarters. The Packers shut out the Jets at the Meadowlands. In the past two weeks, they didn’t let two bad teams breathe.
Offensively, it’s been about Rodgers’ dominance — 75-percent passing, seven touchdowns, no picks in the past two weeks — and about the rediscovery of Greg Jennings. A few weeks ago, coach Mike McCarthy saw how Jennings, a legit number one receiver, was being overlooked in the offense week to week, and he began to emphasize more plays for Jennings, more shots for him as the primary target. And he’s exploded since then. Check out the difference in Jennings’ first five games and his second five:

We came here for the knowledge; hope you have time to check out the Packer sites I posted a while ago.
Nobody’s dissing the Falcons up here in God’s country…it’s one game at a time…the only thing that matters is “how we play, not who we play”.

…the only thing wrong with falcons fans is…they’re not Packers fans!
Let’s take the high road Pack fans…represent with class and sportsmanship.
We can act like fools in our own home (and I often do during the games), in front of our own family but not in public…and not here.
Stay classy Green Bay!

Yup, number 5, “Charmin Harmon.” 1968-1973.

He’s obviously a transplant and no longer living the life in God’s country.
But for the most part, most of us are harmless…(packerfans)…and good sports.
I’m retired Navy and have been to Atlanta multiple times (down south in general)…I’m sure your hospitality will be great, as usual.
It’s gonna be an exciting game…that’s for sure. Good luck.

I brought my best bud to Lambeau last year for the Pack v Bears season opener. He was scared to death driving up there (I kept telling him that packer fans are a good bunch) wondering if, when we parked, he was gonna get f***** with during the tailgating portion. I told him not to worry.
We parked amongst equal portions of bear fans and packer fans; no drama but lot’s of bratwurst and beer. He had a great time. Not the case if you wear your Packer jersey at Soldier Field. Ass***** down there!

Quick,
The Pack is probably my second favorite NFL team., but I’ve been a Falcon Fan since day one, 1966 (I was eleven.) But I loved the old Lombardi teams. Read “Instant Replay” when I was twelve, or whatever. I have a little clip of the “Ice Bowl” on the old 8mm. And my cousin, once removed (my Dad’s cousin) was Ray Scott.

There is more to do here then put Cheese on our heads and eat Brats. Plus, I’m never ever late to my seat. In my mind if your not at your seat for the National Anthem you’re late. And missing the N.A. is worse than skipping Church. Trust me a lot of praying goes on in the Dome as it is.

…actually there’s nothing worse than “stupid” packer fan; I’ve lived in Wisconsin (except for service time) my whole life and believe me…there’s some stupid asses up here too.
I’m a Packers fan, I educate myself and of course, played the game in school as well; not a stupid ass.
Good luck guys…I’ll check in later this week when the suspense gets amped up more.

Me too FALCONS FAN since day 1 – 1972 moved from ATL to Miami to be repo man for a Bank group – now in Texas. Cheeseheads always were pretty decent folks during the early days when they came to the games at the old stadium. Also the Packers usually during the old days back then kick our a$$ on a regular bases. This time around I beleive you’ll find a formidable oponent, Falcons should more than cover!!! Don’t mis-understand barring no serious turnovers, on either bench, straight-up the birds should handle this game “NO PROBLEMS”!
GO FALCONS
