FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson returned to practice on Wednesday and has been cleared to play against Tampa Bay.

“I’m ready to rock,” said Robinson, who missed the last game against Cincinnati.

He suffered a concussion when he put a hit on Philadelphia receiver DeSean Jackson on Oct. 17. He was fined $50,000 by the league for the hit, but is appealing the fine.

“That bye week came right on time,” Robinson said. “I was here all week getting myself ready to play. I’m feeling good this week.”

With Robinson and safety Thomas DeCoud back, the Falcons secondary will be a full strength for Tampa Bay. DeCoud suffered a head injury against Cincinnati, but he returned to practice on Monday.

Christopher Owens, who took over at right cornerback for Robinson, can return to his nickel back position.

Robinson is impressed with Tampa Bay.

“It’s just a team that’s playing with a lot of confidence,” Robinson said. “Anytime you get a team like that, they are dangerous because they feel like it’s everything that they do and nothing that you do. We just have to make sure that we rattle a little bit of that confidence.”

SPORTS FBN-FALCONS-EAGLES 17 PHQuarterback Josh Freeman has directed the Buccaneers to four come-from-behind victories this season. In 16 games as a starter, he’s pulled out six games in the fourth quarter.

“They have a quarterback that is playing some amazing football right now,” Robinson said. “His receivers are catching everything. It’s going to be a tough task. We just have to make sure that we get them off course a little bit.”

Robinson didn’t put much stock in the comments made by Tampa Bay coach Raheem Morris about the Bucs being the best team in the NFC.

“That’s just the way that he feels about his team,” Robinson said. “Everybody should feel that their team is the best. He just came out and said it. It’s not really one of those things that we paid too much attention to. We understand that we have to go out there and take care of our business.

“Talking isn’t going to beat anybody at the end of the day. You have to go out there and take care of it on the football field. We have a lot of veterans on this team. We’ve heard it all. We’ve seen it all. Those are the things we don’t really let bother us too much.”

Robinson is not surprised by Tampa Bay’s start.

“Every season brings new challenges,” Robinson said. “So, you don’t know what a team is going to do. There are a lot of teams in the NFC that were predicted to be great and they are struggling right now. You just never know.”

DUNTA ON THE FINE: Robinson hasn’t heard back from the league about the appeal of his fine.

“I’m still hoping to hear back,” Robinson said. “Like I said, I’m confident that it’s going to go my way.”

DUNTA ON DEFENDING THE DOME: “They have to come to our house. Whatever you think about them, the best team or the worst team, they have to come through here and beat us. We don’t think that’s going to happen. Somebody is going to walk out 6-2 and we think it’s going to be us.”

DUNTA ON FREEMAN’S FOURTH QUARTER COMEBACKS: “He’s done a great job. . .He’s won some very close football games. We just have to remain focused. We just have to go out there and do what we do. We can’t worry about his fourth quarter comebacks or what he’s done in the past three or four games. We just have to go out there and play our game.”

DOL, the title of the article says Dunta “hopes” to play TB, but in the article it says he has been “cleared” to play. So has he been cleared or is it still not determined?

Here’s to hoping that the bye week provided the rest needed having two games so close together – Bucs & Ravens. Hopefully the secondary will show up and play with some urgency these next two games and Mularkey won’t revert back to those same old predictable offensive plays.

I`m glad to have Robinson back.
He will play and he will be bringing that forearm shiver too.
Now that all the excitement over the fines and suspension threats have blown over.
The league had to make a statement in an attempt to keep more players healthy.

If Moss clears waivers, then the vikings are on the hook for the remainder of his contract. Then, Moss is free to sign with any other NFL org at the league minimum if he wants, (and assuming somebody still wants to sign him, which would be unlikely if they all passed on him during waviers, except for maybe New England) and still gets paid by the vikings. Sorta like Delhomme in Cleveland, getting paid to play by both the Carolina and Cleveland teams, sweet. If Moss is claimed DURING the waiver process, the team claiming him is then on the hook for his contract salary, no new negotiations are necessary.

The only team to claim Moss, was the Titans.

The Falcons must play the remaining schedule as if they’re playing the Power Ranking’s number one team. If the Falcons play with this mindset then it really doesn’t matter what the opposing team boast about in the media or record wise..

The Falcons must leave it all on the field during each game. LEAVE NO PLAYS WITH REGRET, DEFENSIVELY OR OFFENSIVELY. MAKE THE BEST OF EACH DOWNS. IF YOU GET OUTPLAYED, AT LEAST YOU KNOW THAT YOU GAVE YOUR BEST SHOT!!!

GREAT TO DUNTA AND DeCOUD BACK!! WHAT ABOUT THE SPOON?

The Falcons probably will not need Robinson or Witherspoon against the Bucs. Save them for the Ravens game.

If a player is ready to go, PLAY HIM.

Every game is important, and we have seen too many times, that a good or bad play makes the difference in a lot of games. We need the best players, if healthy. This is football. But of course, if they might end up being out longer if pushed too soon, then save them. We DO have some good depth.

As I Falcon Fan, I’m DEEPLY humbled to host the BEST TEAM IN THE NFC! How DARE the Falcons go up against such a perennial POWERHOUSE like the Bucs!! I mean seriously, their ONLY two losses (Saints & Steelers) were by a NARROW combined margin of 69-19! I just hope that Tampa can take it EASY ON US with such a ferocious offense & defense. We’re so NOT worthy of being on the same field with them. :)

I fear the Bucs, because they are the best team in the NFC. Joke all you want, but at the end of the game you will realize how soft your team really is. You will be eating falcon pie. I do hope Robinson is healthy so we can beat your best. Oh by the way I do believe your team will make the super bowl sitting in the stands. GO BUCS

Who ever win this game(bucs or birds)still will not stamp the best team in the nfc.Me personally,i think right now its the giants. But we have a lot of games left and mid season is just that, mid season. The falcons should win this game because they are tough at home. The falcons and the bucs aint all that so whats all the hype about.

Agree with GR, we will run all over them; when they stack the box, Ryan hits them with play-action deep.
