The way i see it. Mike Smith needs to man up and fire the other Mike and Bill Mussgrave also because if he can’t teach Matt to play action any better than he does he need to be gone also. Now i’m with you that Sam Baker has to do a better job than he’s been doing, but most keep talking about Justin Blaylock as if it’s his fault. I don’t think he’s doing any worst than the rest of the guys there all getting beat too much but the way you call him out as if it’s his fault alone, a race sensitive person sees the race card being played when it’s not. that being said is S.B. any better than Will Svitek Mike Smith needs to make a change here. Now about the draft I get why the feeling is to go out and get the best LT we can get in the draft but here is where i’m difference in my thinking here. I am sick and tired of the best player from schools in GA. playing elsewhere, so i say we sell out and make sure that A.J. Green wares a FALCONS uniform. It was nice to get Michael Jenkins back but he is what we know he is and that’s all. But thats another story for another time of the year, so back to this conservative and predictable it’s O.K . conservative but not predictable, a screen pass can be considered conservative are any other short to medium pass so i don’t have a problem with conservative per se but this being predictable is the problem and Mike S. new that Sam B. wasn’t very good last year that’s why for the life of me when big Floseel Adams just sitting there and they didn’t make an offer to him. But that’s just me and that’s just the way I see it I’m out. RISE UP AND GO FALCONS
charles….now why would you go and make a statement like “a race sensitive person sees the race card being played when it’s not” prey tell? I don’t see Blalocks name mentioned once in this blog until you brought it up. Please, go race bait somewhere else.
i cant disagree with falcon fan, i am sitting in my living room and my cousin and i could tell 98% of the time that what is coming run or pass, no pump fake, only 1 screen, no draw, no wr screen, 2 playaction pass, no deep throw, not benching player who is not perfoming bcz they overpaid them look other teams they will bench their starter for backup if they dont perform, if falcons gonna take next step they need to be straight up, those two de we have is nothin but backup, too light
Predictiablity is only a problem in the red zone, we get close and then we run twice and throw on third down. We have to have better execution and plays, with Gonzales, White and Turner we should be scoring 25 to 27 points a game. Ryan needs to step up and make some plays and mularkey needs to change up his play calling in order to confuse the defense. Sam Baker needs to be pushed this year and let’s call him what he is looking like a bust!
I agree with Mark. I think the main problem ,is we don’t dominate on the line of scrimmage. I think we should change up. have some pass completions on first down, to have the defense guessing.
DLed, What is Thoms D. Position on Mike M? You got to start thinking that his play calling may cost everyone to lose the jobs….eventually… Please give me your take?
D-led, you r looking good but man u need to loosen up a little. You r alittle too stiff in front of the camera.
as far as the play calling i agree that we need to be a little more creative but we also love running the ball down the opponents throat. Yall know we love that. lets not go crazy and start running reverses. How about some screens or play action on 1st down because everyone is looking for us to run it.
The opposing defenses know Atlanta is a “run first” team. So they have adjusted to stop the run and have succeeded many times. Such a defensive response, I would think, results in the offense putting the load on the quarterback and WR’s to take advantage of the run stopping defensive formations by passing first.
But the passing game seems weak? Very few deep passes, for example. Ball catching is not spread around, which could be because the OL is not giving Ryan enough time to check down? Screen passes don’t seem to work? Some gears are missing somewhere?
It’s won’t, not want. But I don’t want to be your teacher. I want to be your shrink and figure out who you are.
Your poor grammar and spelling is almost like Joe Tesh-Phish-Breath. But he is who he is and wouldn’t have the capability of becoming someone else. (God bless him, I don’t intend to be mean. After all, he is the Jr Samples of swamp humor on this blog.)
Now , you could be SeenB4. He impersonates a lot. He has more faces than Eve. His unusual writing structure is not the bad spelling and grammar like yours. So if he is you, he would have to be intentionally doing it. He has done that before with other characters.
So, you could be Seen.
There’s someone I’m not placing. mmmmmmmmmmmm
Sid, cejay, or anyone help me. Who do you think Saints LSU might be? He is obviously not him, so he must be someone else. He reminds me of someone………………..
They’ll probably try to prove you all wrong this week. They might pass the ball DEEP on the first play of the day. Only “deep” now means 1 yd past the 1st down marker, evidently. I don’t understand why they like pass attempts that are short of a 1st down if it’s completed. Would it ruin the route if they ran it a few yards deeper?
They’re doing what Matt Ryan’s arm will allow them to do. He threw 14 ints. last year trying to get the ball down the field. This year they are limiting the mid range and deep ball playing within his capabilites. Any ball Matt throws over 10 yards has air under it, in the NFL a cornerback split second break on the ball is a pick 6.
If a throw didn’t have air under it, it would be a roll.jk
The stats on Ryan prove that he has the arm, he just doesn’t have enough time to make his reads, imo.

Oh, and it’s because Flozell is a prima donna and the Falcons don’t want that kind of person on their roster.
