PHILADELPHIA — Rookie linebacker Sean Weatherspoon has been declared inactive for today’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

Weatherspoon missed the San Francisco game with ankle injury he suffered against the New Orleans Saints.

This will be the second game he’s missed. He suffered the injury last week in the third quarter against Cleveland.

Stephen Nicholas has been announced as the starter.

Also, inactive for the Falcons are cornerback Dominique Franks, running back Gartrell Johnson III, tackle Garrett Reynolds, guard Mike Johnson and defensive end Lawrence Sidbury and defensive tackle Trey Lewis.

John Parker Wilson was designated as the third quarterback for the Falcons

For the Eagles, Michael Vick was declared as their third quarterback. Vick was limited in practice on Friday, before Philadelphia coach Andy Reid announced that Kevin Kolb would be the starter. Rookie Mike Kafka, from Northwestern, will serve as the No. 2 quarterback.

“I’m not going to put him out there if he’s sore and all of that,”
Reid said. “I wouldn’t do that with any player, let along with Michael.”

He is the five DE behind Abe, Beirmann, Chauncey and Jamaal. Sidbury is not injured.

Total lack of team preparation and performance today by the Falcons. Poor coaching , poor quarterback play, poor execution. My opinion is that both coach Smith and Matt Ryan are highly overated. Ryan is at best an average NFL starter who has not shown me he is anywhere near being on the elite level many are giving to him. The Falcons play calling is totally predictable. Ryan cannot make enough plays when things break down to keep drives down. The Eagles totally dominated the game from the beginning and should have scored more. This team will probably make the playoffs but that’s about it.

Matt Ryan are highly overrated

Matt Ryan has a weak arm. and melts under pressure. Better known as melts like ice!Ryan is at best an average . He has little shoulder and can not carry a team!

Easily our worst game of the season. We lost the war in the trenches, and our defensive coordinator was two steps behind their offensive coordinator all game long. WTF was that play when John Abraham dropped back into coverage when we had them down near their own goal line? Dumbest call all game long.

It is REAL OBVIOUS after todays loss in Philadelphia that the Falcons need a better offensive line. Since we are stuck with the cast of characters that we have for this year, hopefully the team will be able to improve the offensive line in the off-season either via free agency or the draft. Ryan doesn’t even have enough time to survey the field before he is being flushed out of the pocket (which for the majority of today’s game there wasn’t a pocket) or being sacked.

Where were the adjustments that should have been made on offense in the second half??????? Everybody in the stadium and at home knew that on 1st down the Falcons are going to run Turner….surprise….NOT!!!!

Nothing worth discussing today. The Falcons were non existant. Griffin High School would have looked just as good today. Total lack of effort on the entire organization’s part.

With all the big plays against the Falcons does this negate Vick’s greatness in those 2+ games. I think so.

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE!!!!
I just got off the phone with Special Agent Bennett of the FBI. I placed a call earlier today to the FBI and GBI, alerting them that a plane load of larcenist were headed to the Atlanta Airport. I informed them that they would be impersonating NFL players and coaches and they planned to steal checks from the AMB Foundation dba the Atlanta Falcons.

Agent Bennett informed me that the suspects were apprehended without incident. They were not armed, were not considered dangerous, put up no kind of fight, and posed no type of flight risk.

Atlanta…. your streets are safe now from those criminals!!!!

No abc123, it negates any thought that the Falcons were ever “elite”.

Way to start out offensively against Cincy. Throw bomb to receiver. Roddy White, Alfred Jenkins or even Tony Gonzalez. Throw crossing rout next. Toss sideline route to Gonzalez or White next. That will pave way for running backs. Why? Cincy defense now in pass defense mindset. What will Falcon fans get instead? Two runs up middle for no yards then an incomplete pass. Mike Dodo style! Book it Dano. STENDEK

Where is the offensive “Genius” that is supposed to be Mike Mularkey??? No screens, not even on hot reads. Running the ball up the middle is important we get it. How about some off tackle stuff? Have Snelling try to make the corner.
As for the defense, FIRE BVG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Games like this is why it’s so hard to be a Falcons fan and it gives certain idiots all the right in the world to bash Ryan and everyone else and keep on bringing up old #7. Dude he’s gone! Move your azz to Philly!!!
