If the Falcons think that they are functioning at 5 or 6, on a scale of 1 to 10, when they get up to 8 to 10, it is going be very hard for their opposition to stop them.

That’s fun Sid…the top 5-10 are easy but after that well let’s just say there are some mediocre teams out there.

Taints are near the bottom of my mediocre list. Losing to the Cardinals HA HA HA.

Concerning the saints game, I would not say that they stole it, it’s more of a case, that the Falcons repo-ed it.
The Falcons beat the saints up, for 2/3 of the game.
They gave the saints a chance to beat them 2 twice, at the end of game and in OT.
The saints choked.
Then the Falcons took the game back, by ramming the ball down the pitiful saints throats, for the win.

D-Led, why have you banned HiramSaint, SeenthisB4 and the other members of the Who Dat nation who frequent our blogs. I would really like to read their thoughts right now.

DOL, RE your current column – the Falcons trailed the Broncos going into the 4th quarter in week 11 of 2008 – 14-13. They lost 24-20 and were only 6-4 after that game. They won 5 of the last 6 to finish 11-5. So that game was a sort of watershed.

The game you are referring to was week 14 of 2008 against the Saints – the Falcons led 17-16 going into the 4th quarter. They lost, 29-25, when Pierre Thomas had both a TD reception and run.

Sly, they have been on a little bit. hiram was pretty reasonable, but SeenB4 was SeenB4.

(I told B4 to “keep to high standards and be an irritant with dignity.” HA HA HA HA HA HA)

The Falcons defense has been playing good consistent football this season. Hopefully the offense can develop the same consistency.

Yeah, I got a kick out of it too. I found the same thing, 1-10 wasn’t difficult to even mirror the so called “experts” and “fans” but after that was tough.

Welcome back, when will you let us know who you “were”…….obviously one of those sad sacked
fans from that 3rd place team in the NFC South.

Falcon Jim, there was an imitator of Seen but since Arizona put the Saints down Seen has not been on here. And I believe you said Hiram was on another blog, not this one.

I think we are going to enjoy watching Arizona’s Max Hall grow into a pro QB………..undrafted, this dude had a 137.7 QB rating at BYU. He was the QB when they beat 3rd ranked Oklahoma in 09′. He took a few snaps against the Birds in Game 2 but without success. His uncle happens to be Danny White, yes, THAT Danny White.

Shhhh, don’t anybody tell ESPN and the NFL HDQ that the Falcons are 10th in popularity, they might try to piggyback on the ride. It’s been said plenty of times, never hurts to stay under the radar.

I would agree with 5 or 6 on a scale of 1 to 10, the offense has got to get in the endzone with greater frequency. Sunday’s game was close as was the Sanfran game, but if the offense puts it in the endzone 1 or 2 times in either game then we win going away. DLed any explanations given on why we are stalling inside the 20 or even the 10 yard line? Cleveland took a page out of Sanfran’s game plan and droped everyone into coverage and we had no answers. Are we counting on Gozales and White to do to much. What about a screen or draw play? Need to convert aginst better offenses are we will not win, even with a defense playing at their current level.

Sly Ty

With Mike Jenkins returning to the line up the running game should be even more steady, especially inside the redzone. Also, MJ is a threat on the medium square in and mid post routes. His size and moderate speed give the Iceman more options as a 3rd target. Obviously Tony Gonzales and Rowdy Roddy White are 1a and 1b options. RISE UP!!!!

I hope the team is enjoying the ride, they have earned it.They still need to keep focus on the big picture.I know alot of people are waiting for the ax to fall on them, not me I’m taking it one game at a time and loving the right now.I understand given the history of them. But I look and see a much better team than I used to.If the season keeps going the way it is now,we will need to add another bandwagon or 12.Just keep in mind a fan is a fan no matter how the team is doing.

I’m still not impressed of the Falcons offense. I was expecting more from them against the Browns, and at this point from the Quarterback position. I was EXPECTING this to be an explosive offense with the talent they have. Even though they are 4-1, I don’t think this will take them deep into the playoffs until the offense opens up more, productively.

Mike Jay

October 12th, 2010
7:09 pm

Why were you expecting more out of the offense against the Browns? Falcons are still missing their #2 WR and their change of pace RB, plus the Browns defense is pretty solid. They have not been blown out yet. Before the Falcons game they had lost 4 games by a combined 14 points and given up 24 pts as a high. It’s their offense that is lousy.

Coach Smith seems to have the team’s minds right heading into Philly–humble but hungry–and the team seems to be responding to Smith’s even-keeled approach. Even when reporters are trying to get a rise out of him(asking about Andy Reids’ trotting out of Michael Vick last year in Atlanta just to add insult to injury when he was down)in hopes of getting a quote, Smitty easily avoided the bait and said something about the 24 hour rule and brought the discussion right back to This week’s game. As a fan, I felt it was a show of disrespect to everything this city, franchise and fanbase had gone through due to #7’s failure to give 100% while he was supposed to be the face of the franchise. Just like Vick, Reid was giving us the “finger” in the Georgia Dome and I hope to see us return the favor in spades Sunday….

good comeback red- i really mean that as i wasn’t expecting to much from a bandwagon jumper. you’ll be gone by mid-season along with the others and the real falcons fans will still be here like they always have- win or lose

Mike Jay….As I said….I’m still not impressed of the Falcons offense. And you agreed at the end of your paragraph. Even in the Pittsburgh game, in which they should have won, the offense did not show up even though the opponent had a unproven QB. When another teams starting QB is out, and you are expected to go DEEEEP into the playoffs this year and you lost to that team is not a very confident thought. To me anyways!! Sure we can say that Pitt played great defense but is it that is was that the offense did not play up to par? The Pittsburgh’s , etc are the team you suppose to beat. Even the Saints win wasn’t impressive. But a win is a win as they say.
