Defensive Kroy Biermann has missed the last two days of practice. He might have "tweaked" something.
FLOWERY BRANCH – Defensive end Kroy Biermann did not practice on Sunday or Monday.
He looked fine and wasn’t wearing a brace, boot or sling.
He might be just getting some rest and might not be injured at all.
Or he could have “tweaked” something, but we’ll never know.
Falcons coach Mike Smith is not announcing injuries until he has to release a league-mandated injury report on Wednesday before the first game. He said he would continue to announce major injuries as they occur.
So, since we don’t have an announcement on Biermann, we can reasonable conclude that the sackmaster of the preseason will be a game-time decision on Thursday with some ailment or another.

Nah, his injury is probably a complete lack of need to participate in the final preseason game. Rest up for Pittsburgh.

Bierman is the kind of player that needs to be protected from himself. He goes 100mph with a motor that never quits. Smitty is, hopefully, just giving him so needed down time. I wish all of our Falcons had a motor like his.

Same old crap on injuries, the falcons management is snake-bitten on all the players they draft with injury histories that they won’t comment on any injuries now. I guess they can’t handle the heat from the fans questions or media questions either. bummer we can’t be informed on players status, remember Coach Smith the fans pay good hard cash to attend and watch the falcons so be a little open minded to us fans!

The NFL network replay of the game was the Miami feed with their announcers (Bob Griese, etc.). They mentioned something late in the game about Bierman not returning to play due to a suspected concussion. Anyone else hear that?

@Beck who wrote: “he’s quite possibly the most solid player on our entire team”
I agree…but tell me why our coaches refuse to start him. He’s an unrestricted FA after next season. Do you really think he’s going to stick around on a team where he outplays the person in front of him but the coaches continue to insult him? Don’t think so. A smart team like the Patriots or Colts will pick him up and start him, not have him third on the depth chart….geez. He’s outplayed all of the DEs including Abraham but our coaches refuse to acknowledge it.

Hi, I like computers and playing World of Warcraft. I enjoy my 5 minutes in the sun each day when I walk to the corner and watch little boys get off the school bus. I live with my mother who does my laundry and loves to fix me sandwiches. I’m 5′6″, 270 lbs, slightly bald, and smoke. My favorite food is food. My favorite drink is Mt. Dew. My favorite animal is unicorn. My favorite sport is World of Warcraft and the NO Saints. If this sounds interesting to you and you would like to get to know me, email me at WoW_SaintsHomer@gmail.com.

wow over react much? Football is a brutal sport and injuries happen. Not reproting injuries unles they have to is standard practice for every team out there. Some temas even get in trouble for not fully disclosing them. So take a chill pill and check your ego. I promise the coaches are not keeping their lips sealed about this just to piss you off.

I’m excited and looking forward to this season. I feel that with everyone healty we can return to a power running game and that the defense will be much improved over last year’s. I like our formula from 2008 of taking an early lead and then grinding the game out. Might not win by scoring 35 points per game, but only the fantasy geeks should be bothered by that.

Have you noticed how these AINTS fans refuse to even casually mention last yrs SORRY 25th RANKED DEF, or the fact it has lost 2 of its biggest play makers, OLB SFujita and FS DSharper, who they were forced to resign even though he’s 35yrs old and recovering from major knee surgery. The truth is, no other team even showed interest in signing him, other than the desperate AINTS.
What does it say about the DEF depth and talent of the AINTS when they can’t find a single player on their roster to replace a 35yr old FS that’s coming off major knee surgery? Or, they have to sign a 32yr old 9yr vet FA DE to replace a 32yr 9yr old vet DE.
The Falcons can rely on both their OFF and DEF to win gms, while the AINTS can only rely on their OFF. No more luck, no more big plays, no more catching teams by surprise, and no more Super Bowls or division championships. Your team is old and getting older, you have little depth and talent beyond your starting OFF. YOUR TIME HAS PASSED!

The league has just instituted a whole raft of precautionary measures for teams and players regarding concussion. Ya’ll try not to make more out of this than it is….
As for coach Smith not being forthcoming about injured players, he hasn’t changed a bit from his 1st year here. The NFL requires teams to file official injury reports once a week and that’s the only time Smith will give out such information. If you think Smitty is tight with injury info, check out Belichick and some of the other head coaches around the league. Compared to some of these guys Mike is positively chatty. Why give out strategic info to your next week’s competitor if you don’t have to? Loose lips sink ships….

Coaches are just being cautious most likely – don’t look for him to play this week.

@Sid… Whoa.. Philly at the bottom of the div.. Don’t think thats gonna happen. They still got playmakers over there and Kevin Kolb aint no slouch. The Giants are in disarray and with Mcnabb out at least four games a yr due to injury, I say Philadelphia finishes no less that second in that Div, then Wash, then Giants.
Think Green Bay, then Minnesota in that Division. Brett not gone make it through the season. If he does, it aint gonna be pretty!! Aaron Rodgers has arrived!! Other than that, you aight!!!

I have been a Bierman fan from the first time I saw him play for Atlanta. Even when nobody else knew his name I was saying that he reminded me of Patrick Kearney. He is still developing into an every down type of DE. He is bigger than last year, and that should help him this year. As for him wanting to leave for another team, think again. Why would he want to have to play every down to get his sacks, when he can rotate and come in on the best “sack” situations. Lets face it, they talk about the number of sacks you have…not the number of snaps!

@bcinbuford: Yep, most competitors I know don’t really want to start at their position….they would rather be listed as third string and watch a clearly inferior player start each game. I’m sure if the Patriots called his agent and said “we would like the Beerman to come up here and start at DE for us and be an every down guy” his agent would reply “no thanks, the Beerman would prefer to be third string and get less pay than the dolt who is starting in front of him”….LMAO.
