William Moore is expected back at practiceon Saturday and could play against Miami.

A slew of Falcons are set to return to action when the team returns to practice on Saturday.

Safety William Moore, who’s been listed as day to day with a groin injury by Falcons coach Mike Smith, is set to return and could see action against Miami in the third exhibition game next Friday.

“He’s my roommate,” rookie linebacker Sean Weatherspoon said. “He said he’s been feeling pretty good. He’s really excited about this upcoming week because he’s going to get an opportunity to get out there. He’s starting to feel pretty good. He’s excited about it.”

Moore, since being drafted in the second round of the 2009 draft, has had a hard time staying healthy. He missed last season with knee and hamstring injuries. He was slowed during offseason workouts and again early in training camp with the groin injury.

“He was talking about it last night and he’s just ready to get out there,” Weatherspoon said. “We look forward to getting him out there.”

Cornerback Dunta Robinson (hamstring), defensive tackle Peria Jerry (knee), cornerback Brian Williams (knee) and running back Jerious Norwood (hip) are all expected to return against the Dolphins.

Atlanta fans are terrible. It’s the PRESEASON. No one gameplans or cares. It’s like spring training in baseball. It’s not a big deal. What till week 5-6 and then we will see what kind of team we have. And go support the braves instead of sitting infront of your computers.

Hiram…..you have nothing to brag about your team either this pre-season. All I know is the Falcons got their butts handed to them by the Pats. Sad to hear Meier is out for trhe season.

@hiramsaint: Yeah, I watched it. If you were a little brighter you’d realize that the specific information I posted demonstrated that. Since you have trouble with that, I’ll try to keep the rest of the argument simple (yeah, you deserved that).

Look, I’ll be the first to say congrats to the Saints for last year, and to say that your team looks darn good. After a history of absolute futility, it’s great to see that any team can turn it around, and rather quickly. The Saints played well last year and won. Sit on that. Enjoy it. To show up here and pick fights is really a sign of your own insecurity. I’m not sure why you feel the need to bait fans of your rivals instead of discussing what’s easily the highpoint in your team’s experience with people who love and care about Saints football. Revel in it. I’m sure not going over to a Saints board and posting BS about the Saints. Go rebuild a house in NO. Help some folks enjoy a great sports time in NO. But get the heck out of ATL if all you have is a pissy little 5th garde a

ooooooh- someone had a whole bowlful of sourgrapes.i’m not pickin’ fights j all i’m sayin is that you can’t see whats going with your team because it’s been all hype and now the reality is setting in that you may not just walk in and grab the lombardi. and now , suddenly, everyone that said this year is ours has turned on their team like a hooker who turns on her sugardaddy when the money runs out. at least we stick with our team when they stink and don’t throw them under the bus – you excluded. i commend you for that because it is preseason and not the playoffs- you seem to be 1 of the few who understand that. i do have to rib you a bit ’cause we got it last week too !

Meier was a bigger loss than it sounds. Regardless, once Robinson (and a few others) step on the field, we’ll have a decent season barring injury. We’ll go 11-5.

Sigh. hate to see Meir go down he was looking promising. Time to comb over the FA wire to see what scrub WR’s are left (hint: none). Tony Bergeron looked pretty good imo. Better than Weems. Maybe one of the other youngsters will step up?
DOL, haven’t ehard much about the other rookie WR’s. Any word on their progress? Specifically Wolfe and Harvey?

realbird,
Not sure what a training staff con do to prevent a torn knee in a non contact situation. Just one of those things. Blame Lady Luck and maybe the turf.

Yes, it was just a preseason game. No Dunta, no Williams, not even little Grimes. I want to see what the team looks like when Jerry is playing, and with our full compliment of DBs. Although I like to see the 2nd and 3rd stringers do well, I’m not going to panic when they don’t.

Yeah, we couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down. That was upsetting to see, but we were playing with an depleted secondary, and got no pressure with backup line. And yes…it was the Patriots throwing to Moss and Welker.

Lots of room to improve, lots of excuses to make. Let’s not panic quite yet.

This blog is three days old so I’m sure nobody’s reading anymore but here’s my two cents: J’s put it best – if we were trying to win this game there was lots more we could have done aka playing some of the guys that are 95% that we’re saving for next week. They tried some plays and tried some new guys to see how they worked. How about this since nobody’s mentioned it: I am definitelly not a fan of JAnderson but I really think we missed his big frame this game – he would have stuffed some of those runs…ok now u may start casting stones ;)

Wasn’t the Falcons hiring of a new team physical trainer design to cut-back on team injuries?

Are the wide-outs part of his training?

Hopefully, the team can avoid losing its proven key cog players.

IM TRYING TO GIVE WILLIAM MOORE THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. BUT, IM SICK OF HIM! THIS LEAGUE HAS VERY LITTLE TOLERANCE FOR PLAYERS WHO CANT STAY ON THE FIELD!ITS TIME FOR HE AND NORWOOD TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP! JUST PLAY A FULL 16 GAME SCHEDULEAND MANY FANS WOULD BE SATISFIED ON WHY WE DRAFTED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE! GETTING HURT IN MINI-CAMPS AND TRAINING CAMP AINT COOL DUDE! INJURIES HAPPEN, BUT, THIS IS A PATTERN! PROVE US ALL WRONG!

Guys need to chill on Moore. Injuries happen. It’s like you guys think he’s faking it. Hamstring he had last year takes a while it heal and certainly don’t want someone trying to cover a speedster while dealing with that. So what, we had to wait a year to see his skills. Better way to look it as we basically get extra high draft rookies this year in him & Jerry. I trust TD.

i really hope he pans out cause decoud is set and coleman is just a stand in as of now. i really didnt want TD to draft him(let alone in the 2nd rd) but il give him a shot. And whats with us drafting a huge amount of Big 12 players.
