FLOWERY BRANCH — Defensive end Jamaal Anderson (left knee) and cornerback Brent Grimes (groin) may not play against the New England Patriots at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Georgia Dome.
Both players will be game time decisions, according to coach Mike Smith.
Grimes did not practice against the Patriots on Tuesday. Anderson suffered a helmet hit to his left knee in Tuesday’s afternoon practice. He left and did not return. Both participated lightly in the team’s walk-through practice Wednesday morning.
“He left practice yesterday and he’s a little sore today,” said Smith of Anderson. “But everybody is a little sore at this time in camp. We’ll see where he is. There are a number of guys and we’ll make a decision a couple of hours before the game on whether if they are going to play or not.”
Chauncey Davis will likely get the bulk of Anderson’s snaps. Chevis Jackson and Dominique Franks will get Grimes’ snaps if he’s unable to play.
Last week, 11 players did not dress for the exhibition opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Potentially, we’ll have the same number of guys sitting out for week two that we had for week one,” Smith said.
Players not expected to play include safety William Moore (groin), cornerback Brian Williams (knee), cornerback Dunta Robinson (hamstring) and defensive tackle Peria Jerry (knee).
Wide receiver Harry Douglas is slated to play.

B4 keeps looking for weeds in the Falcons yard when his own is littered with garbage, rusting cars and canine droppings everywhere you step. Last time I checked, the Falcons don’t have any players lost for the season, forcing us to reach for a RB with an ACL tear(Betts), nor do they have any guys on the PUP list(Sharper, Ingram)neither is their star TE fainting like a little girl, rolling around on the locker room floor with seizures, nor is our DC referring to our #1 draft pick as his “whipping boy” due to lack of performance/preparation. The falcants are brittle. Pure and simple. The entire off-season all that the falcants fans ever posted was if they hadn’t had so many injuries last year, they would have beaten the Saints both times and blah, blah, blah. Here’s another story on the possiblity of 11 falcants being out AGAIN for the second pre-season game due to injury. So obviously, if you all were incessantly professing the problem your mediocre team had last year with injuries, if D.O.L. is still writing stories about the number of walking wounded plaguing your team who are being held out, and if you wimpy guys are now sitting back and proclaiming that the current wounded SHOULD be held back to heal for the opener, then it must mean that not much has changed, that the falcants are still heavily prone to injury.

Still think Moore is a waste of a roster spot at this point. I mean the dude’s legs have to be the worst of any 20 something DB in the NFL. Is it the front office not wanting to release him and admit failure or does he have some dirt on someone? Any other player unproven through 2 years would have been shown the door by many other organizations. An especially when DB is our weakest link they should be letting someone else take his place. Anyone else tired of a 2nd round pick just eating up space and cap to be ALWAYS hurt?

Falcons Fans,
Have any of you ever been to New Orleans? I have, maybe 30+ times for various meetings and conventions. So, let me tell you, other than some really good restaurants here and there, these people have absolutely nothing to look forward to or be proud of living in this smelly, degenerate cesspool of a city other than good food and the Saints.
So, let them enjoy their Saints now, as after this season they only thing they’ll have left to brag about is the food! They truly deserve our pity!

Obviously you have no idea what I’m saying as I’m talking about today’s reality not yesterday’s fleeting glory–seems I know more about your team than you, hiram and tess put together–otherwise you wouldn’t be on here showing your ignorance about which team is in worse shape injury-wise. Read a newspaper instead of a blog occasionally…..

Larry: I have not been to atlanta anywhere near as often as you have been to New Orleans, but the best thing about atlanta, was leaving atlanta. Nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there. As for as New Orleans being a smelly, degenerate cesspool of a city, atlanta is no piece of heaven either. I know it, and you know it. Assumming you even live in atlanta, which you probably don’t, you really have not much to brag about, because in atlanta, even the food is mediocre.

waynester: I don’t question how much knowledge you have at your command about the Saints, frankly, I really don’t care if you are their contracted historian. The fact is, that you and your buddies want to constantly remind us about the paper bags but you turn around and want us to forget about the current championship year. If that’s not talking out of both sides of your mouth, then what is? Nawh, the truth is, that you can’t sell it. The truth is, that you can’t get your head around the fact that the Saints are the Champs. The truth is, that the championship is pretty diffcult to “put down”, especially since it is something all of you are after. So, you go after the paper bags and try to dismiss the championship. LOL! Uh-huh. Yeah, that’s pretty weak,…and brittle. Just like the failure falcants, weak and brittle.

Inconvenient facts that you will continue to ignore:
Players out for the year NO 1 ATL 0
Players on PUP list NO 2 ATL 0
Players fainting NO 1 ATL 0
#1 picks in coaches’ doghouse NO 1 ATL 0
You just got 2 receivers back off IR–we just got 1 back.

The Defensive Coordinator for the saints has issued a warning to Brett Farve, and the QBs of all of their opponents in 2110, that the saints defense are going to be gunning for him and them, as they did in the 2009 NFC Championship game, with the late hits and cheap shots that the saints hit Favre with, and the officials ignored.
