FLOWERY BRANCH — Defensive end Jamaal Anderson (left knee) and cornerback Brent Grimes (groin) may not play against the New England Patriots at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Georgia Dome.
Both players will be game time decisions, according to coach Mike Smith.
Grimes did not practice against the Patriots on Tuesday. Anderson suffered a helmet hit to his left knee in Tuesday’s afternoon practice. He left and did not return. Both participated lightly in the team’s walk-through practice Wednesday morning.
“He left practice yesterday and he’s a little sore today,” said Smith of Anderson. “But everybody is a little sore at this time in camp. We’ll see where he is. There are a number of guys and we’ll make a decision a couple of hours before the game on whether if they are going to play or not.”
Chauncey Davis will likely get the bulk of Anderson’s snaps. Chevis Jackson and Dominique Franks will get Grimes’ snaps if he’s unable to play.
Last week, 11 players did not dress for the exhibition opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Potentially, we’ll have the same number of guys sitting out for week two that we had for week one,” Smith said.
Players not expected to play include safety William Moore (groin), cornerback Brian Williams (knee), cornerback Dunta Robinson (hamstring) and defensive tackle Peria Jerry (knee).
Wide receiver Harry Douglas is slated to play.

You’re team had squad while ours was just being wasted, no GM, Mike Vick I mean we were basically building a whole new football team……..in rebuilding stages since then we’ve gotten a new GM, new coach and a new QB at that a rookie drafted QB not a proven vet in Brees so come on with all your superior talk cause you lucked up and got you a bowl, now Reggie has no Kim, sharpers too old and slow and peep this, you guys WON’T make the playoffs……….1. ATL, 2. Tampa Bay 3. N.O. 4 CAR…………..NUFF SAID

Joneboro Slim….. the Panthers and the Bucs got up enough speed to beat the saints, last year. I see no reason why they can’t beat them again in 2010.
I truly believe that the saints will finish last in the NFC South.

If I was Sean Payton, I would put a muzzle on my Defensive Coordinator’s mouth, before he gets Brees’s head knocked off of his shoulders.

The Defensive Coordinator for the saints has issued a warning to Brett Farve, and the QBs of all of their opponents in 2110, that the saints defense are going to be gunning for him and them, as they did in the 2009 NFC Championship game, with the late hits and cheap shots that the saints hit Favre with, and the officials ignored.

Although I don’t believe that the NFL officials are going to make many calls in the saints favor in 2010(as the NFL has let N.O. have their SB win), I do think that if the saints start landing a lot of late hits and cheap shots on their opponents QBs, their opponents defense will surely pay it back to the saints, and Brees will be the one collecting the payback.

And as most everyone knows, as Brees goes so goes the saints.
Brees carried the saints last year and if the saints lose him, they don’t have a prayer.

Jonesboro Slim: The boys in Minnesota, Giantland, Philadelphia, Indy, Dallas, Carolina, etc. know me well. You’re the amateur, in fact, you’re “typical”. You and rekingball act like you own this free public ball, but you don’t. If I wanted, I could hijack every single one of these falcant stories, but I choose not to, in preference to causing havoc at the othere team sites, besides I really do like to read your fans opinions and thoughts about your team.
And the sorry falcants were the only team in our division that DIDN’T beat the Saints last year; too bad your team can only claim to play the Saints tough. But that’s not the objective, the objective is to win.

rekingball- if those teams don’t want us beating up their qb’s, then their o lines ought to keep us out of their backfields. herm edwards says “you play to win the game”. it’s not patty cake it’s football and if you ever played, which you didn’t, you’d understand.

seenthis b4, the falcons were 1 game out of the playoffs, even though we had alot of injuries. not just injuries to some starter, but 66% of our offense. even then we were 1 or 2 plays away from beating the saints twice. say what you want but you know at the end of the season last year you were praying the falcons didnt make the playoffs, because you werent convinced the Aints could beat them three times in one year.

if Moore EVER gets on the field in a game, he better freakin BLOW somebody up. all i hear on monday and tuesday is how hard he is pushing coleman for his job, then on wed and thur all we hear is he wont suit up for the next game. i know we want everyone healthy for the start of the season, but i know peewee players that play thru more adversity.
