FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson suffered a slight hamstring injury and missed Sunday’s practice.
“He was out today because of a tight hamstring,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “He’s going to be like all of our guys like Todd McClure and Tony Gonzalez, we’re going to manage those guys. Right now, we are going to see how he feels (Monday) and see if he’s ready to go.”
Robinson was the team’s major offseason pick-up. He was signed as a free agent to a six-year $57.5 million contract.
He’s slated to start at one of the cornerback spots. He joined the team on the field for the last half hour of practice.
Also, tight end Colin Peek suffered a right knee strain that will not require surgery.

Thanks for the injury updates – seems on the Peek update we could still use more info – is he day to day or much longer?

He showed what he can do yesterday, lets let him take it easy, its a long hot camp. He will be just fine. I’m more concerned about last years 1st round pick whats the news on him. We need that stud on the line. Go Falcons

Mr. Ledbetter,
Has Troy Bergeron continued to look impressive? I was beyond impressed at Friday’s afternoon practice.

Wait, …did I read these guys paid Dumbo Robinson $57.5 million? You got to be kidding me. Somebody tell me these fools back-ended that contract. How much of that was guaranteed?

Be glad he’s not a horse. I think they use to shoot them. boy would that be a waste of 57.5 mil.

Hey DOL,
does it look like Peek has a chance to make this team? Cause an undrafted rookie need all the reps he can make. An injury like this is more than just a ‘Set back’ for guys in his position.

Right on que Donta. It’s a long hot summer so why go out there and get blown up in practice by some of these WRs? I ain’t mad and you all should not be either. If someone gave you $57 million would you jeapordize that? Didn’t think so. The preseson is way too long and Goodell and his henchmen know it. Shorten it up to two weeks like they want to then you will see the “tight” hammies “magically” disappear from around the league.

SeenthisB4…why do you care about Robinsons contract? It is not coming out of your acct! You are about the most negative young lady that ever posts here. Why so much doom and gloom, don’t you like anything about sports?

Paddy: Is your Sports Bra on too tight?
I don’t care about Robinson’s contract, if the falcants won’t to pour all their money down the drain, that’s their perocative. Oh and to answer your question, I don’t like anything about the falcants, not a thing, not their team, not their coaches, not their owner, not their colors, nothing, but I do enjoy harassing their fans.

People with low self esteem and mother issues often inject themselves into situations and places where their opinions are not wanted and their presence is little more than mild annoyance. These are wannabe sociapathes who do not have the intelligence or the cojones to function in the real world. So they troll the blogosphere looking for people to harass in order to pad their since of self worth. But if nobody cares and nobody is annoyed, they revert to what they have always been-nothing.
