As one who has defended MV7 as a victim of being politically incorrect, although breaking the law and deserving to be punished rightly, but mostly for offending folks sensibilities, I must now say that this is worse. The reason is that he was beginning to get himself over the junk of the past, and now with this mess he is giving all of his haters a legitimate reason to mouth off that they were right all along. He is making his humility look like a put on.

Consequently, Roddy needs to stay away if he does not want the negative press and Bird fans to get on him. Roddy, please stay away from MV7. I know you went to help at a camp, kudos, but if MV7 is involved from now on, stay at home!

Roddy needs to be careful. In reading what Vick has said and watching what he has done since leaving prison, I’ve been highly skeptical about whether he was sincere in changing or not. This party was a dumb idea that raises my doubts even higher. Dude, have a few people over to the house. Vincent Jackson’s character does not fit the Falcons. San Diego isn’t looking to trade him because his ability doesn’t fit their offense, he has become detrimental to their team. Maybe he isn’t as flamboyant as T.O. but he obvisously has become a distraction in San Diego.

The ONLY thing Vick did wrong was use poor judgment. Unfortunately for him, this is his main problem and is proof he is NOT a changed person. It does not matter when he left, or the fact he was not involved in the shooting. What matters is he felt it was OK to have a large party, in a public place. I can’t believe Dungy did not tell him this would not be a good idea. Since I don’t know for certain, I can’t absolutely say Vick wasn’t warned. Just the same, after spending almost 2 years in jail and losing 2 seasons in the NFL, Vick should know he is not an ordinary citizen and he must take extreme care of his public image by STAYING out of the public!

Some people will think MV7 is a god, even if he was caught redhanded going “Jeff Dahmer” on a victim. So it’s pointless to have an honest discussion with such folks. So why bother. The bottom line is that even though Vick was not the trigger man, he will suffer from the little boy who cried wolf syndrome. For all you complaining about Ben not doing any time and Mike doing time..Maybe that’s because there was no evidence against Ben like there was Mike. Did you ever stop to think for a second that our system no longer works on innocent until proven guilty..it is guilty until proven innocent. I think Ben was proven innocent of the charge he was against.

Just a reminder, the last time that dummy #7 was in trouble. Reports came out very slowly. A house he owned for his family was used for dogfighting. I remember hearing that Mike was never there, he only owned the place. Then the truth eventually trickled out. Mike could be innocent this 1 time (for all we know) but his track record tells me to stay tuned. Let’s calla spade a spade. Obviously one of Vick homies decided to get even with “Q”Philips for ratting him out. Whether Vick was stupid enough to greenlight this, we don’t know. Whether one of Vick’s homies acted on his own, we also don’t know. WHAT WE DO KNOW, is that this don’t look good for Vick. That’s waht happens when you “keep it real”. An unidentified eyewitness told the newspaper that shooting victim Quanis Phillips, a codefendant in the Vick dogfighting case, tapped or slapped on the hand of Vick’s fiancee, Kijafa Frink, as she fed Vick cake. He said little cake touched Vick’s face, but words were exchanged. Unnamed witnesses gave the New York Post a similar account.

Guadalajara restaurant spokesman Allen Fabijan said owners turned over surveillance video to Virginia Beach police Tuesday morning after establishing a timeline that conflicts with that outlined to media by Vick’s attorney, Larry Woodward.

Fabijan said that two cars carrying Vick, a Philadelphia Eagles quarterback from Newport News, “and his entourage” drove off from in front of the restaurant at 2:07 a.m. Three minutes later, shots rang out from the direction the cars had gone, Fabijan said.

“You can see everybody duck at 2:10,” Fabijan said of bystanders on the video. “I’m not saying that Michael Vick did the shooting. But he did not leave (long) before” as Woodward said his client told police Monday.

“I stand by what I said, that Michael was long gone before the shooting, does not know who did the shooting and had nothing to do with the shooting,” Woodward said Tuesday. “Anyone who says any different better be very careful.”

Police are investigating the shooting, which wounded Quanis Phillips, a co-defendant of Vick’s in a federal dogfighting case that sent both men to jail. Phillips was treated and released from a Virginia Beach hospital Friday.

Fabijan also disputed Woodward’s claim that security removed Phillips from the party, which attracted approximately 300 guests, including, Fabijan said, Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall and Olympic track gold medalist LaShawn Merritt.

“We know of no incident between him and Michael Vick,” Fabijan said of Phillips. “It was a flawless night until the shooting.”

Under terms of federal probation, Vick and Phillips are prohibited from associating with felons. Fabijan said he does not know whether the video shows Vick and Phillips interacting.

“I couldn’t point out Quanis Phillips,” he said.

The NFL also is investigating the incident, and Commissioner Roger Goodell could suspend Vick if he determines Vick violated his probation or the league’s personal conduct policy.

I read yesterday that MV7 lawyer said that he left about 10 to 20 minutes before the shooting occured… now today reports come out today saying that MV7 left 3 minutes before the shooting… I have to ask a question to all of you! WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? Whether it was 3 minutes or 20 minutes..the point is that he left BEFORE the shooting happened which lets you know that he wasn’t there at the time and the incident occurred. Your moniker indicates you do not have a clue that Vick was released from prison July 20, 2009. I am certain I am not the only one that wouldn’t be upset if Ben Rothlisberger lost a testicle or two but I won’t let you say “no one cares” and speak for me. Rothlisberger will lose $473,529 for every game he is suspended and the Steelers have an option to tap into his signing bonus if they choose to. Rothlisberger wasn’t prosecuted because the victim chose not to pursue a legal avenue. Prosecutors are not going to pursue cases when they don’t have a high percentage chance of winning the case. In Vick’s case he committed a federal offense and that is an entirely different arena than local criminal court. Face it “Mr Free Mike Vick”, the man has a $100 Million dollar contract and decides to invest his money in an illegal enterprise (across state lines to boot). Now this just reeks of higher intelligence. And in Ben’s case, if I were that girls father, I would hunt him down like a dog….(hmmm, bad choice of words). Publically I’ll just say to have a few words. One last note, if the girl collected a nice pay day from Ben well good for her. Rothlisberger is as stupid as Vick but I would be hard pressed to argue which of the two would win the “I am the bigger idiot” award.

Does anyone really believe that Vick didn’t have a hand in this incident? I will bet you the Feds are going to look deep into this and when they do, Vick ends up back in prison. No way they let this one go since both of these guys are on federal probation, and neither are supposed to be near the other.

Roddy has been caught in a lie revealed by the club’s security video. Now, our advice to him is “be honest?” Too late (in my opinion). He has continued to pal around with a convicted felon who is on probation. I have not trusted White since he lifted his jersey to reveal that “Free Mike Vick” t-shirt during a Monday night game. Trust me on this folks, there is always a pattern with unethical individuals. They are always caught because they have to tell more lies to cover their previous ones. Mike was not trying to have any contact with this guy. But like many other idiotic brother’s out there, even after getting his childhood friend in trouble he feels Vick owes him something (what that is who knows, he never played a down on the field). This guy is the one who should be locked up they both have the same probation terms as stated in their plea bargains. He came around Vick, looking for trouble & found in the form of a bullet. If a lot of people at the party knew this, Vick could not control their actions. I would like to think Roddy is good people. Though, I don’t know him well enough. Of course I said “Good Friends” which has little to nothing to do with weither a person is good or bad in the moral sense. I consider my ‘good’ friends to be folks whom I know well and have my best interest at heart. When you charge $50 to anyone who wants to attend your party chances are that some of them well not only not be good friends also not good people. And that is the crux of the problem. Vick should be extra careful whom he d He needs deals with and especially whom he hangs out with. He needs to dissasociate himself from supposedly good friends whom to not have his best interest in their minds but only their own. I would have hoped Vick would have learned this lesson by now but it appears he has not.

This whole story is like an onion. The tapes will be the only truth in this whole mess I would imagine. I’m not saying Vick did the shooting or told anybody to do it. That’s baiting? LOL Oh…I see, its preferable to actually NOT write facts, but conjecture and speculation without even an opinion from a criminal defense attorney that has worked in the federal courts or someone that has actually worked in the DOJ on probation violations before…or even a comment from a representative of the NFLPA.

DOL, tell your editor to defend that, because you’re clearly not capable. The AJC by its OWN records, did not investigate what happened at Kerney’s house. They did NOT report on either the ongoing investigation or any conclusion (if there is one, because the case may still be open, per the lack of information provided by the hometown paper) – but you really dont have any “facts” of note regarding this Vick story do you? I mean FACTS, not what you link to from another blog, or information not corroborated by the actual VA police – FACTS…you do know what a fact is right? Its diffferent from an opinion and its not what no-named witnesses said…but what the police right down that becomes public record.

What I don’t get, is how all of the Vick supporters talk about what he did for the Falcons and what he did for Atlanta. HE DID NOTHING!, He didnt take us to a superbowl, but Chris Chandler did, he never had back to back winning seasons, but Ryan has. His QB rating is not even the highest of all Falcon qb’s, again that goes to Chris Chandler.

What transpired in the parking lot & no the guy did not get shot after ” allegedly hitting Vick’s girlfriend hand “, he got shot at-2:10 am. Wake up, have a cup of coffee, or whatever. If the guy got shot 3 minutes after committing that act it would have had to happen in the club !!! Use better sources ESPN The Herd must be pure ” GARBAGE “.

Lets be clear here. BEN WAS NOT PROVEN INNOCENT. For reasons I still don’t understand he was just not brought up on charges. The fact that ALL the cops that came into contact with him that night are now unemployed might tell a few things about what happened. READ THE REPORT.
As for Vick. The man had all the talent in the world. Blank messed that up after the first year. Notice how his numbers went DOWN after he didn’t have a good coach on his butt constantly? He made a mistake and paid for it. Yea, the humane society and everyone got after him harsher than others but then again, how many 100million dollar people fight dogs??
Keep the receivers intact for now. Go after AJ Green next year. Use Jenkins to get the first pick. It’s the defense we need to worry about more than the offense. Benching Jenkins after one bad game might be a nice wake up call at some point.

Edward, the reason Ben was not charged is because the victim said she would not testify. It is impossible to get a rape conviction without testimony from a victim. I am sure Ben paid her a nice sum of money, but that is America, ask Kobe how that works.

As for Kearney, why is this even an issue? Harry Douglas had the exact same thing happen, as woman was raped in his home too, and he was not punished.

This Vick episode would not have any legs either, except for the minor issue of him being on Parole.

To the Vick apologists–The issue now is not dog fighting.
It is not about the “haters”.
The issue is whether Vick has violated the terms of his parole.
Is he squandering his “second chance”?
Has he learned anything from his experience?

Roddy–tell the truth and stay away from Vick socially.

Vick is a tragic figure.
He needs to lay low.
I think he needs serious therapy.
He is eat up with the fame game.
He needs to lay low and humble himself.
Stay away from parties.
Let football be his life and his recreation.
I’m beginning to think football is just the tool that feeds his fame addiction.

Hey D-What is your opinion of Vick. I ask you because you are a black man and I really would like to know your opinion. Unfortunately everything in Atlanta goes into this black/white thing. It was like this when I grew up there back in the 80’s. Everything seems to go into the black/white divide. I am latino so i see it from a totally different spectrum.

@J- How is asking D-Led a question about his opinion of Vick a bad thing? I think D-Led is intelligent enough to render an opinion that would not get him in any deep trouble. So Child please yourself. Anyone and I mean absolutely anyone that reads these blogs, especially thos blogs revolving around Vick, would make the observation that opinions fall along racial lines.

I’d be willing to bet the cops are scouring businesses for cameras in the area Phillips was shot to see if there is any footage of the shooter or vehicle. God help MV (and Roddy) if they are in the footage. Roddy…say it ain’t so and get away from Vick as fast as you can.

Former Buccaneers and Colts coach Tony Dungy, who had an active role in Mike Vick’s return to the NFL last year, has chimed in on the latest controversy involving Vick.

“The only thing he is guilty of is using bad judgment and attending and publicizing parties open to the public and utilizing his name to get people there,” Dungy told the Associated Press, via USA Today. “Hopefully he learns from this.”

Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Michael Vick says he was not involved with a shooting following his birthday celebration in Virginia Beach last week.

“I want to assure everyone that I had nothing to do with that incident,” he said in the statement provided to The Associated Press by his representatives Thursday night. “I left the restaurant prior to it occurring and did not witness what happened.”

Vick said he reported the incident to the Eagles and “to representatives of Commissioner Roger Goodell.”

The former Atlanta Falcons star also said he has been “completely truthful and fully cooperative” with law enforcement and the NFL, and will continue to cooperate as the investigation continues.

I love the Vickster but at some point it is not called “hating”. If you went out and made STUPID decision after STUPID decision that constantly kept you on the wrong radar what do you expect the result to be? After a while being a DUMMY and hanging with more DUMMIES has to get old too. He has not quite learned that lesson 100% which means in some form or fashion he is doomed to repeat himself.
