Roddy White may have to discuss Vick’s timeline with NFL
Roddy White is probably wishing he didn't decide to attend Michael Vick's "all-white" linen birthday bash.
BIRDLAND – Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White may have some explaining to do to NFL authorities.
Reports have surfaced that Michael Vick did not leave the party as early as his lawyer previous stated. White, the Falcons two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, also stated that they’d left the party long before the shooting occurred.
Video has surfaced showing that Vick left three minutes before the shooting occurred, which is in direct contradiction of the statements of Vick’s attorney Lawrence Woodward and White.
The NFL has already said that it wanted to investigate the facts of the case and it’s likely that White will have to meet with NFL security to go over his version of the story. (Just a bit of advice for No. 84, tell the truth!)
He’s probably not in any trouble under the personal conduct policy, but maybe he just should have sent Vick a birthday card instead of going to work the youth football camp and attending the birthday bash.
Also, since we are talking about wide receivers this morning, what about the news that San Diego’s Vincent Jackson is on the trading blocks.

Over the last two seasons, the Falcons have signed their starting receivers to long-term contracts.
Last season, White was signed to a six-year, $50 million deal.
During the 2008 season, Michael Jenkins was signed to a four-year, $20 million extension.
So with Jackson on the market according to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Falcons
probably can’t afford to get in the mix and add another high-priced receiver.
What do you all think, should Roddy shoot NFL security straight? Should the Falcons get creative and figure out a way to go after Jackson? It looks like Seattle and Washington are the early favorites for the Pro Bowler’s services.

On the history of slavery nonsens…
Remeber the Romans were not racist at all. They made pretty much every ‘country’ they conquered into slaves. In particular the conquest of Carthage, MAcedonia, Greece, Gaul made it soo afforadble that it is esteimated that 25% of Romans were actually slaves. So we have all pretty much been slaves at some point, some of us more recently than others. Where is all the Hate for Italy?

Not going to grt into the Vick conversation,and Paddy O i went to Atlanta Public School and I have a Great Education and Career so enough with the prejudice shots! anyway V.Jackson would be a nice pick up for this team i havent heard anything about him being a bad teammate, and its an upgrade over jenkins I could see him fitting in nice.

This Philips guy is, was, & always will be a trouble maker- he violated his probation when he knowingly decided to go anyplace where Vick was attending, even a public function. Vick can’t be reponsible for who show’s up at his party thats security’s job.There have been too many incidents involving football players & gunfire to list here now ( Darrent Williams ended in death).

Agree Vick can not be responsible for who shows up at HIS party. Oh wait, actually he can. He can throw a private party where the public is not allowed to attend. He can invite good friends and family and tell the security to stay home. If somebody shows up uninvited, you ask them to leave. If they don’t, you call the cops. Michael Vick will be selling programs outside the stadium in a few years after he blows whatever money he has left on his stupid friends and incompetent handlers. He’s a thug that can run fast and that is about it………….all it ever was. He was never a leader and never going to be one in the sport or in life. Leaders of character don’t associate with a-hole urban thugs and wanna be’s……….they just don’t and never have. He’s a self destructive punk that had a chance that faded way back he quarterbacked his first win as a Falcon. Bottomline is Roddy should just tell NFL security what he remembers about that night, then move on & get ready to play football next season. The reason some of these posts seems so racist is the fact that the way this world is today any of us can this very minute walk out the front door of your job, home, or public place & become a victim of violence. i.e. Vernon Forrest (RIP) was pumping air in his tire. I dare anyone slander this man’s character. Thats why I have no problem with these guys going out, they work hard like any other american, so enjoy life while you have it.

I would like to think Roddy is good people. Though, I don’t know him well enough. Of course I said “Good Friends” which has little to nothing to do with weither a person is good or bad in the moral sense. I consider my ‘good’ friends to be folks whom I know well and have my best interest at heart. When you charge $50 to anyone who wants to attend your party chances are that some of them well not only not be good friends also not good people. And that is the crux of the problem. Vick should be extra careful whom he d He needs deals with and especially whom he hangs out with. He needs to dissasociate himself from supposedly good friends whom to not have his best interest in their minds but only their own. I would have hoped Vick would have learned this lesson by now but it appears he has not.

I think Mr. Blank and Coach Smith need to have a talk with Roddy White and advise him to avoid Vick. Vick is, and has always been, a thug. It’s apparent he will never learn and if Mr. White continues to hang, then Mr. White will be watching from the sideline too. Go Birds.

@ Mike Jay Agreed. But check out the original news story the night of the shooting @WAVY.com the club owner clearly states there were no problems at the party & that Vick exited the building at 1:45 am, the police say the shooting took place at 2:10. The real story is what happened outside.

Good point. I wonder if the security tapes they turned in cover the parking lot? The whole “Shots came from the direction Vick’s vehicles left” doesn’t paint a pretty picture either. This whole story is like an onion. The tapes will be the only truth in this whole mess I would imagine. I’m not saying Vick did the shooting or told anybody to do it. However, it’s not that far of a stretch to think that somebody in his crew was packing heat and may have taken things into their own hands in some twitsted logic of gaining favor with MV. I really wish Vick could just cut his ties from these folk and turn his life around. It would be a much beeter story imo.

Does any true Falcon fan believe that after partying with Vick for a couple of hours Roddys is gonna hang around a parking lot to touch him or get his autograph !!!!!!!

Don’t get it twisted Falcon fans I love Vick for everything he did for them while here,but he’s got to save his own hide. Right now my only concern is Roddy, I think the media is throwing him into the fire when he probably couldn’t give them anymore info on what happened after the party than we can. We need our best receiver in uniform opening game.
