Roddy White attended Michael Vick's football camp, but had left the party before an early a.m. shooting occurred.
The National Football League and the Philadelphia Eagles are gathering information on the shooting that occurred after Michael Vick’s birthday party last Thursday outside of Virginia Beach.
The league is checking to see if the player conduct policy was violated or if Vick violated his federal probation order. He’s under probation for three years as part of his federal dogfighting conviction.
Vick’s attorney stated that he was not involved in the shooting.
Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, who went to help at Vick’s youth football game and was at the party, said they both had left long before the shooting occurred.
“We have been looking into it to determine the facts,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in an e-mail Sunday sent to USA Today.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell addressed Vick’s plight at the rookie symposium to reporters last night.
“Obviously, we’ve got to look and see whether there was any violation of policy,” Goodell said.
Vick could be facing another suspension from the league.
Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White was at Michael Vick’s 30th birthday party, but left before the shooting of one of Vick’s co-defendants in the federal dog fighting case occurred.
“We were already gone by the time that stuff started happening, so I don’t know what’s going to go on with that or whatever, but we didn’t have anything to do with it,” White told the Newport News Daily Press during a break in the youth football camp.
Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White attended Michael Vick’s football camp at Hampton University on Thursday but was not at a party later that night when a shooting took place.
“Just got off the plane. Goin(g) to Mike Vick’s football camp in VA. Should be good,” White tweeted at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday off his Twitter.com account.
Later, at 11: 05 he tweeted, “Camp was nice. It was hot, but fun.”
Jonathan Feinsod spoke to White’s mother and she said Roddy was fine. He wasn’t sure if White was in Virginia or back in Atlanta, but he was not present at the time of the shooting.
“Roddy is pretty loyal to his friends,” Feinsod said on Friday. “I’m sure he wasn’t involved in anything.”
Several Virginia media outlets have reported that Quanis Phillips, one of Vick’s co-defendants in the federal dogfighting trial, was shot after a birthday party for Vick after 2 a.m. Friday morning.
Lawrence Woodward, Vick’s attorney, said his client was not involved or present during the shooting.
Former Falcon DeAngelo Hall, who currently plays for the Washington Redskins, was listed as one o f the “invited” guests on the flyer for the party. But Friday evening he tweeted that he wasn’t there.
“I understand I was mentioned as a special ‘invited’ guest to attend, but as most of you know I’ve been on vacation with my family,” Hall sent in a tweet at 3:49 on Friday.

Matt..they may already post a page of America’s most wanted. I guess if they include Vick it’s okay. You know Matt, it’s sad that most papers only post about the thugs of society and what they are doing instead of reporting how you are spending time learning the game to becaome a better player. LOL…that’s a far cry from Vick isn’t it. Come on you can admit it lol…okay I understand why you wouldn’t, being a true man with character. Vick could learn alot from you, not only how to be a QB but how to be a better man.

They are discussing NFL and federal parole issues on a number of facebook pages and blogs all around the net, why The Bleacher Report? Because the author is a respected scholar on sports law? Because the author is a former federal prosecutor turned agent? Because the person is a former front office employee for some team, or a former NFLPA exec? Oh wait…the blog you linked to is authored by….ROFLMAO!!!!!

Matt again you are correct, I wish more people would do that. I guess it depends on the person and their economic situation. That reminds me of people who can afford to pay rent but can wait in line to buy $200.00 sneakers, I-phones or even football tickets. I just don’t get it, then stick their hand out to the goverment for some cheese. The bible says a man that don’t work don’t eat.

Vick will not change because he doesn’t want to leave the Ghetto People that Love him. It is not all Vick’s fault. He knows what he knows and he feel comfortable around a LOW class of people who think they need a gun at a Birthday Party. Drinking, Bimbos, Guns, and NWAs just add up to trouble. When we were young my friends and I would get drunk and high too. Just because we all had guns or were at the Hunting Camp, I don’t know a single person that was shot. A Pit, a Gun, and Blackmen, why are y’all so scared of each other that all of you have to act like the BNIC? You feel the need to Roll like a PIMP, Act like a THUG, and what is that really getting you?

This really isn’t that hard to figure out. Vick had a Bday party at a restaurant, His Co-Defendant/Snitch showed up. Vick and other people asked him to Leave. He caused a scene and after he was finally leaving the premises someone put a “hot one” in his leg. Now for anyone who is familiar with “Hood rules” you understand what happened without any complications. The worst thing to be labeled in “Urban culture” is a “snitch”. It’s Hood Leprosy and you are a Pariah for your remaining days on earth. The Co-Defendant knows this and my guess for him having the audacity to show up at Vick’s party is because he’s hurting for money and there are no Jobs available because of his Felony record, no more leeching off of Vick and his money and finally because of his Snitching label, nowhere else to turn. His showing up at Vick’s Bday was an act of desperation and basically a Death wish. No way was it Vick behind it because he is on his last chance and has too much to lose. There were alot of people who Love and cherish Vick at that party and it’s real simple to guess that one of them took it upon them selves to rid Vick of this troublesome person. Dude is lucky to be alive….
By the way…. the Word “Posse” stopped being used to describe a Black man’s group of Friends sometime in the summer of 1994…..

WHY DID PEOPLE have GUNS at a Birthday Party at a Resturant? WHY? WHY? Blacks are scared of other Blacks more than they fear the Whiteman. IF the Black culture doesn’t understand the value of the TRUTH (being a Snitch) then To 7734 to the grandmom that raised you.

All of the professional sports are full of people who feel entitled to do anything they want. They are entitled! They kill dogs, they rape, they shoot people, they drive drunk and kill people and they do not do the time that the average person would do or no charges are ever filed. The bad part is that these thugs (that’s what they are) are supported with adoration by those average people. Wake up people! These rich, spoiled thugs need to be scorned. I will not support them and I certainly won’t send my children to a camp. It doesn’t matter what race, how big a star or how much money they make…stop supporting their behavior.

You can blame it on hood rules, race, The Man, or whatever you want, but it still doesn’t change the fact that Vick brought nothing but shame and despair to this city and he is nothing but absolute trash.

This is really sad that everyone keeps perpetuating this kind of argument. It is wrong that media keeps sensationalizing it also. No disrespect D.O.L., I know you have to feed the family so you push the buttons “the man” says push. This isn’t a racial argument to me because Big Ben and Matt Jones are idiots also and are no better on the maturity and decision making level than Mike Vick. Meanwhile black athletes like Warrick Dunn are better than the best of men and his life has been alot more difficult than Mike Vick’s. We keep writing about these people everyday though. Once every 3 years we get a brief summary of Warrick Dunn or Kurt Warner and how these real life role models for our children overcame life’s obstacles and are giving back through the goodness of their heart, not by court order. Of course they have to be in the SuperBowl for that positive report to even happen. No blogs, no public kudos, just a time to go to the restroom before the game. In the paper, no one would read it. It is really sad to witness what is happening on TV and Print. What kind of stories and shows are important to us. OK people sorry for the brief interruption get back to your ignorance…. Were you there or something??? How do you know who was at the party? Oh wow it must be the mob mentality your family taught you to “Piss on a dog” first and ask questions later. I bet that’s how your ancestors helped to end the lives of the “savages” that lived in North America!

Mike Vick should be inducted into the “HOOD RATS HALL OF FAME”. Vick is probably the dumbest individual whose ever lived on the planet. Vick couldnt wait to get to Levenworth Prison so that he could get “THREE FREE SQUARE MEALS A DAY”. Vick comes out of prison, gets a second chance by Roger Goddell and the NFL and Vick promptly blows it by messing up again, allowing a shooting to take place at his party. This time, the NFL should give Vick a lifetime suspension with no chance to ever return again.

No knock on Vick’s personal life, but my advice to RODDY WHITE is don’t hang out with Michael Vick at parties or clubs or any other place serving alcoholic beverages.
After all the turmoil Vick been through and considering he’s trying to make a come-back in the NFL, he should have chosen a better path in life than THE NIGHT LIFE!!!
It’s admirable for professional atheletes to give YOUTH’S CAMP to teach young boys and girls how to train for sports. But it’s even more important for these same professional atheletes to demonstrate self-discipline in everyday life choices..
I pray that Michael Vick and other atheletes will find better things to do with their life outside the game of sports.

Security maybe had guns, but the SNITCH was not shot by Legal type of Security. I bet Mr. Blank and the owner of the Eagles, The Mayor of Philly, The head of the Children’s Wish Foundation, The President of Hampton University, Coach Beamer & Wife were all on the Guest List to Vick’s Birthday Party.
