The National Football League and the Philadelphia Eagles are gathering information on the shooting that occurred after Michael Vick’s birthday party last Thursday outside of Virginia Beach.
The league is checking to see if the player conduct policy was violated or if Vick violated his federal probation order. He’s under probation for three years as part of his federal dogfighting conviction.
Vick’s attorney stated that he was not involved in the shooting.
Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, who went to help at Vick’s youth football game and was at the party, said they both had left long before the shooting occurred.
“We have been looking into it to determine the facts,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in an e-mail Sunday sent to USA Today.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell addressed Vick’s plight at the rookie symposium to reporters last night.
“Obviously, we’ve got to look and see whether there was any violation of policy,” Goodell said.
Vick could be facing another suspension from the league.

“We were already gone by the time that stuff started happening, so I don’t know what’s going to go on with that or whatever, but we didn’t have anything to do with it,” White told the Newport News Daily Press during a break in the youth football camp.

“Just got off the plane. Goin(g) to Mike Vick’s football camp in VA. Should be good,” White tweeted at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday off his Twitter.com account.
Later, at 11: 05 he tweeted, “Camp was nice. It was hot, but fun.”
Jonathan Feinsod spoke to White’s mother and she said Roddy was fine. He wasn’t sure if White was in Virginia or back in Atlanta, but he was not present at the time of the shooting.
“Roddy is pretty loyal to his friends,” Feinsod said on Friday. “I’m sure he wasn’t involved in anything.”
Several Virginia media outlets have reported that Quanis Phillips, one of Vick’s co-defendants in the federal dogfighting trial, was shot after a birthday party for Vick after 2 a.m. Friday morning.
Lawrence Woodward, Vick’s attorney, said his client was not involved or present during the shooting.
Former Falcon DeAngelo Hall, who currently plays for the Washington Redskins, was listed as one o f the “invited” guests on the flyer for the party. But Friday evening he tweeted that he wasn’t there.
“I understand I was mentioned as a special ‘invited’ guest to attend, but as most of you know I’ve been on vacation with my family,” Hall sent in a tweet at 3:49 on Friday.

wow look at all the judges on this page. i am glad that you all are NOT God for we all will be in trouble. For you all to say he is not trying to improve his way of life or to say he is still trouble allows me to say you all don’t know the true meaning of God’s forgiveness! his past is his past period! Just because there was a shooting at a location where he was doesn’t mean he hasn’t changed his life ppl! Parties are public anybody can come if they are willing to pay the admission fee! Remember this…. the same manner you all are juding him is the same matter God will judge you! Leave the man alone!

Lets make sure we have the facts. Vick was in a speakeasy run by the Gambino family. He was wielding a AK-47 in his left hand, a glock in his right. Over a craps game, he got into a brawl with not one, but ALL of the co-defendants from his previous case. After shooting up the place…he got in the getaway car with Roddy White, aka Bugsy, and fled the scene.
Is that about right?

mdawg…that is completely false. Vick cannot own a firearm or possess one in his home. However, he can most certainly be in an establishment where OTHERS can legally have a firearm…or are you saying he can’t go to Texas anymore? You know that if its legal to have your firearm in a restaurant or the airport that this doesn’t bar Vick from going into those places right? Geez….just apply a LITTLE bit of common sense.

I don’t care about the Vick stuff, party, or any of that stuff. I have a feeling Roger Goodell will pick on what I did, the man shot and invited to the party was one of Vick’s dog fighting partners, and that is a big no no. Goodell said publicly that Vick had to show that he had left that part of his life behind, but here he has the same element around him. I think the court is also going to hone in on the same fact, that he is with a convicted felon again (invitee to the party). I said at the beginning of the process, that a new incident would arise, that what we saw was a facade. For Vick’s sake and his family, he needs help to overcome his environment and the bad elements in his life. This proves that he still has that problem.

Navigator…how is it Vick’s problem? He can’t control where the co-defendant’s GO. He can’t WILL himself to never be where they are because he has no control to even KNOW where they are. That’s just senseless. Roger Goodell is not even bothering with this, neither are the Eagles…they put out those same PR statements they do for every DUI or expired tag stop. Notice how not one article on this cites one quote from a federal probation officer, an attorney, not a parole officer. Wonder why? Because they know there is no THERE, THERE.
