The National Football League and the Philadelphia Eagles are gathering information on the shooting that occurred after Michael Vick’s birthday party last Thursday outside of Virginia Beach.
The league is checking to see if the player conduct policy was violated or if Vick violated his federal probation order. He’s under probation for three years as part of his federal dogfighting conviction.
Vick’s attorney stated that he was not involved in the shooting.
Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, who went to help at Vick’s youth football game and was at the party, said they both had left long before the shooting occurred.
“We have been looking into it to determine the facts,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in an e-mail Sunday sent to USA Today.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell addressed Vick’s plight at the rookie symposium to reporters last night.
“Obviously, we’ve got to look and see whether there was any violation of policy,” Goodell said.
Vick could be facing another suspension from the league.

“We were already gone by the time that stuff started happening, so I don’t know what’s going to go on with that or whatever, but we didn’t have anything to do with it,” White told the Newport News Daily Press during a break in the youth football camp.

“Just got off the plane. Goin(g) to Mike Vick’s football camp in VA. Should be good,” White tweeted at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday off his Twitter.com account.
Later, at 11: 05 he tweeted, “Camp was nice. It was hot, but fun.”
Jonathan Feinsod spoke to White’s mother and she said Roddy was fine. He wasn’t sure if White was in Virginia or back in Atlanta, but he was not present at the time of the shooting.
“Roddy is pretty loyal to his friends,” Feinsod said on Friday. “I’m sure he wasn’t involved in anything.”
Several Virginia media outlets have reported that Quanis Phillips, one of Vick’s co-defendants in the federal dogfighting trial, was shot after a birthday party for Vick after 2 a.m. Friday morning.
Lawrence Woodward, Vick’s attorney, said his client was not involved or present during the shooting.
Former Falcon DeAngelo Hall, who currently plays for the Washington Redskins, was listed as one o f the “invited” guests on the flyer for the party. But Friday evening he tweeted that he wasn’t there.
“I understand I was mentioned as a special ‘invited’ guest to attend, but as most of you know I’ve been on vacation with my family,” Hall sent in a tweet at 3:49 on Friday.

Yes, I do know his overall record. Its seems you only know the negative about Vick, which isn’t a surprise. The main reason that I hate the falcons is because people like you placed 100% of the blame on Vick for those last 2 years when its a team game. That is totally unfair, and don’t come with the “he’s making all the money” crap. Its funny….when the Falcons fail now with Ryan as as the QB, they fail as a team. I find that so damn comical.

Yeah….because if Vick is waking in the mall and one of the co-defendants comes into the mall, its Vick’s fault that he put himself into the circumstance of being in the mall.
Vick doesnt have to avoid being in a public venue for a legitimate purpose, and if the AJC had bothered to ask a federal probation officer, a criminal defense attorney or even a freaking paralegal, just maybe Ledbetter could have added that little bit of FACT..but the purpose of this blog is not to inform, but to inflame with inaccurate information and innuendo.

Mr. Charlie: I think you are wrong when you say Bens and Kobes situation are similar. They’re not! Kobe didnt rape anyone because the sex was consensual. Ben raped all of his victims. Yes I do know it…….and still not impressed by it. I would loved to have seen how Vick would turned out if he had been coached by Dan Reeves for more than a couple years. Dan was really helping Vick become an elite NFL qb, Vick just didn’t like to be told what he needed to do to be an elite NFL qb.

Jay, reading comprehension is not exactly done on these blogs. In some of the comments, people have claimed Vick had a gun, he was the shooter, he picked up Phillips, they were hanging out, everybody in the place had a gun, marcus was the shooter, etc.
guess what facts they actually know but are too stupid to realize:
Vick was at a party in his honor
Vick left with Roddy White
Quanis Phillips was shot outside of the building
The end….those are all the actual facts that have been ascertained and disseminated to the public about the events of that night. Everything else is conjecture, and heresay from unidentified witnesses or in some cases, just made up by the person writing.

However, any person with a clue knows he is leading this team in the right direction. I mean after all he is the only QB in Falcon history to lead them to back to back winning seasons. Still with that, not impressed, but I like the direction the team is heading.
