FLOWERY BRANCH – Wide receiver Roddy White put on his NBA analyst hat after the team’s organized team activities session on Thursday.
He concluded from a quick survey of the locker room that the Falcons were overwhelmingly in favor of the Boston Celtics. Game 1 is set for 9 p.m. tonight in Los Angeles.
“We are going with the Celtics,” White said.
Running back Jason Snelling backed him up.
“Boston, because I don’t like the Lakers,” he said.
Cornerbacks Brian Williams and Christopher Owens are Laker backers.
But they are clearly in the minority, along with running back Michael Turner.
“Lakers, they are just hoping that Kobe (Bryant) doesn’t win,” Turner said.

…and let’s hope that the Lakers and the Celtics are discussing if they will be picking the Falcons or the AFC representative i that little football game scheduled for Feb. 2011.

It’s clear from his Twitter feed that Roddy White is a huge Celtics fan. No offense to White, but I’m not sure how “objective” his “quick survey” may have been.

Is Bird or Magic playing? What about Jordan… no? The NBA has been relevant to many since the late 1990’s.

FalconsFan, I think you meant irrelevant…And no it hasn’t been. If you would open your eyes the NBA is in a golden age with profits on the rise as Mr. Stern smiles from his lavish penthouse in NYC…

Actually Chemcat, thugball was played in the late 80’s and early 90’s by Detriot, New York and Boston. Those were the days when you could beat a man up on the court and not have any reprecussions. Now are you trying to use code words to say something else? If so just say it and don’t hide your true feelings because I haven’t seen a thug or gang member on the court since McHale retired.

LOL at Chemcat. I fail to see how football(college or NFL) is any less “thuggish” than NBA basketball, whatever that means.

No Bird or Magic tonight. This is a tough one if you don’t like Kobe and have always hated the Celtics and Cigar smoking Red! But I’ll be watching with friends.

Where is LeBron? How can they have the best regular season average twice to so totally fall apart? Guessing the coaches/Ferry have not forced/taught the other players to play up to their capacity.
This is a good mantra for BVG and MM. “What did my failure to coach or my game plan lack in 2009 that it didn’t in 2008?” (I acknowledge the difference between the NFC East vs. all the teams in the West.)
