I thought we’d share the results of our recent poll question: Should the Falcons sign Big John Henderson?

General manager Thomas Dimitroff has said the team will not pursue the defensive tackle, but the fans seem to want him. Some what him, but at the right cost.

Here are the results.

Should the Falcons sign Big John Henderson?

• Yes, the D-Line needs help. (58%, 1,188 Votes)

• Yes, but only for the veteran minimum. (28%, 580 Votes)

• No, the D-Line is set. (14%, 283 Votes)

Total Voters: 2,051

Henderson is still out there.

Should Dimitroff reconsider?

Merriman hasnt been good since he stopped using steroids. How’d he go from 13 sacks one year to 3 the next year? hmmmm I wonder why??? What if we used Jamal Anderson as a TE in some formations.

We don’t have much experience past Babineaux, as Jerry is basically still a rookie, but at the same time we don’t want to crowd out his and Peters’ reps. If we could get Henderson at the minimum as a rotation guy, I suppose I wouldn’t be against it.

I don’t care what anyone on here says, let sept 12th or whenever opening day rolls around and we don’t have a pass rush somebody has got to go. Personally I don’t think its the d-ends. We don’t have enough push up the middle. I don’t understand why we keep drafting guys in the same mold. Babineaux, Jerry and Peters are the same type of tackle. Sooner or later you’re going need that huge dt that takes up space and pushes the pocket. If they can get some more miles out of Henderson for the right price I’m all for it. I wish they could get Haynesworth. I don’t care how many faces he’s stepped on and how many plays they say he takes off. In 08, his last year in Tennessee, they were ranked 7th in total defense. Last year 09, with the same team, 26th. So he was doing something right.

WE NEED JOHN HENDERSON. Jamal Anderson is the biggest bust since Aundre Bruce. Henderson can at the least get 6 sacks a season and not like Anderson who has 4 sacks… if that in 3 seasons with the Falcons. Anderson never gets his hands up when passes are thrown his way. Bottom line, anderson has a low football I.Q. The Falcons need Henderson.

JAMAL ANDERSON IS A LOSER! HE IS THE BIGGEST BUST SINCE AUNDRE BRUCE. HE OBVIOUSLY HAS A LOW FOOTBALL IQ BECAUSE HE NEVER GETS HIS HANDS UP WHEN PASSES ARE THROWN HIS WAY. ANDERSON ONLY HAS 4 SACKS, IF THAT IN 3 SEASONS WITH THE FALCONS. WE NEED JOHN HENDERSON,

THE FALCONS WOULD BE CRAZY NOT TO CONSIDER HENDERSON BESIDES HE IS ONE OF COACH SMITH’S GUYS FROM THE JAGS HASN’T PETERSON WORKED OUT. THE FALCONS ARE WEAK UP THE MIDDLE A HE WOULD INSTANTLY CHANGE THAT. IF THEY DON’T THEY WILL LOOK BACK ON THIS AS A MISSED OPPORTUNITY.
