The Falcons 2010 cheer squad. (D. Orlando Ledbetter/AJC)
Congratulations to the 40 young ladies who made the 2010 Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders Thursday night.
There were a lot of very talented and athletic dancers, who were on point during their routines. At the end, the entire group of 72 were brought down to main ballroom.
The team was announced and the ladies who didn’t make the team were thanked and told not to give up by Chato Waters, the Falcons cheer coordinator. They were invited back to tryout again next season.
It was an honor and a pleasure to serve as a judge. Also, the lovely Mrs. Stephanie Blank joined the panel and was so kind.
We had to judge them on physical fitness and appearance, dance/cheer ability and showmanship on a scale of 1 to 5. Let’s just say there weren’t many 3s in the group of 72 on fitness and appearance.
Some struggled with the dance routine, but if they messed up, regrouped and got back on track I didn’t hold it against them.
Some of the young ladies just flat out nailed the routine. Felt like I was on the set of “Fame.”
As for showmanship, they had to look comfortable throughout, make contact and strike a pose at the end.
Now Ms. Waters and her staff is charged with molding theme into unit and let’s just stay that she has some serious talent to work with.

Give the Falcons credit they do an outstanding job picking cheerleaders. Let’s hope we give them something to cheer about. Orlando my man, the chiefs are trying to turn Glen Dorsey into a three four end. he got a whole sack last year. The Falcons are trying to turn Jamaal into a tackle. Why not trade the two guy’s straight up. the change would most likely work to the benefit of all. Just a thought.

Yeah, another new crop o’ dizzy bimbos whose job it is to get out there on Sunday afternoons and wiggle and shimmy and flop their hooters around. And then on Monday they’ll go back to their real jobs and wonder why none of the men (or women either, for that matter) has any respect for them.

Jamal Anderson is a better football player than Glenn Dorsey. Dorsey can’t rush the passer, and he is horrible against the run. Jamal Anderson is poor at pass rushing from DE position, but he does better than Dorsey rushing from the DT spots. Also, JA98 is a monster against the run. Ask other coaches in the NFC South they will tell you he is perhaps the best run stuffing DE in the division.

Here is an important question. Will you go to Heaven or Hell when you die? Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Here is a quick test to see if you truly are a good person:
How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever stolen anything? (The value of the item is irrelevant). Have you ever used God’s Name in vain? (The same God whose heaven you expect to go to when you die). Jesus said, “Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Have you ever looked with lust? Will you be guilty or innocent on the Day of Judgment? Will you to go Heaven or Hell?
If you have done those things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. That means you’ll be found guilty. The Bible warns that if you are guilty you will end up in Hell. God, who the Bible says is “rich in mercy” sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for us guilty sinners. We broke God’s Law, but Jesus paid our fine (what we owed for breaking His Law). That means that God can legally dismiss our case. He can commute our death sentence.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Then He rose from the dead and defeated death.
God doesn’t want you to go to Hell. He can forgive you. Please, repent (turn from sin) today and God will grant everlasting life to all who trust in Jesus. Then read your Bible daily and obey it. We will all die in time. When will your turn come? Please don’t put off your eternal salvation. Get right with God today. http://www.livingwaters.com
