Birdland – The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are on notice.
The Los Angeles Laker Girls need to worry about their status, too.
The new 2010 Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders will be selected on Thursday at The View at King Plow and the goal is to put together the best professional cheer squad ever assembled.
The Falcons spared no expenses and brought in some heavy-hitters to help them pull this off.
Yours truly will serve as a judge and I’ll most definitely sport one of my bow ties and look very judge-like for the finalists. Also serving on the distinguished panel of judges will be Mr. Ryan Cameron (WVEE radio station V103), Mr. Sam Crenshaw (WXIA-TV Channel 11), Mr. Anthony Amey (WSB-TV Channel 2) and Mr. Matt Chernoff (WCNN radio station 680 The Fan).
A total of 286 contestants performed at the Georgia World Congress Center on Sunday. Those fortunate enough to make the cut were invited to the finals.
The 2010 squad is “taking it to a whole new level with a new look, new uniforms, new logo and a brand new approach. The new look consists of searching for ladies who epitomize the New South – young, hip, glamorous, attractive and intelligent,” according to the team.
Those fortunate enough to make the squad will play a bigger role at the Georgia Dome this season. They will greet fans at gates as they enter the Dome, visit fans in the stands and suites and other activities as well.
While the final cheerleader auditions will not be open to the public, they will be covered live on atlantafalcons.com/live.
(Now the last time I blogged about the cheerleaders, you all lost your collective minds and we had to shut down the comment section. Let’s be on our best behavior today. I’ll be here to delete/babysit you all. Keep it clean. –dol)
