The Atlanta Falcons released their 2010 exhibition season schedule on Wednesday.
The schedule, which includes one nationally televised game, is not finalized. They have the teams, but not all of the dates and times for the games.
The Falcons will open the exhibition season at home against Kansas City. The date has not been set.
The second game is against New England on Aug. 19 at the Georgia Dome and will be televised nationally by Fox.
The third game will be at Miami with the date and time to be determined.
The Falcons will play at Jacksonville on Thursday, Sept. 2 in the exhibition season finale. It will be the their second visit to Jacksonville over the last three seasons. The two teams have met six times overall in the exhibition season with the Falcons posting a 3-3 record.
Under head coach Mike Smith, the Falcons have posted 2-2 marks during the exhibition seasons in 2008 and 2009. The Falcons have not suffered a losing exhibition season record since the 2004 season.

It’s good to get Falcons news, and it’s nice to see who we will face in pre-season. It’ll be a nice test of what we have on the roster. I’m itching for OTAs at the Branch.

Preseason is just a good evaluation of our draft picks and back ups. Its just good to get back started, still several months away but its getting closer. Why do non falcon fans come to our blogs and let crap come out of their mouths. If u dont like ATL go post on the KC gazette or something. TG is scoring TD’s for us now, dont blame us blame your GM.

Boo Hiss…..a THURSDAY NIGHT pre-season game against New England in August. Hopefully the first game will be on a weekend night since the Jacksonville game is also on a Thursday.
GO FALCONS!!!!! Can we just please skip right over the baseball season and get right to the college and NFL games????
Hopefully the Hawks can have a good long playoff run this year to help shorten the time before football begins.

Football is the only sport I enjoy and the Falcons are my favorite team. I almost wish that I could hibernate during the off season. Since I can’t, any tidbit of news about the Falcons is welcome and appreciated. Thank God for the NFL Network.
And thank you reporters for keeping those of us who care informed.
GO FALCONS!!!

August 19th — we gotta win it against Parcells. This is PERSONAL for Mr. Blank.
I think the NFL is making a concerted effort to not dump a major division rival on the first day of the regular season, trying to throw in something regional or otherwise interesting because of personnel. NOW, IF THEY COULD DO something about 5 weeks in a row facing teams off the bye???????
Similarly in preseason, Blank vs. Parcells, the Gonzalez Bowl, Piolli vs. Dimitroff, and concluding with the Smitty Bowl in pre-season.

BTW, the last few years, the NFL has released on April 4 or 5, but most press releases say mid-April. Probably if they are scrambling that is a cover date so that the sports writers don’t have to admit they have embargoed material…

Mr. Calvin G. Sims, Sr. may I come hang out at your house/bar and watch your NFL Network when my husband tries to tell me that baseball is a real sport? It is a pastime (as in PASS TIME,) as it doesn’t move fast enough. I find OTAs more exciting, sir.

Guys preseason is just audtions for guys trying to make it. The only one that is somewhat interesting is the 3rd game when the starters usually play a half. Thats about it for me. Its good to talk about something else besides the draft though.

Are We waiting on the Bears to release Alex Brown, so we can bring him in for a look and signing? Is that the reason for all the “hush hush” about his status? I’m sure, at this point, the Bears will take Aundray Bruce in a trade for Brown; but they let the cat-out-the-bag when they announced that they would release him if they found no takers. That gives teams, in need of a defensive end, leverage in signing him without giving anything in return. A veteran defensive end like Brown, will suffice our need on the line and will motivate John Abraham on the other end. We need Brown in Atlanta.

I sincerely hope that this season that the Saints are the team in the division that has to play 4 games with teams coming off their by weeks, it would only be the fair thing to do. Also, I realized why we have to draft Maurkice Pouncey:::because Tampa will have Nmdamakah Suh, we must match him for the next 7 years.
