Curtis Lofton being interviewed by Britton Lynn, a University of Alabama student who's a finalist to become the Falcons Taco Maco Insider. (By D. Orlando Ledbetter/AJC)
Falcons linebacker Curtis Lofton is set to serve as the honorary chair of the Rally Foundation’s Fashion Funds the Cure Atlanta today at Saks Fifth Avenue at Phipps Plaza.
Here are five things you don’t know about Lofton:
1. What’s on his I-Pod: The new Miley Cyrus album. (Don’t laugh. He was serious!)
2. Favorite former Falcons: Jesse Tuggle
3. Favorite restaurant in Atlanta: Dolce Enoteca e Ristorante at Atlanta Station.
4. First sport he played: Basketball. “There aren’t too many 6-0, 245 pound guys in the NBA,” Lofton said.
5. Which player he likes to joke with: Fullback Ovie Mughelli.

Vinny D was amazed no doubt at being first, and I certainly understand. I’ve been there myself, so I can speak from first-hand knowledge of the feeling. But I can’t help but think that he was expressing the same strong emotion also to the scope, depth, and soaring originality of Ledbetter’s all-to-short report. For example, Ledbetter could have elaborated on the times when Lofton and Mughelli get to messing around, funing each other. I bet they have a time. There were just so many more equally interesting, fascinating items he could have included. But, alas!

Well boys and girls I am about to call it a day. It is good weather outside so I think I am going to roll down the windows and boom with the Miley Cyrus.

Delbert, it’s nice to see that someone has good taste in music.
As for Lofton, I wouldn’t mind if he was a Conway Twitty fan as long as he keeps playing like he has his first two years.

[...] AJC: Curtis Lofton answers five questions that have gloriously nothing to do with football. All five are enlightening, but his iPod revelation/all-time favorite Falcon (Hammah Montana) = all you need to know about our middle linebacker. Is it badass that the heart of our defense listens to music you pretend to be embarrassed to have even heard of? I hope the team takes the field to “Party in the USA” next year just to see you squirm. [...]
