Cornerback Dunta Robinson signed a six-year contract with $22.5 million in guarantees with the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday.

Robinson, who was considered the top cornerback available in free agency, formerly played for the Houston Texans.

Robinson, a native of Athens, played in high school at Clarke Central before going on to star at the University of South Carolina.

Also, quarterback Chris Redman’s contract was a two-year deal,  worth $5.6 milion, with $2.5 million of it guaranteed.

Cornerback Brian Williams’ one-year contract is worth $1.6 million with a heavy roster bonus incentive as he’s battling back from knee surgery.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Lions are on the verge of a trade for Falcons CB Chris Houston.

The deal should be finalized on Monday. Atlanta is expected to receive Detroit’s sixth-round pick and switch places with the Lions in round five. Houston, the No. 41 overall selection in 2007, is immensely talented but fell out of favor last season despite starting more games than any Falcons cornerback. He is a press corner, which would fit well in Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham’s man-to-man secondary.

I hope Jason La Canfora is right.

CHUCKTOWN38-I stand by my assessment of you as a racist minded individual, and you went out of your way to prove I was right about you with your last post, which was filled with RACIST stereotyping and assumptions.

And exactly what history are you suggesting I need to read up on? Are you saying I was wrong about Hitler and the holicaust taking place, or are you saying I was wrong about the civil war between the United States of America and the Confederacy taking place? I’ll admit, since graduating from college, I am no longer forced to read from history books written by racist minded individuals like you, that glorify the South’s involvement in the civil war. Therefore, I get a much truer picture of what really happened during that turmoiltous period, and why.

MAN, YOU’RE JUST FILLED WITH STEREOTYPICAL, NARROWMINDED ASSUMPTIONS AREN’T YOU. I GUESS BELITTLING EVERYONE ELSE IS WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER ABOUT WHO AND WHAT YOU SEE IN THE MIRROR.

As much as I like the talent of TO on the field. TD and Mike Smith would never bring in a potential cancer like TO to disrupt the team chemistry they have built in Atlanta. I mean we are talking about a guy that could not get along with Donovan McNabb!!!!

not only did yall get a lock down back, but he’s a hard hitter. I hate that we gave him up, but I dont think management wanted to wait for his game to get back to pre injury level. But overall he’s well worth the money
