HEY 19!: Michigan defensive end Brandon Graham could be available with the 19th pick.
Indianapolis — The Falcons won the coin toss!
The team will select 19 in the 2010 NFL draft.
It wasn’t a heads or tails deal.
It was a coin that had the Falcons logo on one side and the Houston Texans’ logo on the other.
The early a.m.p came up Falcons.
This makes general manager Thomas Dimitroff 2-0 in coin tosses.
He also won the coin toss for the No. 3 — which was used to select Matt Ryan — in 2008 draft.

Do not take Spiller with the first round pick (MB’s article). We need defense plain and simple.

Can’t beat 2-0. Pick this guy that DOL suggests. Stay away from drafting a corner. Remember the formula.

Why did the NFL spend the money on making a special coin for this occasion? Couldn’t that money be given to a local Indy/Houston/Atlanta charity? It’s not like this was a coin flip for 1st pick in the draft.

Coker was booted off the UT squad for dealing drugs. I am pretty sure TD isn’t interested. I forgive the kid and wish him luck, but I can bet that he isn’t on our radar.

Spiller is RB, Douglas is WR. Spiller is a return guy extrodinare and can back up Turner. Norwood is only good for about 4 games a year. With that said, I would trade pick and either trade down or trade to Oakland for Asomugha. Hell trade all the picks to Oakland for Asomugha and Seymore.

Going to do some Robinson background today since y’all keep bringing him up. If he was REALLY nice Texans would have locked him up. But I’m going to talk to the my man John McClain from the Houston Chronicle and decide if we need to a deeper background on him. Also, to tell him that Greg Knapp is a super guy! The Knappster is good people.
Suwaneedawg: You can drop the link of MB’s article on Spiller here. We’d love the info. He should be gone by 19. He was on my connecting flight from Chicago to Indy. Small in real people clothes. Plays BIG. (Falcons are not talking him BTW (is that by the way or between)?

Who flipped the coin? Was it TD? If TD didn’t flip the coin and TD didn’t have to call heads or tails since the coin toss since it had Texans on one side and Falcons on the other, then how did he win the toss? Sounds like Falcons won the toss and TD gets to make the pick….anyway, (clearly I have too much time on my hands) we need to pick a defensive players and ignore the call of CJ. If we want a situational back for the offense, then either a) keep Norwood or b) sign Reggie Bush.
LET’S GO FALCONS!

Earl Thomas is a beast in the defensive backfield. His body size and abilities translate to CB just as well as safety. The guy is a ball hawk with excellent range. Just a redshirt sophmore so young and will only get better; but very good right now.

Rams will select a franchise QB at number one; and considering that no team wants to spend top 5 money on a defensive player, its going to push a top defense-man right into our laps, at 19. Ryan and Sanchez are making teams consider QBs for their first picks. I think 5 QBs will go in the first round. Considering that, we’ll benefit by grabbing a top player on defense.
CJ Spiller is an attractive pick; but Joique Bell and Dexter McCluster are just as good and can be drafted in later rounds.

Spiller! NFL is a 2 back league and we can’t expect Turner to carry that load injury free.
I really hope we don’t go CB here. The bust ratio is too high on CB’s in the 1st.

The Falcons definitely had some discussions about getting Dorsey before last season…he has started very slowly. I would trade the 19 pick in a minute for him although DE is a bigger need than DT. If not, OLB could be the direction they go unless TD loves one of the CBs.

Yea, the Falcons were intetested in Dorsey when they had to choose between him and Ryan.
Seriously though, it sin’t like he’s a free agent and since he isn’t real expensive ($5 million against the cap) – KC would probably want a lot more than we would give (as in they would want the #19 plus a LOT more).

A Michigan DE in the 1st round? That is absurd. Also, pass on Peppers. The guy is a cancer. No go on Cody. The Falcons had a one-play-per-series fat guy in the middle 2 years ago and let him go. If they want a dominating big guy, they should sign Ilgaukas. Or Iguanacus, or however he spells it.

I dont care as long as we dont draft a corner. We have enough of those. We need a pash rush to help them! There will be a LOT of talent this year and all i want is a pick thats not injury prone….(i.e last year’s draft)

Why do some bloggers (JOHNNY TOUCHDOWN) keep asking for players in positions where there isnt a need? You dont think we’re fine at safety? I just dont think Eric Berry wont make a huge difference thats all. We have a pretty good guy in Moore once he hits the field. I’ve learned that this team is so unpredictable that now I just sit back and watch…

Who gives a S–T about the coin. At least the NFL can afford it and gave some “trophy” shop the business to make the freakin coin! I’m sure a few peole got a weeks worth of salary for the coin, as oppose to some damn charity that will put half the money into “operating” expenses!

Met Dunta Robinson and his mother his senior year in high school. He went to Clarke Central in Athens and had a chip on his shoulder (rightly so) because Mark Richt didn’t offer him and he went to SC. As we college football fans often do, I decided that he must not be good enough or we would have offered him, so I wished him luck, just not against UGA. Well, 4 years later (3?did he go early?) I was wrong, we (UGA) just missed on him and he was the 7th overall pick in the draft. Same place Deion Sanders went to Atlanta if I am not mistaken. Not bad for a guy who was passed over by his hometown college that he really wanted an offer from. It would be nice for him to come home to Georgia if it worked out. His mom was buying a vehicle at the time and I was doing to paperwork. Nice family.
