D.O.
Thank for showing the DTLR/Falcons football Camp some love, i would have never heard of it if it wasn't for the support you gave it. My wife and i was impressed with the whole operation and the fact that it was free!!! i was able to take my son and nephew to thier first camp and they had a great time..it will be something they will remember for the rest of there lives. And it gave parents some insight on recriuting issues and student priorities as well as allowing/giving the young athletes a chance to see and perform pro level drills and work with the new training equipment that was on hand. And lastly, it gave them an oppurunity to interact with the pro players that were there in a fun and working environment.

A Great Job All Around!

Unca' Bob, no problem, I probably keep up with Tech more than you do, plus I remember Ken being an All American who played one year too long. Sometimes its sad how things work out for college athletes, we want them to stay especially after a great season. Then their considered first round material but they decide to stay in school, they have a bad season and their fortunes change. One of the all time collaspes is probably James Forrest. He was an All America, all world player for the Yellow Jackets basketball team, he decided to come back for his senior year and went from a potential top five pick to not getting picked at all and never playing in the NBA.

My bad. I broke rule #1. Do your research before posting. I was close, but, alas, no cigar. Thanx for the heads up.

Unca'Bob and Jason, a bit of a correction on Pat Swilling. Pat did go to Tech, but he was not a teammate of KB56, that was Ken Swilling his cousin. Pat was already with the Saints during that time period. Pat was a defensive end at Tech and Ken was a hybrid safety,LB.

Jason, I must agree with you on bringing back the red helmets and red jerseys, those was the days even if the Falcons found a way to kill hope. I think I read somewhere where they are going to have a couple of retro games this year, I'm looking forward to it.

As far as worrying about Norwood getting starter money to become a starter elsewhere I don't see it happening. Nothing against Norwood but he is not built to serve in a starters role, granted Warrick Dunn wasn't either, but Dunn was pretty good running between the tackles and Norwood is lacking in that phrase of his game. I do see him getting a good offer to stay in Atlanta to keep their two headed running monster alive and well for another couple of years.

Mike from London,

Good question. We have kicked that subject around some in the Cage, and to no conclusion. Some camps have him taking the starter money elsewhere, some have him staying for a possible Ring. J Norwood's salary in 2008 was $450,160 and #45 on a roster of 56. M Turner's salary for 2008 was $16,003,840 and was #1 on the roster. J Norwood was #3 in the League last year with 2138 all-purpose yards, which accounted for 27% of the falcon's total yards. A bit of disparity here? You bet. How this shakes down is anyones guess. Personally, I trust TD to do the right thing.

Hello there Flcons fans, can somebody please let me know what's going on with Jerious Norwood? would love him to stay. He is a difference maker on the offense whether it be kick returning, catching or as an RB and to top it off he seems like a nice guy on an off the field. If the Falcons want to throw their money anywhere, shouldn't it be on someone like Norwood?

BT,

Enjoyed your post. Mr. Cox summerized, via Mr. Bradley, my own "cautiously optomistic" attitude. I've been a fan, to one degree or another, since 1970. However, because of the leadership in place, from A Blank dowm to the person that washes Mrs. Abraham's underwear, are the real deal. This will be our break-out season. Thank you for your post.

jason,

Yes, Swilling did play for Tech. He and KB56 were teammates and charter members of the Black Watch.

BT

I think I have seen you around various blogs. aka BTW, aka Black Talon? Regardless, welcome to the Cage and enjoy your stay.
