Can’t see GB winning Puma… I know it’s hard to beat a team twice, but the Packers defense man… it’s not good. Course, Kaepernick could gift the game away, but I can’t see that happening.
January 7th, 20137:33 pm
Wondering if IT wise all AJC blogs are as slow as BRAVES is both posting and refreshing?
January 7th, 20137:37 pm
Who is going to win tonights game?
January 7th, 20137:44 pm
It’ll be all Aaron Rogers TOBF – SF offense won’t be able to keep up. I am hoping for similar result vs Seahawks.
January 7th, 20137:55 pm
I hope the Irish clown.

There you go again. Stretching the truth. Embellishing. Counting your chickens before they hatch.
January 7th, 20138:18 pm
Are we to continue providing hits to this blog while the IT dept fiddles? Would a slow down have any impact?
January 7th, 20138:22 pm
there is already a noticeable slowdown the last month.
maybe they were working on it earlier, right now it seems ok
who knows how long though
I just keep sending quotes in to the feedback
January 7th, 20138:24 pm
never mind, I spoke too soon
plus now the feedback section has disappeared

Good evening all.
January 7th, 20138:36 pm
Was this opening drive by Alabama a sign of things to come for the rest of the game? Should I have bet the Tide to cover?
January 7th, 20138:38 pm
Notre Dame sure looked good there…
January 7th, 20138:42 pm
maybe so Heath
January 7th, 20138:51 pm
…killed the blog. :/
January 7th, 20138:55 pm
If Alabama keeps grinding it out with the running game, they’ll wear down the Leprechauns. It’s about 75 degrees here tonight and being on the field 40 minutes will kill a defense.
January 7th, 20138:56 pm
it’s gonna get ugly….

End of 1st quarter – ND’s best play of the night
Lee in S GA
January 7th, 20139:23 pm
welcome to the SEC…. N.D.
January 7th, 20139:27 pm
This game is boring already. Is Honey Boo-Boo or the Kardashian’s “Which one of you rapper’s is my baby’s Daddy” on?
January 7th, 20139:29 pm
Looks like the blog and ND are both on Life Support.
January 7th, 20139:33 pm
McCarron will get an IV at halftime and be OK. You can’t discount what the heat and humidity will do to you if you haven’t seen it for two or three months.
Brent “Bucky Beaver” Musburger is almost as annoying as Chris Berman.
January 7th, 20139:35 pm
And yeah, I’m mad because UGA ain’t playing this game. I’m a sore looser, so sue me.
January 7th, 20139:59 pm
Has UGA ever won a National Championship?
January 7th, 201310:01 pm
Keep it up for the 2nd half
January 7th, 201310:05 pm
not in the BCS era… last won in 1980
January 7th, 201310:15 pm
that was Hershel’s freshman season wasn’t it? I shoulda remembered that
SEC SEC SEC. Now for all those who do not believe this is the superior league.
Hello to Venice Jim.
January 7th, 201310:25 pm
Mets are now in on jUpton.
Nolie, they beat ND. Herschel dislocated his shoulder on his first carry. Went out, had the shoulder put back in place and came back to rush about 30 times for 156 yards. That was in the Sugar Bowl in the Superdome. I was there and the next year when Dan Marino threw a 30 yard TD pass on 4th down to beat GA.
ND welcome to the real world.
January 7th, 201310:28 pm
the stalkers all hung on the chimney with care
in hopes that the headsman soon would be there
January 7th, 201310:30 pm
Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal
Add #Orioles to teams that have pursued JUpton. Strong interest a few weeks back, but talks sputtered. Team seemingly more focused on SPs.
thanx KL, I remember it now. Herschel was about as good as it gets IMO
January 7th, 201310:43 pm
that was right about the time that FSU started to get good.
I watched him in person all three years and he was the best running back I ever saw – his Freshman year. He should have won the Heisman in 80 but they didn’t give it to Freshman back then and I resented the A&M QB getting it this year as one. But he ran harder in 80 than 81 and 82.
January 7th, 201310:44 pm
This past season was the second consecutive season and third season in the past four that Furcal has been unable to post even adequate offensive numbers. Yes, shortstop production has been down recently, but of the 35 shortstops who accumulated at least 600 plate appearances over the past two seasons, Furcal’s 85 wRC+ ties for a middling 19th place. And his 1.2 WAR last season ranked dead last among the 20 shortstops who posted 500 or more plate appearances. So not only has Furcal been bad overall, he also has been bad for his position.
January 7th, 201310:45 pm
Looks like the championship game was actually played about a month ago.
January 7th, 201310:46 pm
he was my all time favorite college running back, up in the Jim Brown level IMO.
course I gotta rank Warwick Dunn up high too
January 7th, 201310:54 pm
I gotta rank Warwick Dunn up high too
I remember him. A Nole that became a Falcon.
that was a known fact Jake… lol. ND had about no shot, definitely showed… blow out, Alabama moving and scoring at will.
Feel sorry for the ND fans though, sure sukks to get embarrassed like this.

January 7th, 201311:03 pm
Warrick was pretty darn good, nolie, but he was no James Wilder Jr.
well at least the Irish scored
January 7th, 201311:04 pm
Mixxo – go over to his house tonight and put a Tide Box and a roll of toilet paper on his flag pole.
January 7th, 201311:05 pm
well Warwick set FSU records and helped win a title so I admit to some bias
also had a pretty decent pro career
January 7th, 201311:08 pm
Yeah, great player and even better human being.
(I was kidding about Wilder, seeing that he just got jailed for missing his court appearance on traffic charges. Not that my alma mater (UGA) hasn’t had it’s share of talented-but-boneheaded RB’s… hard to believe that before the season started we were relying on the thug Isaiah Crowell to carry the ball…)
Are they going to rerun the SEC Championship game after this?
January 7th, 201311:10 pm
kL: That was Todd Blackledge that beat us in ‘81. I hated him for that, but he turned out to be a pretty good TV analyst.
January 7th, 201311:13 pm
you know, I did not realize that he was part owner of the Falcons
January 7th, 201311:14 pm
Kenhotlanta – I looked it up to make sure.
they should…. that was the nat’l championship game. UGA better be ranked #2 after this….
January 7th, 201311:15 pm
kL: That was Todd Blackledge that beat us in ‘81. I hated him for that, but he turned out to be a pretty good TV analyst. — ken
YAY PENN STATE!!!!!!!
January 7th, 201311:16 pm
The bad thing for UGA is that the Leprechauns will be ranked higher in the final poll. Just another point for a playoff.
January 7th, 201311:17 pm
Sorry Tom. It was Dan Marino for Pittsburg not Blackledge.
it was Marino I think
January 7th, 201311:19 pm
Oh well, key, it was a RUSH just the same. Easy come, easy go…
January 7th, 201311:21 pm
ND may not even end up being ranked number two …UGA deserves that….but I am sure some will say Oregon would have beat AL…blah…blah…blah…another SEC championship…ESPN will be delightful
My bad, Penn State and Blackledge was ‘83.
January 7th, 201311:24 pm
nolie, me neither! I guess I remember hearing about it a while back, but had completely forgotten. Good karma, IMO. I like the guy a lot.
btw, when I was at UGA, my girlfriend was at FSU. Used to go down there for football weekends sometimes (which was always tough, because it was the Herschel era at UGA). Always had a great time down there…
ND comin’ back….
January 7th, 201311:35 pm
Oregon deserves #2. UGA should be #5, maybe 4.
January 7th, 201311:41 pm
42-14…. complete domination. Had their way with ND.
Sorry to all who didn’t think this would happen and told me I was wrong… maybe next time. 7 straight.
Playoff system should fix this, but FSU needs to be in the SEC. Course it won’t happen though.
January 7th, 201311:45 pm
The irony of it all is the big media outlets bemoaned the boredom of the all sec championship last year. Surely a different matchup between teams from different conferences would be more entertaining. This game was much hyped, but the sec title game this year was the “entertainment” that they said couldn’t be had between two sec teams. I just want to see the two best teams go at it, I don’t care what conference they are from.
Btw, loved the fact that the center pushed his own qb. I know it was nothing serious but I like competitors like that.
January 7th, 201311:48 pm

Be patient with the acc, hopefully they start to get it turned around soon. They had a good bowl season. No question though, sec is running things. I won’t hate, i’ll just wait on our day. Not like i’m not use to that already with all the Atlanta pro teams.
January 7th, 201311:56 pm
Jake, who’s your school? FSU?
January 8th, 201312:00 am
Anyone who hasn’t seen “Fargo” by the Coen Brothers should watch it at Midnight on AMC.
January 8th, 201312:04 am
I’ve seen it a couple of times, key. Great flick! Loved the pregnant sheriff.
On Nov 24 BAMA painted the state CRIMSON. On Dec 1 BAMA painted the SEC CRIMSON and tonight, Jan 7 BAMA painted the nation CRIMSON! National Championship # 15 is oh so sweet! ROLL TIDE!!!
January 8th, 201312:07 am
No Mike unfortunately i’m a fan of the U, my father’s originally from Miami and it rubbed off on me. We are definitely down right now but hopefully we can get back on the right track.

The performance of this AJC website is one of the worst on the interwebs……..I know 16 year old kids living in the basement who have smoother running websites that this garbage IT performance group trots out as a Virtual Fishwrap……spend some money and fix it you cheap bastards….
January 8th, 20131:34 am
All, have a good one! Peace my friends, and until tomrrow, all I’ll talk then, and “Go!!!!!Braves!!!!!”
January 8th, 20133:46 am
Its NOT the Indian people that care one iota. Its a VERY few vocal WHITE people crying about it and sticking their noses and busy bodies where they dont belong and where Indians dont have a problem with it at all! Seriously! Put he logo on all uniforms that have Indian n
ames….the Indian people are COOL WITH IT! Its only the liberal media latching onto it. Really. NOBODY THAT BUYS TICKETS CARES BECAUSE THE INDIANS DONT CARE….COUNTER THE FEW WHITE PEOPLE WITH A CAMPAIGN OF INDIANS SAYING THEY DONT CARE. HUNDREDS OF THEM!
BECAUSE THE INDIANS REALLY ARE NOT OFFENDED ONE BIT!
January 8th, 20134:24 am
The Real Brave….Dont really seem to “Brave” but more worried about being “politically correct” which lacks courage and leadership and speaks conformity and bending to pressure . By a few white people over somethign Indians are completely OK with? Are we going to continue to let a few vocal citizens with their own agenda force their agenda upon the other 90% of us so we have new generations coming up thinking if they are not politically correct they are wrong or evil? According to a few white minorites who promotes their way or you should be ashamed and evil? That is the NEW thing in this country that minorities use to get there way accepted over the rest of us and too many just roll over like nothing, bend to the pressure. so we can not be frowned upon and be politically correct. Bending to what?! These groups have learned how to make you think and act anyway they want and they will never stop since it works so well…the MAJORITY has to stand up for what the majority has always stood up for and having an Indian symbol is not racist or insulting. We just roll over. Wusses with no character or backbone. Just dont want to go against being “politically correct”. Who decides what is politically correct?! I would hope the MAJORITY but no, its the minority groups because they couldnt force their way on the majority so they use “bad publicity” scare tactics….and make everything they want “politically incorrect”….the list gets longer and longer and this nation is about to be overrun by the minority and the majority will be ruled by the minority using politically correctness and the media will back them up and give them publicity….Onemain problem is all the cowards in this country that are more concerned with being politically correct and everyone being so sensitive. Sensitive is one thing and love and politeness yeah I get that, but its went too far and now hundreds of things the majority are not for and politically incorrect and cowards just fold like a tent….I am with you Dave. I like the Indian and the Indian have no darn problem with it….fact. Only a few white people with nothign better to do than make sure “nobody” anywhere gets offended…even when the people arent offended in the slightest…listen up.
Dont be a Real Coward….be a Real Man and American….America wasnt built like this but it sure can be destroyed like this! Toughen UP. Be men! Be leaders! Stop rolling over and politicians and media and businesses are the worst…..they fold like tents! America needs men leadership. BE ONE! A real man……John Wayne you havent been. More like Rob Reiner….Be men…lead your families and churches and communities and have some backbone….John Wayne. Clint Eastwood. Ronald Reagan. George Patton. Eisenhower. Its time to be men….where have you all disappeared to? Gloria Steinem take your manhood? You know Christian Bale is her son? Might explain some of his issues.
You can only lose your balls if you let them take them…I choose to keep mine. So should all men…You were created to have dominion and were destined to reign….not be politically correct….
The Real Brave

Comments by people like this are the reason for the team not using the logo.
I am certain that those majority Native Americans really appreciated those Europeans coming to America, bring disease and strife to their land.
Read your good book, it says to be stewards of the earth, not dominators.
Also as someone once said don’t argue with an idiot because no one will be able to tell the difference between the two. I’ll let you rant alone.
Dump the logo!
January 8th, 20137:08 am
“BECAUSE THE INDIANS REALLY ARE NOT OFFENDED ONE BIT!……..”
And the uneducated white man has spoken. Thank you for your insight and wisdom.
January 8th, 20137:10 am
Columbus, take it down to 50 words or less and I’ll read it. And, please take your medication.

The Braves’ April 1 regular-season opener against Philadelphia at Turner Field will start at 7 p.m….
April 1, now. Only a fool would attend a game on April 1.
January 8th, 20139:07 am
Heyman has Tim Raines, Jack Morris, Dale Murphy, Curt Schilling, Don Mattingly, and Fred McGriff
Not this time
31. Barry Bonds: Love the 1.422 OPS in 2004. When he was 40.
32. Roger Clemens: Twilight of his career was better than real part of his career.
33. Mark McGwire: Can be compared to only three batters after age 33: Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Bonds. Before that, he was compared to Jay Buhner.
34. Rafael Palmeiro: Hall of Fame stats and congressional acting performance.
35. Sammy Sosa: There’s really no more hard evidence on him than a few others, but between the corked bat, the 66 home runs, a report of a failed 2003 test and confused testimony, he seems emblematic of an era. Will delay my vote on him until more evidence is in.
36. Mike Piazza: As with Sosa, I delayed my “yes” vote on the greatest hitting catcher of all-time to await more evidence. It has been reported he’s writing a book, so perhaps he will shed some light.
37. Jeff Bagwell: Deserving on the numbers, but as with Sosa and Piazza, I delayed my “yes” vote until further proof/word.
None of ‘em
