I can’t even imagine how JU must be feeling right now…
Good… if the Braves are in the mix!
December 27th, 201210:40 pm
I’d love to have Justin in the outfield with Jason and BJ. Keeps Prado at third and makes us a much stronger team offensively, IF we don’t have to mortgage the farm.
Later folks……………. Sudoku calls.

An enjoyable and thought-provoking book…
Cabin, by Lou Ureneck
Two brothers from a fairly rough upbringing decide to build a cabin in Maine. Well worth the 16 bucks.
December 27th, 201210:56 pm
Shortest Science Fiction book ever written:
He was the last person on Earth. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
December 27th, 201210:58 pm
Geez, ken, even the Doors song is longer than that!
December 27th, 201211:02 pm
That won some kind of writing contest many years ago.

Another day, another day of idleness for Frank Wren.

Diamondbacks Notes: Upton, Kubel, Ross
By Zach Links [December 27 at 5:51pm CST]
Just before holidays, Rangers assistant GM Thad Levine told Jim Bowden of SiriusXM that the club has had nothing but great conversations with the Diamondbacks about outfielder Justin Upton. However, despite talking for the bulk of the winter, the two sides have yet to hammer out a deal. Could Upton have a new home in the New Year? Here’s more on that and other links on the Diamondbacks..
•It appears that a possible trade of Upton has become a reality again following the surprise signing of Cody Ross, writes Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. General Manager Kevin Towers will almost certainly be entertaining offers and one person familiar with their thinking says that “someone will go.”

Yes, Frank should have interrupted Christmas week to do something unilateral since no one else is doing anything…

December 27th, 201211:28 pm
phil, I guess that’s why it’s called Science Fiction. SciFi fans used to publish newsletters full of fiction and articles similar to today’s blogs, and this 2 sentence story was discussed forever and in every way possible as to what it means and why. It was always interesting stuff. I think this would have been in the 60’s.
December 27th, 201211:48 pm
mora vs. lame kitten in the same town.
said it before the season started. they both think they are bigger then the huge program they coach.
December 27th, 201211:52 pm
Only one is a huge program – and I hope you are not referring to the nonsensical “late to dinner” story, which was a travesty of a mockery of a sham…
December 27th, 201211:54 pm
You were right. Gattis is done for the season!
December 27th, 201211:57 pm
still cant believe BOSS was cancelled.
But in back in Venezuela for round robin next week.
December 28th, 201212:01 am
vj, why not? deflated footballs. changed numbers on his kickers
December 28th, 201212:03 am
That was not the question I asked, but it’s okay to respond in a totally non-linear manner – just humorous how jealous SEC people are to have lost him from the sacred brotherhood of football perfection…
December 28th, 201212:05 am
Braves are high on Graham. Don’t see them trading him — brian
That is correct.

Nobody in the SEC gives a S*H*I*T that Lame Kitten left……
December 28th, 201212:08 am
vj, down here in the south we call paul johnson Megamind.
the guy really believes he can out score every team he plays.
talent has nothing to do with it. he really believes his system his talent proof, and he blames his players for not executing proper.

No offence, But DOB has almost the entire winter off, only has to cover winter meetings for a few days. — George_George
No offense, but is anybody really still buying into George’s ridiculous faux-naivety act?
And George, in answer to your comment this morning regarding the chances of this being the last blog of the year, I’d say chances are pretty good, since Carroll and I are both on vacation.
December 28th, 201212:12 am
DOB, pretty sure you snowboard. ever ski anymore?
December 28th, 201212:13 am
a-hem (cough, cough) please don’t feed the a-trolls! It just makes them come back for more.
December 28th, 201212:15 am
as far as the braves go I Love the BJ upton signing and i have zero problem with them going internal as long as prado is on board as going back and forth between left and 3rd base.
December 28th, 201212:18 am
we finally signed a guy in their prime. at least their is upside.
i give credit to wren on this one.
December 28th, 201212:21 am
This is parked behind a house on my sister’s street here in Colorado, where I’ve been since Christmas:
December 28th, 201212:22 am
vj. lame kitten is not in that sacred brotherhood. he did a drive by in the sec and put tenn on near probation.
Cousin Eddie from Christmas Vacation in that tin can…….
December 28th, 201212:25 am
Nice Airstream, DOB – top-of-the-line, IMO
Dob, please tell me you are not staying in that gulfstream?
December 28th, 201212:27 am
i think tom nailed it better. .
December 28th, 201212:35 am
so lets rank really good shows
sons of anarchy
December 28th, 201212:36 am
the killing start to end was pretty damn good.
December 28th, 201212:39 am
Lane Kiffin, Jim Mora, Bobby Petrino, Paul Johnson: Drop ‘em all off at Alcatraz and let ‘em swim back. I think you could add Nick Saban to that group, he just hasn’t been caught yet.
December 28th, 201212:40 am
That there Clark, is an “Arrrrrrr-Veee”. And don’t go getting attached to it, cause we’re taking it with us when we leave next month!”
December 28th, 201212:41 am
Good list, uga…I would add Falling Skies and Hell on Wheels.
December 28th, 201212:46 am
i guess i should learn how to make smiley face. i guess that would take away tone.
December 28th, 201212:49 am
Spell: wink or LOL or twisted or evil
Heckuva lot easier than bolding and italics; which I refuse to do.
ken, great coach list but i respect saban.
i respect urban meyer also.
December 28th, 201212:51 am
I’m betting that if Gattis makes the squad, that’ll be a popular fan uni for 2013.
December 28th, 201212:52 am
Spell: wink or LOL or twisted or evil
I was gonna shut down, but I’ll stick around a tad longer. I want to see how this comes out.
Don’t care for Saban since the Miami promise.
December 28th, 201212:53 am
wayne, colon and a wink went just above like a fart in a church.
this shyt might be too hard for uga………….. Heck, he hasn’t figgered out capitalization yet!
December 28th, 201212:54 am
lower case…….on the wink, that is
uga, Saban and Meyer are the best of the best, no doubt.
December 28th, 201212:55 am
I like the new batting practice caps with the screaming brave………grew up with him and Noc a Homa…….you know the panty wad crowd gonna scream over that………I woulda put the screaming brave on the sleeve of the new cream uniforms last year like it used to be instead of the crossed tomahawks but nobody asked me…..Noc a Homa had a kid named Hit a Single that came with him……loved it when he came out the tee pee and yelled at the old ballpark………better than the chick fil a cow I’m telling you……..selah (I miss Furman Bisher)
uga – it’s faster if you use a semi-colon and a rightside parenthesis (the thing over zero)
December 28th, 201212:57 am
December 28th, 201212:58 am
More than one way to skin a cat, huh.
uga… you haven’t quite nailed it, yet.
December 28th, 201212:59 am
Whaddya expect from a UGA guy?
December 28th, 20121:00 am
December 28th, 20121:02 am
DOB, pretty sure you snowboard. ever ski anymore? — uga-brave
Never. Rode skateboard when I was a kid, and snowboarding is real similar in the turns and general lines and grooves you follow. Love it. No interest at all in learning to ski at my age.
Ha, ha Wayne, the funny thing is uga NEVER uses upper case!
December 28th, 20121:03 am
Nice Airstream, DOB – top-of-the-line, IMO — O’Hawke
Absolutely. I’d like to have one myself.
December 28th, 20121:04 am
STOP WITH THE CAPITAL LETTERS I mean, stop with the capital letters
December 28th, 20121:05 am
When we moved out this way back over 10 years ago, my youngest two sons were 10 and 15. They took to boarding like they were born doing it. Both have toned down their participation in recent years, but as they tell me, it’s a darn site easier than learning to ski.
lower case buddy, lower case………
exposed, for a guy that carries a jitterbug.
some people used to insunuate that Noc A Homa drink and smoked left handed cigarettes in that tee pee………well………if you had to watch some of those 70’s teams every night you would too……real name was Levi Walker…..later had a falling out with the Braves and they parted ways…….
December 28th, 20121:07 am
December 28th, 20121:08 am
colon lol, colon right?
December 28th, 20121:09 am
My dream retirement is to have a basement apartment in one of my kid’s home up in northern Utah, a condo in St George (which we sorta have already w/ my mom-in-law’s place that she doesn’t use) and a permanent lot at the Pirateland Campground just south of Myrtle Beach!
Add in a convertible (preferably a Mustang) to travel between them in………….. And then I’m set. Figger about 5 more years of working and I should be able to pull it off.
But that Airstream would be too much………. Just showin off!
December 28th, 20121:10 am
right, buddy .. You should have it this time!
right……… and no spaces.
December 28th, 20121:14 am
I’m getting all anxious here… waiting… and wondering… and waiting…
December 28th, 20121:17 am
got several duplicate comments, so we may see a ton of smiley faces.
December 28th, 20121:19 am
everytime i go colon LOL colon i get dup comments.
Ya know, uga… “ton” spelled backwards, is “not”.
December 28th, 20121:20 am
Just submit it ONCE, uga. The blog hasn’t been working too well, lately. It’ll get there… patience. Don’t submit it a 2ND time.
December 28th, 20121:22 am
tom, i am the least wired in guy alive.
i did colon lol colon. :lol;
December 28th, 20121:23 am
try one last time
Not sure he’s gotten the concept of “no lower case” yet. Can’t expect too much from these Georgia boys early on. They take a while to catch on.
We Clemson guys might not be the brightest flashlight in the drawer, but when compared to UGA folk, we shine like the sun!
December 28th, 20121:25 am
Well I’ll be damned, he got it!!!
Great teaching job Tom!
December 28th, 20121:26 am
uga… you finished with a semi-colon. The smiley people are fussy… they won’t allow that kind of lackadaisicalness !
December 28th, 20121:27 am
To quote Marv Albert:
December 28th, 20121:28 am
tom o”hawke now you have created a smilin face monster.
December 28th, 20121:30 am
an entire new world has opened up for me.
thank you tom and wayne.
December 28th, 20121:31 am
December 28th, 20121:33 am
You’re welcome, uga
Now, try the winky face… either the way Wayne told you, but with lower case wink or the shortcut that I had mentioned… semi-colon ; and then the right parenthesis ) with no space and a not next to any else
December 28th, 20121:34 am
Have to skip a space on your colon, lol, colon uga
December 28th, 20121:35 am
keep at it uga…………
Not sure what was wrong with that one:lol:
maybe it has to go on the next line or have a space before the first colon?
December 28th, 20121:37 am
December 28th, 20121:39 am
Now, we’ve created a monster!
know can wink
December 28th, 20121:40 am
Heckuva lot more interesting than talking about whether Schafer or Constanza are going to be the 5th outfielder…………. or if we are even going to have a 5th outfielder.
wayne total monster.
December 28th, 20121:42 am
bas, look away, look away.
December 28th, 20121:44 am
I take it BAS isn’t a big fan of the emoticons, uga?
tom, straight up, thanks for the patience. you are good agent, really mean that.
December 28th, 20121:45 am
December 28th, 20121:48 am
My pleasure, uga, my pleasure. I just wish someone was writing this all down, dangit!
As time will be the final witness, I think many will consider this to rank right up there with Jesus rising Lazarus from the dead!
Of course, only time will tell…
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
