I like that too Zing

Is this the year for that international competition, and if so are any of our boys going to play in it?
Ken Burns entire documentary can be seen on MLB network on Christmas eve, pay attention and you might see nolie in his heyday.

I’d rather have GATTIS over PARRA. He’s ours, and we need to see what he brings to the table before going after someone else. If we don’t land BOURN, I’m for staying out of the LF dumpster until ST is well along. A trade is always a possibility at some point in February-March for a good player like GERARDO if not he.
“…….And for what it’s worth, he’s hitting a whole lot better this winter, both in terms of average and power, than Aguilas teammate Gerardo Parra of the Diamondbacks……DOB
Always nice to see one’s thoughts reinforced by the blog-meister himself.
Hey Ozzie, what’s that you said? Nevermind.
Off hand, I’d say EVAN has gotten the hang of AA pitching.
December 23rd, 20127:38 pm
That must be the dead ball era they will be showing CB if noles is there
And a Day of Rain
December 23rd, 20127:39 pm
Freddy and JHay neither hit too well against lefties last year. Mejis or Gattis could sub against lefties and could provide a useful DH in the thirteen away games we play against AL teams before the trade deadline. Freddy has had eye and knee problems and Mejis would certainly be a better fit as a temporary replacement than what we had last year. Give them both a long look in ST anyway.

Heh! Good ‘un.
CB: Saying a prayer that all is well at your home and with your family. Best Wishes for a good Holiday Season.
December 23rd, 2012
If Gattis is the LF, lock up JHey and Prado now! Maybe Meds.
December 23rd, 20127:42 pm
the swisher deal makes the bossman junior deal look better!!
and yes, our bench is purty terrible. go bravos.
December 23rd, 20127:43 pm
Redskins win next week vs Cowboys and were NFC East Champs.
But if we lose we can still get in even if the Giants beat the Eagles.
To get it we would need the Rams to beat the Seahawks OR the Lions to beat the Bears.
Or the Giants to Lose along with a Lions victory.
If the Giants Win, Cowboys Win, Rams Win, Lions Win
The Redskins, Giants, and Cowboys will all make the Playoffs.
thank you TOBF
Mejia might spell Freddie some, but I will be surprised if it is all that much unless Freddie really struggles, and I wonder if McCann won’t start some of those AL games at DH for a bit of rest
nolie is the sitting beside Keneshaw Landis
You ready for the game?
December 23rd, 20127:45 pm
Back at you, rich. I also hope things are better with your wife and her health issues. Merry Christmas
December 23rd, 20127:47 pm
Freddy and JHay neither hit too well against lefties last year. Mejis or Gattis could sub against lefties.
So, your idea is to turn Freeman and Heyward into platoon players? Great idea!!!
December 23rd, 20127:48 pm
If I can stay awake
December 23rd, 20127:49 pm
I trust nolie’s opinion in all things baseball.
GATTIS’ splits against LH’ers down south are pretty ugly if I remember. Like 128 [39 AB] against lefties and 338 [151AB] against RH. That can’t be right can it?
December 23rd, 20127:53 pm
Thanx CB. Slowly improving.
December 23rd, 20127:55 pm
Stay up? Til 9ish? I think you’ll survive
December 23rd, 20127:57 pm
My sister in law woke me up with a text at 6:30 this morning…took the kids to a holiday thing down at the Queen Mary…
December 23rd, 20128:00 pm
I’ll watch for ya.
December 23rd, 20128:01 pm
Let me have some wine and I should be ok
December 23rd, 20128:11 pm
I want us to showcase Mejis as much as possible before the deadline since Freddy has him blocked, Sure would be nice to get someone in return for him to help this year or prospects for the future.
December 23rd, 20128:31 pm
Against lefties Heyward went- .224/.280/.635
Uggla (everyones whipping boy)- .220/.348/.732
December 23rd, 20128:32 pm
small sample size Rich… in the minor leagues, he’s a masher of lefties, and solid against RHP
Doesn’t matter what you say- we already beat the Packers
December 23rd, 20128:40 pm
I hope I didn’t scare Tom away…
December 23rd, 20128:42 pm
Of course not… that was just our way of saying “hi”.
December 23rd, 20128:44 pm
Can’t you just say Hello like a normal person?
(bonus points if you know where that quote is from)
December 23rd, 20128:46 pm
Of course not… (not without cheating)
December 23rd, 20128:47 pm
The World is Not Enough
(I could give you the scene, but I’m too lazy to type the whole thing out- and yes, I can do it off the top of my head. I’m a nerd like that)
December 23rd, 20128:48 pm
Also, who is “our”- you and the voices?
December 23rd, 20128:49 pm
Ha! Even after CHEATING I got it wrong. I came My computer came up with, “Golden Eye”.
December 23rd, 20128:50 pm
ATL has former Cubs 1st rd pick Ryan Harvey listed as a pitcher, so despite success as a hitter in the indy league, they’re making him a P
that’s just misfortunate
“our” = our exchange instead of “hi”.
December 23rd, 20128:51 pm
Ah- got it
December 23rd, 20128:54 pm
Harvey, in case you’ve forgotten, was the guy who hit .302/.342/.563/.905 for Lancaster in the Independent league over 109 games (427 PAs) with 27 HR and 79 RBI
Can’t find anything for him being a pitcher, but whatever you guys in the FO wanna do… I mean, it’s not like we need hitters
December 23rd, 20128:56 pm
I’ll recommend American Gangster to anyone looking for a good movie. Just watched it and don’t know how I missed it for 6 years (2007 movie).
Ya know… I’m not even sure if I WANT the dang bye.
2010 = no bye = Super Bowl Champs
2012 = bye = blown away in the first game
December 23rd, 20128:57 pm
Well, apparently he tried pitching in 2011, but I can’t find any stats… but he was a hitter last year.
Former top pick converting to pitching for the 2011 season. Athletic. In high school, Harvey had a 94 mph fastball.
December 23rd, 20129:00 pm
Don’t know anything about that kid, but with those numbers… making him a pitcher is the dumbest thing ever. How old is he?
December 23rd, 20129:17 pm
He’s 28 JC.
December 23rd, 20129:18 pm
Seattle couldn’t have hoped for any better of a start to this game.
December 23rd, 20129:20 pm
Hello everyone! VJ drinking, and now Cab will be drinking all the more……little humor.
December 23rd, 20129:21 pm
VJ is working
December 23rd, 20129:23 pm
Kaep really loves those DOGs…
What does that even mean?
December 23rd, 20129:24 pm
Cab – Just messing…..Giants played well, like they didn’t wan’t to be there….. Alive, but barely……
December 23rd, 20129:25 pm
December 23rd, 20129:26 pm
cab was wondering what TOBF was saying… and that makes 2 of us.
December 23rd, 20129:29 pm
If I remember right Harvey was thought of as a two way player who wanted to play instead of pitch when he was drafted. He has the same birthday as me. I missed that we had gotten him I guess
All talk tomorrow, hope the G – Men can rebound next week. I’m shaking off the defeat, and hope for a better Sunday next week. Peace my friends, and Talk tomorrow, and “Go!!!!!Braves!!!!!”,and “Go!!!!!Giants!!!!!” well, hopeful next weekend….
December 23rd, 20129:30 pm
49ers needed that play.
What a great pick by Pat Willis
on no, dreaded pointyball talk. BLAH!!!
December 23rd, 20129:33 pm
yea, a little pointy ball… can only re-hash the LF/bench talk so much.
December 23rd, 20129:34 pm
Tis the season for football, noles, AND..
..Tis the season to be jolly
So, if you don’t like football, do you have to be such a grouch?
Why is THIS webpage so slow? I would guess all the ads and that damn bar I can’t get rid off (even with the ghosty thingy.
Jolly people are creepy
December 23rd, 20129:35 pm
why “never mind”? He’s just in his prime, may have some value as a bench or platoon bat. He’s not old yet…
that was his 2nd delay of game today, think he had to take 2 timeouts already to avoid 2 others. Seen him do that a bit more often than most other QBs I watch (esp. mine)
December 23rd, 20129:36 pm
Well, you came to the right place then, cabravesfan. There’s, DEFINITELY, a dearth of jolly folks on here.
December 23rd, 20129:37 pm
I haven’t seen him do it much and I’ve seen nearly all his games.
December 23rd, 20129:39 pm
And clearly, you have not seen many games played in Seattle…happens all the time there
DOGs = Delay of Games
OK, got it. I had no idea what you were talking about, before.
December 23rd, 20129:44 pm
Both personal fouls tonigt were bogus calls.
December 23rd, 20129:45 pm
December 23rd, 20129:47 pm
That’s Seattle’s 2nd time out to avoid a delay of game too… (to go along with one penalty)
December 23rd, 20129:52 pm
I’d like to slap Harbaugh and Carroll right across the lips.
December 23rd, 20129:54 pm
Pete…..not our Carroll.
Hugo Z Hackenbush
Perhaps the Seahwaks will let Raul Ibanez play quarterback for the second half…
December 23rd, 20129:55 pm
Why, Mixxo, did you catch one of them cheating on you with the other?
Watch out Carroll, Mixxo wants to hit you.
DOB will protect you though
December 23rd, 20129:57 pm
Don’t drink and blog kids…
December 23rd, 20129:59 pm
They reek of west coast arrogance.
Don’t drink and blog? Dude, if i had to read some of this stuff without the aid of alcohol…
December 23rd, 201210:01 pm
Jim Harbaugh, born in Ohio, went to Michigan, spent 11 of his 13 NFL years in Chicago, Indy, & Baltimore, west coast arrogance? (What is that anyways?)
December 23rd, 201210:02 pm
Ha,ha… do you still have your doghouse, cabravesfan?
December 23rd, 201210:03 pm
I just meant it leads to tyops…
I do, but there is a special place for Mixxo…the doghouse is too good for him
December 23rd, 201210:04 pm
c’mon cab, it’s Mixxo, consider the source
December 23rd, 201210:06 pm
I thought you were just imitating TOBF with “Seahwaks”. (He said the same thing at 9:17)
Oh I know- I sorta love Mixxo and his perpetual grumpiness.
pity not anger….
December 23rd, 201210:07 pm
nolie – did you see that Leverage was not renewed? Last show coming up Christmas night…(I know you wait to watch)…
can’t say the same
December 23rd, 201210:08 pm
At least I had an excuse Tom…
no I did not see that, damn
December 23rd, 201210:09 pm
Well, I sorta love you and your perpetual grumpiness too
December 23rd, 201210:10 pm
♥ ♥ ♥
December 23rd, 201210:11 pm
maybe we’ll get an interesting 2nd half, like last week.
If it was possible to be drunk on redbull, monster, and Coca-Cola, I guess I’d be drunk daily. Still patiently awaiting my first sip of the good stuff…
December 23rd, 201210:12 pm
hate to see them replace a good show, they try 5 trashy one to get finally get a decent one it seems, and then they cancel it. shows like All In The Family would never even get on the air nowdays
Hi, folks. I’m so sick of being sick. Regarding Leverage, I thought it funny that a week ago the commercials referred to the Christmas episode as being the season finale. Now they’re calling it the series finale. I know they were waiting on TNT to decide their fate; at least the producers got to end it the way they envisioned. Wasn’t their biggest fan, but it was entertaining…
December 23rd, 201210:13 pm
difference between grumpiness and negativity
That damn tie might cost the Niners a bye (not that I have any doubts they can win 3 playoff games. I have none)…
December 23rd, 201210:14 pm
lost Last Chance already, I thought that was pretty decent.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
