REDSKINS move into control of the NFC East with a win today over the BROWNS 38-21. At least a tie between the GIANTS, COWBOYS and ‘D.C. REDSKINS control the division by virtue of tiebreaker advantages with both GIANTS and COWBOYS with two to play.

He’s 26. He’s not a typical corner OFer, which makes him NOT a fit for the Braves.
And he has a .301 career OBP.

I look at Bourjos numbers in 147 games in ‘11 and honestly don’t see a that big a drop in numbers Bourn can put together in that amount of games. From what I read he’s a very good defender too.

Exactly CTB… stock on him is low right now, but he’s a very good buy low candidate. He was very good when he played full-time in 2011 and throughout the minors. Whoever gets him and uses him as a full-time player will be getting a stud. Sure, he may lose some value by moving to a corner spot, but he’d be a very valuable player, especially considering that we get our power from CF, 2B, and C, all unusual places to get such power. He could end up being a leadoff guy for us, and comes cheap.

TOBF, I know and we need a leadoff man. His career numbers might be misleading since his playing time had been all over the place and I believe he got injured this season at some point.

Bourjos would just be a pure speed and defense upgrade. Bat is very questionable. Now if we knew he could match his 2011 season or better he’d be a nice pick up. Wren cannot give up but so much for a player like this tho. He’s not a upgrade over our platoon options, but does have some offensive potential to go along with his already Elite level defense and great speed.
If we were to trade for him and give him the job, we’d still have Francisco, Johnson, and Gattis as a backup plan. But I’m sure our pitchers wouldn’t mind Bourjos being out there. He’s a better OFer than Prado, and Prado represents a upgrade on defense at 3rd base. Could work depending on what it takes to get him.

Bourjos probably wouldn’t bat leadoff, bat him 8th and let the season play out a bit. See how Simmons is doing in the #2 spot behind Prado if thats there plan.

Don’t see why we shouldn’t expect Bourjos to come near his 2011 numbers if he was a starter for us…. he was great in the minors, great in 2011… when he played full-time. He struggled in 2010 as a part-timer, and in 2012 as a part-timer. Had an injury past season as well
I wish Bourjos to the Braves would happen… seems like they’re more interested in Trumbo which won’t happen. Frank doesn’t want to get the players I like LOL.

Bourjos to me is all about price. If the price makes sense, I’d run his Elite defense out there everyday and see how the bat comes along. We’d still have our in-house options as our backup plan.

2 or 8 for Bourjos, imo…. Simmons gets the other spot. Bourjos has struggled in his limited playing time of late, but he has more experience than Simmons. I’d be more willing to hit him 2, but either works. Groom the 2 of them, we’ve got 2 guys who can hit at the top of the order if Prado moves on.

Bourjos isn’t a free agent til 2017 also. What we know for sure is the Elite Defense and Speed he’ll provide. Question is can he hit enough to make it worth having out there everyday? He’s not a pure single’s hitter so I think he could. 49 XBH in 2011.

It would still be a gamble, but atleast we’ll have options.
Johnson, veteran guy who is solid on defense and hits LHP with not much power.
Francisco, young guy with monster power and terrible approach and discipline at the plate.
Gattis, 26 year old minor league slugger, defensive liability.
Bourjos, Defensive Stud with blazing speed, questionable bat with potential.
