You right it would take to many for Stanton..
December 3rd, 20129:49 pm
Come on people, stop with the “I can’t understand how the braves are not in on this player or Wren isn’t talking to this team.” None of knows every team Wren is talking to or every player he has had and is having discussions about. You are complaining about something you don’t know about. None of knows every or even a 1/3 of the discussions he is having.

“Is it possible she is now Angel Eyes.. Either way I liked her as a blogger because she added to the conversation.”
Kinda creepy to have a bunch of Cheetos eating fat guys chasing down Amber……
December 3rd, 201210:00 pm
Trade Julio Terhan and Delgado for Justin Upton and Put O’flerty as a starter that can only go 5 innings until Beachy comes back. You have to brothers on the same team, then they will start to like the surroundings of Atlanta; possibly win use a world series and get us a little extra cash for the team. More people will come to the game to see them hit in the same lineup and those people will buy food therefore you’ll be making money and sets you up for the next few years. People dont really come to the game when those to guys pitch anyways, they wanna see medlen or hudson but now they have something new to watch brothers. So it sets us up for the future to bring in more star players in which we will win more world series!
December 3rd, 201210:03 pm
Trade for Rajai Davis. That’s my guess. Hope Gattis gets a shot at some playing time.
Mr. Pitts.. not sure who you are referring to as the Cheeto’s eating fat guys and who are the guys chasing Amber down?
I simply noticed on the blog that one of them said Amber Girl is now Angel Eyes. Don’t really care if Amber is a girl or some guy in a recliner. I just thought it was funny that she said she was signing off for sleepy time every night around 7 or 8 p.m. I have friends in Australia and know when I talk to them that’s around noon their time. Just thought it was interesting the someone who should be in school was going to sleep at noon every day. Just made several of us think that Amber was probably just a fictional character some dude made up for laughs…
December 3rd, 201210:09 pm
Agreed. Angel Eyes is Amber girl. lol
December 3rd, 201210:10 pm
Wow…just wow. Please stop with the absurdity. I won’t even begin to address all that is wrong with your post, but for starters, the DBacks have said they are seeking a ML ready SS, for starters.
YAY the blogs are fast again. Man they have been SLOW the past week.
December 3rd, 201210:12 pm
If we can’t find a leftfielder, leave Prado there, and platoon Francisco/Pastornicky at 3rd base. And don’t tell me Pastornicky can’t play 3rd.
December 3rd, 201210:13 pm
Off to work I go. Hope wren does to but I doubt it. See ya
December 3rd, 201210:15 pm
so…it’s going to be another mediocre year, is what you’re saying.
December 3rd, 201210:17 pm
Folks you need to RELAX. It’s December 3rd for gosh sakes. All these people freaking out that Wren hasn’t made a move yet….Has any name been signed and/or traded that you were even worried about in the first place? Give the man some time. We will hopefully get something good for being patient.
December 3rd, 201210:19 pm
If we can get J.Upton without giving up Simmons then its simple and plan what the Braves should do. Pagan just make Shane V. a couple extra millions hopefully not to much cuz the guy plays hard and play the game the right way. He got speed a lil pop and good defence. What more could you ask for he should be the braves second choice. hands down
December 3rd, 201210:21 pm
@Ray: It’s a little difficult to believe that Wren is making moves under the radar after being so gung-ho about B.J. Upton. The fact that the Braves and KC have not been linked with one another makes me believe that Wren has no interest in them as a trading partner. Obviously, that’s a disappointing notion, seeing how both teams want what the other has. KC wants pitching, and the Braves have plenty of that. ATL wants a left-fielder/quality bat… well, KC has Wil Myers. The Braves have made mistakes in the past with holding on to pitchers for far too long, and never trading them when their at the peak value. Medlen would net Myers easily, but it seems the Braves are too concerned with what they would be losing in Medlen rather than seeing what they would be gaining in a guy like Myers.
December 3rd, 201210:24 pm
@Golden Sombreros: That’s what many of us thought last off-season… things didn’t pan out.
December 3rd, 201210:28 pm
Yea I hear ya Sporty, but all we can do is wait and see. No need to freak out about something that hasn’t happened yet. TRUST ME….I would love for J-Upton or something along those lines…..intrigued with Wil Myers and Alex Gordon. We’ll have to wait and see what happens. I’m not gonna cruicfy the man though. For all we know he’s real close to a blockbuster as I type this or one was taken away from him because of a trade falling through. There is a lot more going on behind the scenes than good ol Frank standing pat to placate the fan base.
We lost a lot of offense and the offense we had last season wasn’t enough. Wren needs to pick it up because B.J. and Schafer aren’t the answer to our wimpy offense. At present it is wimpier versus last year.
December 3rd, 201210:29 pm
Making the playoffs in baseball is not mediocre. It’s actually an acomplishment just to get there. Most exclusive playoffs in US major league sports.
December 3rd, 201210:31 pm
Also, hilarious that so many people think the offseason is over on the 1st day of winter meetings. Stay tuned…
December 3rd, 201210:32 pm
I agree with most of the sentiments here though….we can’t rely n Schafer or Constanzas IMO. Gattisis an interesting wild card, but we don’t know what we have yet. J-Upton would be a xmas gift, but Myers or Gordon would be nice stocking stuffers as well. Hopefully a deal is made and gives us fans something to blog more about. The Cody Ross’s and Ichiro’s of the world simply don’t get me excited.
December 3rd, 201210:34 pm
But that’s okay—just relax. You can always count on our bumbling, fumbling GM to do something (he is probably headed to Tokyo soon to search for the next great Japanese hitter).
December 3rd, 201210:38 pm
@Golden Sombreros: I’m not advocating the lynching of Frank Wren, I’m simply voicing my opinion on these matters. I would also love to have J. Upton become a Brave, but I doubt Arizona will accept anything less than Simmons. Of course, most would hate losing Simmons, especially after what we have seen Andrus go on to do with Texas. Myers seems like our best bet, in my opinion, only because the package for him wouldn’t require Simmons. Again, the Braves aren’t going to run out of quality arms, they’re always developing.
December 3rd, 201210:39 pm
I completely screwed up that post. “I would also love to have J. Upton become a Brave…” horrible.
Golden Sombreros…you basically just proved everyone in the country right with that comment. You want them to make a move to you can….blog about it?
Try going to more than 5 games a year, Atlanta. Commenting isn’t going to increase the team’s payroll.
December 3rd, 201210:45 pm
Comfortably Dumb – Let me first put you in your place by saying….you don’t know the FIRST thing about me or what I do. You also disrespect all the true Atlanta fans by insinuating we are a bunch of slackers who bitch on blogs from the comfort of our livingrooms instead of going to the games. Cry me a pessismistic river. I’ve been going to games since Dale Murphy was in the outifield. I support his team every year regardless of the “product” that is on the field. I was simply making a point how it would be cool for us to have something awsome to blog about instead of all this bitching that’s going on. We are after all on a BLOG talking about the braves. What do you think all these people on here are gonna do once ome moves ae made and the season begins? Just sit here on the blog and bitch? NOPE….like me many of them will be down at the TED kicking back some cold ones till the 7th inning cheering on the team.
bring back blauser
December 3rd, 201210:46 pm
everyone seems to miss what is going on in Nashville, it is a fishing expedition, gms are fishing for the best deal they can get, the more desperate a team is the more they are willing to give away, and the smart gm like the good fisherman will dangle the right bait and wait for the right fish to bite
December 3rd, 201210:48 pm
Question I asked before…… why dont we go after Scutaro?
man why do you guys have to attack each other because you disagree? lighten up gentlemen it’s just a game and none of our opinions count anyway.
December 3rd, 201210:51 pm
@sporty my point is there is no way anyone on here knows even 10% of the teams Wren is talking to about trades or free agents. None of us have the inside track. So for some to freak out saying Wren needs to be in talks with this team or that team without having any facts that he isn’t is a bit nutty.
December 3rd, 201210:52 pm
I don’t take crap from someone hiding behind a computer screen. He called me out along with all other ethusiastic brave bloggers. Sorry, it must be the German/Scottish in me. lol
Amber or Angel its ok..stay around like your interest.
December 3rd, 201210:57 pm
jbill….. agree about Amber or Angel….. good fire for the Braves.. That’s alway good.
December 3rd, 201210:59 pm
Golden Sombreros ….. I understand….. man I’ve enjoyed reading your posts here. It’s amazing how we as Braves fans can turn on each other over a suggestion that doesn’t even count.. LOL..
December 3rd, 201211:05 pm
The Braves messed up when they overpaid for B.J Upton. They should have signed free agent Shane Victorino for center and then traded for Justin Upton for left. This way they would have gotten to good players and had money left for Grenkie. But that didn’t happen so it is what it is. Good luck Wren
Kelly Johnson is still out thre as a FA can play third of outfield
December 3rd, 201211:17 pm
Jimiz, we would have $0 available for Greinke in your scenario. The Greinke dream is that we’re being sold and getting an entirely new budget. But how likely is that?
December 3rd, 201211:21 pm
Likewise Nashville…..I don’t dig all the negative nancy stuff…just brings everyone down IMO. I hope FW makes a splash so he can shut all the naysayers up, but truthfully you can’t please everyone so there will still be the complainers when he’s done. For me I would be elated with a J-Upton trade…happy with Myers or Gordon…and freaking bonkers if something crazy happened for an even better player than mentioned. NO to the re-treads and older guys. SPEED + POWER please!!
December 3rd, 201211:23 pm
Golden Sombreros……I don’t know if it’s been done yet or not but it would be fun to all meet at a Braves game next summer and put faces to screen names…
December 3rd, 201211:25 pm
have a Braves bloggers section and watch a game together…
December 3rd, 201211:31 pm
That would be interesting. I’m not sure if Amber Girl would be able to make it being on the other side of earth…Even if she could is she really just 15? Do we call her Amber Girl or Angel Eyes? Or is her real name BOB sitting behind a pc eating cheetos with a capri sun? lol
December 3rd, 201211:49 pm
I still think the Braves are after Greinke…WHY?
We don’t have a true ACE on our pitching staff where as the Nats (gio) and Phillies (Doc) do…The Braves have Huddy and he’s a great #2
December 4th, 201212:04 am
@UNCBrave: And how do the Braves pay Greinke? Are we offering gift certificates to free agents now?
December 4th, 201212:14 am
Gattis and Mejia have 19 of their Venezuelan team’s 34 homers, and 29 RBI apiece to tie for 2nd in the league.
Teheran and Delgado available in potential “significant” trade
December 4th, 201212:30 am
Gattis and Mejia are good sluggers, but what do we do with them defensively? Both seem like dead ends to me. Unless they have Gattis commit to catching duties full time.
December 4th, 201212:42 am
Please, Mr. Wren, do NOT sign Victorino, Ichiro, or any other over priced player who is on his last leg! We don’t need to dumpster dive anymore Frankie! How about an internal option? How about we trade or sign another big fish instead of catching a whole bunch of old decaying minnows?
December 4th, 20128:44 am
Actually, Dexter Fowler, Alex Gordon and Ichiro are the main guys that have CHANCE to come here. Don’t rule out Swisher yet either. I prefer Gordon myself, but after that I would choose Fowler. I’m not going to even dream about getting Justin Upton. But if the Braves are going to move forward without Chipper I think Gordon is a move in the right direction.
And anyone posting about acquiring Greinke, everyone has a dream.
braves fan in queens
December 4th, 20122:09 pm
I keep thinking about the Hanson for Walden trade… Our bullpen was already stacked. Now its without doubt the best bullpen in the bigs. Besides the previously mentioned incentive of salary dump, the incentives asserted by Wren seem incomplete. Any possible way we turn Walden around and ship him somewhere else in a trade?
Despite Tommy’s troubles and apparent decline, I still think we could have acquired more for him.
December 4th, 20122:55 pm
Nick Swisher is my first choice. He brings a postive, loose, “Let’s win!” mentality to the clubhouse. He can hit, field, and throw.
December 4th, 20122:56 pm
December 4th, 20127:50 pm
I see no one woke up Wren still asleep. Talk about a man that is worthless.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
