Braves will look for LF at Winter Meetings

Come on people, stop with the “I can’t understand how the braves are not in on this player or Wren isn’t talking to this team.” None of knows every team Wren is talking to or every player he has had and is having discussions about. You are complaining about something you don’t know about. None of knows every or even a 1/3 of the discussions he is having.

Trade Julio Terhan and Delgado for Justin Upton and Put O’flerty as a starter that can only go 5 innings until Beachy comes back. You have to brothers on the same team, then they will start to like the surroundings of Atlanta; possibly win use a world series and get us a little extra cash for the team. More people will come to the game to see them hit in the same lineup and those people will buy food therefore you’ll be making money and sets you up for the next few years. People dont really come to the game when those to guys pitch anyways, they wanna see medlen or hudson but now they have something new to watch brothers. So it sets us up for the future to bring in more star players in which we will win more world series!

Mr. Pitts.. not sure who you are referring to as the Cheeto’s eating fat guys and who are the guys chasing Amber down?

I simply noticed on the blog that one of them said Amber Girl is now Angel Eyes. Don’t really care if Amber is a girl or some guy in a recliner. I just thought it was funny that she said she was signing off for sleepy time every night around 7 or 8 p.m. I have friends in Australia and know when I talk to them that’s around noon their time. Just thought it was interesting the someone who should be in school was going to sleep at noon every day. Just made several of us think that Amber was probably just a fictional character some dude made up for laughs…

If we can get J.Upton without giving up Simmons then its simple and plan what the Braves should do. Pagan just make Shane V. a couple extra millions hopefully not to much cuz the guy plays hard and play the game the right way. He got speed a lil pop and good defence. What more could you ask for he should be the braves second choice. hands down

Yea I hear ya Sporty, but all we can do is wait and see. No need to freak out about something that hasn’t happened yet. TRUST ME….I would love for J-Upton or something along those lines…..intrigued with Wil Myers and Alex Gordon. We’ll have to wait and see what happens. I’m not gonna cruicfy the man though. For all we know he’s real close to a blockbuster as I type this or one was taken away from him because of a trade falling through. There is a lot more going on behind the scenes than good ol Frank standing pat to placate the fan base.

I agree with most of the sentiments here though….we can’t rely n Schafer or Constanzas IMO. Gattisis an interesting wild card, but we don’t know what we have yet. J-Upton would be a xmas gift, but Myers or Gordon would be nice stocking stuffers as well. Hopefully a deal is made and gives us fans something to blog more about. The Cody Ross’s and Ichiro’s of the world simply don’t get me excited.

@Golden Sombreros: I’m not advocating the lynching of Frank Wren, I’m simply voicing my opinion on these matters. I would also love to have J. Upton become a Brave, but I doubt Arizona will accept anything less than Simmons. Of course, most would hate losing Simmons, especially after what we have seen Andrus go on to do with Texas. Myers seems like our best bet, in my opinion, only because the package for him wouldn’t require Simmons. Again, the Braves aren’t going to run out of quality arms, they’re always developing.

everyone seems to miss what is going on in Nashville, it is a fishing expedition, gms are fishing for the best deal they can get, the more desperate a team is the more they are willing to give away, and the smart gm like the good fisherman will dangle the right bait and wait for the right fish to bite

The Braves messed up when they overpaid for B.J Upton. They should have signed free agent Shane Victorino for center and then traded for Justin Upton for left. This way they would have gotten to good players and had money left for Grenkie. But that didn’t happen so it is what it is. Good luck Wren

Please, Mr. Wren, do NOT sign Victorino, Ichiro, or any other over priced player who is on his last leg! We don’t need to dumpster dive anymore Frankie! How about an internal option? How about we trade or sign another big fish instead of catching a whole bunch of old decaying minnows?

I keep thinking about the Hanson for Walden trade… Our bullpen was already stacked. Now its without doubt the best bullpen in the bigs. Besides the previously mentioned incentive of salary dump, the incentives asserted by Wren seem incomplete. Any possible way we turn Walden around and ship him somewhere else in a trade?

Despite Tommy’s troubles and apparent decline, I still think we could have acquired more for him.
