Royals manager Ned Yost suggested that outfielder Wil Myers — Baseball America’s Minor League Player of the Year in 2012 after hitting 37 homers in Double-A and Triple-A as a 21-year-old — reminds him of a young Dale Murphy, the former Braves center fielder and two-time NL MVP. He suggested that like Murphy, Myers has 30-plus homer potential. Kansas City plans to let him compete for an everyday job in spring training.

Change it with one of Hamilton tomorrow, then one of Greinke wednesday!

And see if you can photoshop a Braves’ uniform on all of them!

Wren said he doesn’t know if Braves will be able to trade for a LF (or sign one, though said free agents on their list now are below trade targets). But said if don’t make a move, have some players in-house who could be interesting to watch compete for a spot in spring, such as Constanza and Gattis in left or Francisco at 3B (and let Prado stay in LF at least part of the time).

That makes me want to PUKE!

and with Pagan’s deal being lowered that expected (at least lower than I thought) will Victorino’s price have to come down then?

You have to start somewhere with doing the right thing. Plus, I think PEDs gave those players much more of an advantage than amphetamines ever could. Upton, Gordon, Myers are–for different reason–the cream of the crop. Choo is a notch below.

After that, from among the plausible candidates, we get into territory where it is unclear that we are upgrading enough over what we have on hand, to justify the trade price.

I just hope Wren is still in the mix on these top guys.

At 3B, they guys that get me all hot and bothered are Olt, Gyorko, and, of course, Headley. So 3 or 4 at LF, and 3 at 3B. Hope we don’t settle for someone else.
