People were decent about it on both sides. Well, with the usual exception. But it’s obvious he just can’t help himself and doesn’t think our petty rules should apply to him.
within the states I meant. The big cities vote Dem and the rural parts vote Rep. of course there are some exceptions but state after state map they showed indicated much of that split.
I think polarization is becoming a bigger problem and makes it harder to get things accomplished between parties.
I’m an independent and I like some things of each and don’t like some things of each so I really got no axe to grind about the election. I agree with many of the commentators though that embracing the Tea Party as much as they did hurt them. Said that it was likely over when he named Ryan and campaigned for some Congressman like Mourdock.
oh well, at least its over, and even though I’m not really banging a drum here I hope it isn’t over the line. If it is just delete it.
Just do not see that happening Pack, he will be getting expensive soon and has been a kinda every other year hitter to some extent. I also don’t see that we match up all that well with them, but one never knows, do one?
I have been voting for a long time, and this is the first time that I voted for the candidate who won the state in which I reside…(I will admit that my first vote was reprehensibly stupid)…
Bat – I think I have convinced myself that I did vote that way – what a moron – my first vote was for the winner in NY, but I have so castigated myself for that I clearly try to change the memory of what I did…
well they don’t always work out the way you think. Jimmy Carter is probably the best man I ever knew, but he didn’t get it done especially in foreign affairs. Just too damn nice IMO
It’s fine noles, I can take the ribbings. I do deserve them much of the time anyway. I’ve learned to cope with my life though.
Just disappointed that the work I helped with (which caused my schoolwork to slightly suffer) is wasted. A very empty and lonely feeling. Hopeless. Glad it’s over though.
Life goes on, it’ll all be okay. At least I hope so. My life will improve.
George was an institution in the South in those days, even after he was shot he held great power, but things eventually started to change
course George renounced much of that near the end of his lafe saying he didn’t wanna meet his maker with those sins on his soul, or some such anyway
I actually got a recorded message from the RNC to go vote at 6:55 p.m. I already had of course. What a waste of good money. At least all those negative ads made the race in Va. too close to call until tomorrow. KUDOS to Va. for not slamming the doors in people’s faces at 7:00 p.m. and withholding results for an hour and a half so all people still standfing in line could vote without influence from the running tabulation in the media.
I don’t want to hear no shyt about a mandate. We’re a split nation. Let’s see what this guy can do with 4 more years. I hope he moves to the center, but I am not optimistic.
Gives a whole new meaning to that old JOHN DENVER song doesn’t it? Tokers of the state rejoice. BTW, could you believe that weed is legal in Va. for medicinal purposes only.
Although we (my side) reaped the benefits of the EC a couple of elections back, I have never understood the need for the EC. It cheapens the votes of many folks on a national level.
For me and VJ, it doesn’t matter which President we want, our vote doesn’t really count.
I’d like to see some changes to eliminate the EC. (Even if Obama gets the popular vote this time)
I have been in Utah for the past 10.5 years now. Was in SC before that. Spent 15 years in California in the 70’s and 80’s. So I’ve been around a bit. Was even in that bastion of liberalness of Illinois for a couple of years. Too many damned unions there though! You can’t wipe your azz in Illinois without having a union member present.

Florida doesn’t even matter tonight. It’s over without their results.
looking at the maps it is obvious that the country is continuing its previous rural/urban split
