on the bright side a neurologist from northwestern univ has found the common denominator in all als patients/ a gene that produces too much ubiliquin 2 protein that gets in the pathway of the brain sending signals to the muscles. so once they know where the problem is who knows they may be able to fix me yet
November 6th, 201211:13 pm
actually it might not even be close enuff to need Fla
November 6th, 201211:14 pm
Hang in there, gary.
Dead beat dad Joe Walsh goes down. I guess he’ll have to find another job to have his wages garnished to support his kids, now.
Congratulations to President Obama!
November 6th, 201211:15 pm
Damn I sure hope it works for you Gary, and the new discoveries develop in time. Good luck
Chipper's Southern Bell
November 6th, 201211:16 pm
Like hell yeah
November 6th, 201211:23 pm
course with provisional ballots in some states this might drag on for days
Florida doesn’t even matter tonight. It’s over without their results.
looking at the maps it is obvious that the country is continuing its previous rural/urban split
Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio?
November 6th, 201211:26 pm
Thanks for the political-pass for this night, DOB.
November 6th, 201211:27 pm
I got a hunch that Wren really makes a play for Justin Upton. Just a feeling and maybe I’m wrong but that is the guy he goes after for a trade to get a power bat in the OF.
November 6th, 201211:32 pm
Karl Rove ain’t having any of it.
November 6th, 201211:35 pm
Thanks for the political-pass for this night, DOB. — Bobby H
People were decent about it on both sides. Well, with the usual exception. But it’s obvious he just can’t help himself and doesn’t think our petty rules should apply to him.
November 6th, 201211:36 pm
within the states I meant. The big cities vote Dem and the rural parts vote Rep. of course there are some exceptions but state after state map they showed indicated much of that split.
I think polarization is becoming a bigger problem and makes it harder to get things accomplished between parties.
I’m an independent and I like some things of each and don’t like some things of each so I really got no axe to grind about the election. I agree with many of the commentators though that embracing the Tea Party as much as they did hurt them. Said that it was likely over when he named Ryan and campaigned for some Congressman like Mourdock.
oh well, at least its over, and even though I’m not really banging a drum here I hope it isn’t over the line. If it is just delete it.
November 6th, 201211:39 pm
Just do not see that happening Pack, he will be getting expensive soon and has been a kinda every other year hitter to some extent. I also don’t see that we match up all that well with them, but one never knows, do one?
November 6th, 201211:41 pm
kinda tried to cut Wayne a break tonight, and as disappointed as I know he must be I thought he stayed pretty cool
November 6th, 201211:43 pm
I have been voting for a long time, and this is the first time that I voted for the candidate who won the state in which I reside…(I will admit that my first vote was reprehensibly stupid)…
November 6th, 201211:44 pm
I’ve had a bad fall starting with the Brabes collapse. Personal issues as well. Thank God for the Falcons and Dawgs…..
Very disappointed. I could cry.
that was pretty much guaranteed when you moved to Ca, right?
November 6th, 201211:46 pm
sorry to hear that TOBF, I guess I should tease you a bit less. not TOO much less though you understand
(I will admit that my first vote was reprehensibly stupid)… — Venice Jim
November 6th, 201211:47 pm
Best of luck to you gary
Thank goodness it’s over.
November 6th, 201211:48 pm
Bat – I think I have convinced myself that I did vote that way – what a moron – my first vote was for the winner in NY, but I have so castigated myself for that I clearly try to change the memory of what I did…
November 6th, 201211:50 pm
Watching these cats on Fox is a trip.
I mean Bobby…
Sorry, VJ, I didn’t read that carefully, enough. Mario???
November 6th, 201211:51 pm
Bobby – no, I screwed up because what I should have said is that this is the first vote (which I do not regret…i.e. ‘72) blah blah blah…
November 6th, 201211:52 pm
Hugh Carey (sp?)
November 6th, 201211:53 pm
November 6th, 201211:54 pm
Yeah, Bat, I’m thinkin’ state dude… he voted for Nixon
November 6th, 201211:56 pm
That’s OK, VJ, so did everyone else, back then
well they don’t always work out the way you think. Jimmy Carter is probably the best man I ever knew, but he didn’t get it done especially in foreign affairs. Just too damn nice IMO
I might be the only person in history who went to William and Mary and got liberalized…(well, me and my buddy Jon Stewart)…
November 6th, 201211:57 pm
I believe I covered BOTH sides of the ‘72 election. I HAVE to be right one of those times!
November 6th, 201211:59 pm
It’s fine noles, I can take the ribbings. I do deserve them much of the time anyway. I’ve learned to cope with my life though.
Just disappointed that the work I helped with (which caused my schoolwork to slightly suffer) is wasted. A very empty and lonely feeling. Hopeless. Glad it’s over though.
Life goes on, it’ll all be okay. At least I hope so. My life will improve.
November 7th, 201212:01 am
I was in Plains the night Carter was elected. Had a good time, drank some beers with Billy, and some cutie pie reporter ladies from Europe.
November 7th, 201212:07 am
Billy would drink beer with anybody…..
November 7th, 201212:08 am
I volunteered for Carters campaign for Gov against Lester “pick handle” Maddox and then for the first Presidency campaign
November 7th, 201212:11 am
Still he was in good company that night.
November 7th, 201212:13 am
I was too young for all that but I remember Lester.
November 7th, 201212:14 am
well sure with the cutie pie reporters….. and you of course
SS NICK AHMED [.300 BA] 0-4, 1 BB.
RHRP CORY RASMUS [9.58 ERA] 1.0 IP, 1 H, clean.
November 7th, 201212:15 am
Well, at least the election is finally over.
yeah ol’ Lester wanted to be the Ga version of George Wallace.
November 7th, 201212:17 am
I bet my phone calls go down 50% or more now. thank goodness
November 7th, 201212:18 am
Oh yeah, I was just a kid but I remember Wallace and the Dixiecrats, too. He had a lot of support whereI lived in middle Ga then.
November 7th, 201212:19 am
My phone calls stopped a few days after I mailed my ballot in – I should have done so much sooner…
November 7th, 201212:22 am
November 6th, 2012
What are the rules if the vote is too close in Florida? Automatic recount if they are within a half a point? Not sure……”
Heh! Hanging chads will rule. God, i hope they’ve upgraded the voting process down there in south Florida.
November 7th, 201212:23 am
George was an institution in the South in those days, even after he was shot he held great power, but things eventually started to change
course George renounced much of that near the end of his lafe saying he didn’t wanna meet his maker with those sins on his soul, or some such anyway
November 7th, 201212:26 am
they won’t even need Fl this time
November 7th, 201212:27 am
I actually got a recorded message from the RNC to go vote at 6:55 p.m. I already had of course. What a waste of good money. At least all those negative ads made the race in Va. too close to call until tomorrow. KUDOS to Va. for not slamming the doors in people’s faces at 7:00 p.m. and withholding results for an hour and a half so all people still standfing in line could vote without influence from the running tabulation in the media.
November 7th, 201212:30 am
GATTIS and MEJIA get a night off.
November 7th, 201212:31 am
we got messages from Michelle, Barack, Bill and Mitt today. never felt so powerful
November 7th, 201212:33 am
‘Lil’ George was getting too close to the presidency for the oligarchy that runs the country to stomach.
Of course, all my calls were for Torrance candidates – no one worried about the presidency here…
November 7th, 201212:34 am
Heh! And where will they be when you need them? Will your phone ring then?
November 7th, 201212:35 am
yeah oligarchy. then why did he recant?
November 7th, 201212:36 am
Hey VJ, VCU will finish among the elite in the A-10 this season in round-ball.
I hope not rich, I’m pretty tired of all of them….
well I’m off I guess. y’all take care
richbrave – Wash Post and NY Times both now have Virginia to the incumbent…
It’s amazing that the popular vote is so close, at least at this time – 25k
Legalized pot in Colorado
November 7th, 201212:37 am
He didn’t want to meet his maker with innocent blood on his hands I guess.
November 7th, 201212:38 am
richbrave – VCU is dead to me…
Unless they make the tourney – then I might forgive them…
November 7th, 201212:39 am
Or if the Tribe miraculously emerges from the 7 teams eligible to win the CAA this year…
I don’t want to hear no shyt about a mandate. We’re a split nation. Let’s see what this guy can do with 4 more years. I hope he moves to the center, but I am not optimistic.
November 7th, 201212:40 am
It’s so funny to me that Fox has one of the biggest spenders in the election as an analyst.
November 7th, 201212:41 am
Gives a whole new meaning to that old JOHN DENVER song doesn’t it? Tokers of the state rejoice. BTW, could you believe that weed is legal in Va. for medicinal purposes only.
Colorado is becoming California-East.
There will be a lot of complaining about the Electoral College votes again this year I bet
November 7th, 201212:42 am
Legalized pot in Colorado — Bat Masterson
Colorado – Rocky Mountain High?
If Romney had moved toward the center he would have done better than he did.
November 7th, 201212:43 am
weren’t yopu once a resident somewhere between CALIF and COLO?
I’m all for ending the war on drugs, Wayne.
November 7th, 201212:44 am
It is over, so no use any of us getting thrown off over it now.
I will cease and desist.
O.K. later I’ll put up results from down south of the border. NYTOL.
November 7th, 201212:45 am
There will be a lot of complaining about the Electoral College votes again this year I bet — Half Empty
Yep – except this will be the other side’s turn
November 7th, 201212:46 am
Goodnight rich, and thanks for your diligent work on our behalf.
Although we (my side) reaped the benefits of the EC a couple of elections back, I have never understood the need for the EC. It cheapens the votes of many folks on a national level.
For me and VJ, it doesn’t matter which President we want, our vote doesn’t really count.
I’d like to see some changes to eliminate the EC. (Even if Obama gets the popular vote this time)
But what do I know……….
November 7th, 201212:48 am
It is over, so no use any of us getting thrown off over it now. — Half Empty
November 7th, 201212:50 am
I have been in Utah for the past 10.5 years now. Was in SC before that. Spent 15 years in California in the 70’s and 80’s. So I’ve been around a bit. Was even in that bastion of liberalness of Illinois for a couple of years. Too many damned unions there though! You can’t wipe your azz in Illinois without having a union member present.
November 7th, 201212:53 am
Would be nice if FW would bring us back a prize from the GM meetings.
November 7th, 201212:58 am
The popular vote will not end up as close as it appears now – still less than 20% of California in…
November 7th, 20121:04 am
True, VJ, once the LEFT coast comes in…
True, VJ, once the LEFT coast results come in…
November 7th, 20121:05 am
Damn! I stopped it before it left! (There’s that word, again)
November 7th, 20121:07 am
Jim. 51/49 or 52/48 is not a mandate.
November 7th, 20121:09 am
Well Bush claimed it was.
November 7th, 20121:11 am
Anyway, good concession speech from Romney. Short and to the point.
Good for him
November 7th, 20121:13 am
Never said otherwise…
November 7th, 20121:15 am
Lester was not the radical Governor most folks thought he would be, he actually did a decent job for the times.
November 7th, 20121:16 am
Those pollsters were pretty accurate, tonight… I wish one of them was my local weatherman.
November 7th, 20121:20 am
I can’t remember when I have been so profoundly sad for my children.
November 7th, 20121:22 am
Get a good night’s sleep, Wayne.
One of the guys I follow called 332 for Bronco Bama last night.
Nate Had 313
They turned out the vote better than many thought they would.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
