Please don’t do what you accuse ‘OB of; we’ve talked before, no?

Real quick, before I respond to the rest – Please understand this and I really hold you in high regard, in no f!cking way is what I wrote back to you what O’Brien did to me earlier. Nada, bud. Pretty clear as day and YOU need to take the time to brush up on your reading comprehension if you don’t see that.

Maybe I called him less than a #3 starter, but I absolutely didn’t keep up with that into 2010 when his velocity spiked and he was missing more bats than anyone ever expected and despite your saying it’s not about strategy – that’s what the 750 posts about Minor were mostly about – unless you can’t take a joke and get the Polished and Signable thing.

I guess having a strong opinion on something equals “black and white” and if that truly is the definition, than no comment made on here is with “gray area”. And honestly, if I did say he was a #4/5 starter at best – then I needed to be EVEN MORE critical of the move as it’s as stupid as stupid gets to draft a player with that sort of ceiling in the Top 10. Man, I need to be much more harsh in my draft criticism in the future then, which I know you will enjoy. ;)

Efrim got a little shot today from O’Brien (mistakenly) and Lew was poking the bear yesterday, so he may be a little paranoid, is all.

He’s gotta read the blog and take it in and understand who he is talking to.

I’ve gotten into it will nolie before and I really to this day feel terrible about it. Sort of the type of guy I am, hard to let it go. I won’t do that again. There is a fine line between disagreement and coming out of nowhere to clothesline someone like what happened earlier to me this morning and yesterday(which folks are entitled to do since it’s a blog……. but yes, I consider some folks here who I’ve talked with here to be my friend and disagreements need to be handled in the right way.

But, I don’t how that works. VJ and cab were friends for years, and one post turned me despicable and cowardly, so, your call.

Two regs is too many, BAS. I don’t think you are cowardly or despicable – but in this case(and that’s #3, I guess) you are about as short on your delivery as Shaq is with his free throws. And maybe you don’t care or get it – as I didn’t with noles – but there is a way to go about things and I don’t think wordsmithing will do it in this case.

You’ve made like one comment to me in the last year, and the only one was about Minor and the draft….so to come out today, and again do so, well, clearly there isn’t as much “love of my posts” from you. And that’s okay. It is. Still love when YOU do post and it isn’t as much. So maybe if you post more and disagree with me more – it won’t look and feel like a chair to the back of the head while I’m about to get a 3 count. ;)

But here’s the thing. Detroit traded him, in part, because of concerns about his health. And, in fact, they were eventually proven correct. But, meantime, the guy delivered, what, 40-odd wins to the Braves? For a trade cost of basically zip. They got their money’s worth and more. It’s distressing that he won’t deliver more value to the Braves, I agree, but I can’t feel bad about what value they did get.

Fair-enough, Ef.

I don’t really engage in the day-to-day. I just sit back and learn, and then comment when I have a question/issue that somebody hasn’t already raised, or ramble when I’m drunk. Please don’t think that because I don’t engage regularly with you, I’m not reading and appreciating it all.

The ‘OB line was simply about knowing your audience. I would contend you oughta know me as well as ‘OB oughta know you. So again, I realize it’s ceiling, I may even agree with your position on the draft-strategy, my issue is with you saying the whole world had him a three. That is not true.

“Two regs is too many.”

This is my worry. Clearly it’s a me problem if several take issue. I’m just afraid my way is always going to be too direct, too short, as you call it. I’m lazy, typing blows, and my vocabulary is limited. So, just assume I drop a drunken’ “I frickin’ love you, man” in front of every comment. (This applies to virtually all of you. )

Bonus points for the Shaq-line, and for saying “Maybe I called him less than a #3 starter.” That’s really all I was looking for.

This is different. I challenge you to “Randomize” – I like that – when you’ve last commented on a post of mine. I’d guarantee it was regarding Minor and the draft. So you must see how that might be taken from me, no?

I’m just afraid my way is always going to be too direct, too short, as you call it.

Well, I can’t help you there. I’m not aware of the details of your, Venice Jim and cabravesfan’s issues as it was probably long ago and overnight and I just can’t recall it.

But I will say, when another regular(and a person I’d consider a friend) comes out of nowhere(and I’d consider you coming out of nowhere today) and uses the type of Peter Moylan delivery(in a bad way, of course) on an issue such as the one that was discussed as aggressively as it was – then eyebrows will be raised. I’m okay. Really, I am. But it’s sort of weird, is all. And not like a daily, run of the mill disagreement.

That’s really all I was looking for.

Could of been obtained in a different way, I think.

some of us post more “forcefully” than others for want of a better term, we tend to draw flak

Unfortunately, and I don’t want the non-regulars to be offended, it’s just ………different when it’s to someone with you have history with. From what I recall, the concerns were over his shoulder/arm, not his knee. They were “proven correct” if the sentiment was merely “We think he will be injured one day.” But then, that wouldn’t be news. You could say that about every single pitcher out there. Even Halladay eventually ran into an injury. When followed through with their concerns, they were never actually proven correct. His knee broke down on him before his shoulder had a chance to ruin his career.
