Gattis should get a long look in ST.
In fact, he should be allowed to decide if he is ready and where he wants to play.

GM Mike Hill, president Larry Beinfest, Miami Marlins
It is a difficult situation when you’re the general manager of a ballclub, but not really the general manager, or when you’re the president of a ballclub, but not really the president. Essentially, owner Jeffrey Loria calls the shots on all personnel decisions and managers, and Ozzie Guillen was the latest casualty. Don’t be surprised if outspoken outfielder Logan Morrison is next.
Morrison had his best year in 10 but might be worth a look in LF @ 24 years old.

Braves have up until 5 days after the WS to make a qualifying offer to Bourn, and he has up until 12 days after the WS to accept or reject it.
I don’t know for sure, but I’d think if he rejects the offer, that it is taken off the table, unless of course the team wanted to leave an open offer out to him in that amount as a free agent. Otherwise, the team would be held up in pursuing other alternatives.
So by next Friday we should know if Bourn will be back or not. I highly doubt FW gets into an extended bidding war for his services. I’d think FW would make him a multiyear offer, and Boras will reject it immediately, if not sooner.
Bourn probably won’t get signed until near the end of December or early January, if it goes the way most of Boras’ negotiations go for his top talent.
Does he have anyone bigger than Bourn this year?

I always wonder a bit why the “below his career slash line” isn’t changed to reflect what he had done prior to that year? I see this in articles all over the place so it isn’t that I’m playing “gotcha” or anything.
For instance, McCann’s career slash line now, after that season, is .279/.351/.475, but he entered that season hitting .286/.358/.486 and proceeded to hit way below that line, — TennPaul
I agree. Usually it’s done that way because it’s easier than finding a player’s stats before season began.
Glad you brought it up. I just went back into story and changed it, put in his slash line before the 2012 season. Thanks for pointing it out.

Maybe. But there aren’t many other RH bangers out there with Willingham’s friendly contract. What if the Twins say “no thanks” on that one? A war chest might allow them to target a big contract that already exists on another team, reducing the cost in trade. Just a possibility, is all.

I love the idea of a trade for Span. So, there’s $5mil. More if you can get them to take Hanson as part of the deal.
Put Gattis in LF, sink or swim, trade Hanson and Delgado or whoever to the Twins for Span, then use the extra cash to go get Greinke.
Win with pitching and defense (so long as they don’t hit the ball to LF) and a pretty good offense.

McCann would have to stay healthy and produce to merit consideration for a new, long-term deal. But I’m sure McCann would look for a five-year deal. I’m leery of locking up a catcher who has an injury history into his mid-thirties.

What team needs pitching? We need to get them involved in a 3 way for Upton.
We need our old buddy Robert (no, not that one, the other one) to cook up one of his famous eight-way trades for us.

Not bashing you at all for it….I mean I brought up bringing in Ian Kinsler for 3b…
Besides, Soriano is not the worst option I ever heard of

Haven’t tried WWE yet as I am still at work, but it got good reviews. I guess it’s the biggest roster yet with a lot of old timers. I’ll let you know tomorrow if my son gives me a chance to play otherwise I’ll ask him what he thinks, but not sure how much we can trust a 9 year old reviewer, they get frustrated easily.
I too bought all the old Assassins Creed games for cheap and have to play/finish any but the newest one interests me the most as the setting is in early America and you get to assassinate the red coats with a tomahawk. Pretty cool storyline especially for us Braves fans.

Cmon now….you gotta love the 8 way trade
Oh…btw….were you here when someone on here pointed their finger at me and said they thought I was Robert…..now THAT was funny….sad….disturbing….and a BAD insult all wrapped into one!

Would you deal Simmons for Upton?
I wouldn’t. Just too much potential in that kid, and not much behind him in the minors.
Besides, such a trade might cause Frank to envision a return of Alex Gonzalez.

Trade Hanson to the Twins for Span. Move Prado back to 3B and try to trade for Justin Upton or Josh Willingham to play LF.
Hanson for Span… that’s funny (from the side blog)
DS1: At it again I see! Simmons stays.

Would you deal Simmons for Upton?
And go with Janish at SS, knowing you’re going to get basically zero offensive production? No. And Pastornicky is not an option.

Alex Gonzalez IS a free agent,Frank will probably bring him in as our ‘premium” 3B.

Well, that was the only year he started consistently. His overall numbers aren’t that great (due to lack of playing time) .421/.719
I was using your numbers. Like I said, some people don’t take into consideration a young player. Some young players regress because they have played every day their entire life. Change in training and playing time and amounts affects some players more than others.
Plus playing for the Marlins is anything but stablility.

BP-
I’m just curious about the Universe Mode as I play that the most….I know it has Attitude story mode and thats gotten the most pub for obvious reasons, but I hear they’ve added to Universe mode and I just couldn’t put that down for months after I got it.
I’m also deep into Uncharted 3 still as well for my PS3….bar none, BEST PS gaming series out there and possibly best story mode in all of gaming.

Who would you deal Simmons for? (or as part of a package)
McCutchen?
Braun?
I’d deal him if the right bat came back. Then move some pitching to get a SS.
Don’t get me wrong folks. I love Simmons. But he’s not untouchable if I’m the GM.
Just sayin…….
