It’s scary to me when folks think there’s not much of a difference between the two sides. There is a lot at stake here. Our founding fathers would not recognize the republic that they set up.

there is too much difference IMO. polarization of the process gets worse and worse, one of the results being that the elected individuals will not work together enough to ge much accomplished at all

Efrim Chipper Jones has retired and Brian McCann’s potential future in Atlanta will likely be limited to the 2013 season. (Bowman)

Bowman has always been strongly on the side that McCann will not return to Atlanta after 2013. I think it’s way too early to have a strong opinion one way or the other.

He really bugs me in that respect. Yeah, he acts like no way BMac will be coming back after next year, and that’s just a little on the irritating side…But I think last Fall Bowman had a bit of a crush going with Bethancourt, so I think he’s thinking he’s gonna be Johnny Bench come 2014, and BMac will be some old, broken-down catcher who wants all this money, and frankly—personal favoritism bias aside—I just do not think that will be the case.

The thing I have enjoyed the most about this years iteration….

They brought the co-op mode back that made ASB so awesome…..

And other than screaming my head off at a friend for missing a flyball in a franchise game its been pretty good

Bethancourt has a great arm and throws well and he is pretty athletic for his size, but from what I hear from guys who see him regularly he is still not all that good a defensive catcher overall and his bat is very questionable as to whether he hits much at all in the show

DS1 – I see clear differences between both parties, but that doesn’t mean I like either of them or what they have come to represent (both are steeped in special interest dollars).

Yeah Nolie, I’m a wasted vote. I’m boycotting the two major parties.

So he says. We’ll see. It’d prolong his career for sure. We can’t have him play 1B often like Posey does cuz of Freeman. I don’t know if Mac can play LF. He probably has another 3-4 good years behind the plate… if he’s willing to take less to stay here, great. He may do that, being a hometown kid and all.

Probably the biggest reasons to vote for president are court appointments (especially the supreme court) and foreign policy, because those are ares where the president and the president alone, pretty much, holds a great deal of power. Not much difference on foreign policy but the court appointments could really differentiate the two candidates at some point, perhaps in the distant future, perhaps sooner. That’s all I’m saying about politics.

I see that as kinda different though McFann… the team gave him a guaranteed contract, buying out his pre-arb and arb years, + 1 of free agency. That was a security move it seemed. Thing is McFann, nothing against you, but he simply hasn’t gotten good enough at any point behind the plate to continue to be a C if he goes to an AL team, which he more than likely will….

Team friendly deals are one thing, but I frankly can’t even see the Braves going anywhere near what Yadi is gonna get from the Cardinals, and given the rather small market for players of Mac’s caliber, C or DH, I think someone will more than float him enough cash to say goodbye to the Braves….

I don’t agree w/ Bowman on everything or even most of what he says, but we have had extensive discussions about this and I agree that Mac most likely walks after 2013 whether the Braves offer an extension or not

2014 salaries: Miguel Montero 10mil; Joe Mauer 23mil; Molina 15mil

I bet Mac wants to be between Molina and Mauer, assuming he has a career norm season. Not sure if the Braves would go that high, esp. not for more than 3 years. Is Molina’s D worth the extra 4-5mil over what Mac may get from the Braves? Mac may not feel that way. Or he may be charitable and take the paycut. It’d be great if he does, we’ll have to start paying Freeman and Hey soon…

Bmac decision will be an easy one.

Bmac will be a Brave next year because the Braves have no other real option for a team that still wants to try and win. And I think they want to do that. Ross can’t play every day assuming he comes back and I gotta believe if Rossy is assured Bmac will be back he will return also. BCourt is not ready yet.

Then if he has a good rehab and has a year like he has always had before this last one they will sign him again. If he isn’t the same guy as he was before this year, he’ll be done in Atlanta and it’ll be a sad day for the Braves but if he can’t get it done thats what’ll need to happen.

FYI all cyclist use enhancements or they could not do what they do..

They could do what they do, but maybe not quite as fast. The average pro biker works harder in a month that a MLB player does in a year. I really don’t know how they do it now but they used to draw a litre of blood a month or so before a major competion and freeze it. The body restrored the lost litre and then a day or two before the competion, they would add the extra that they drew a month before.

It was like a turbo charger in the body with more blood to carry more oxygen to the muscles. But those racers put out performances that went far beyond what other sports do as far as effort..
