the bad thing about the Giants winning is I have to listen to all the people in my area talk about Posey being the man…he is one if not the best overall catcher going today no doubt but still…the dream in s ga is he will sign will the braves when he becomes a free agent…good luck on that one…don’t see the braves dishing out the money he is going to be valued

Maybe Bourn at 5/$70MM looks less outrageous as time goes on. If Pagan and Upton and the like are going to get eight figures (and the Braves are willing to go there), then Bourn’s relative value vs relative cost looks worth the extra money.

Bourn at $108M/6 doesn’t look fabulous next to anything. There is absolutely no condition which makes Bourn being the first Braves player ever to be given $100M+ contract look good.

You’re missing out. Things got a lot better after the first half of the 2nd season. These first two episodes of Season 3 have been incredible.

I have been thinking all along that the Braves would spend big on one of the outfielders but not so much on the second one.
All along I have thought they would go cheap on CF.
Maybe, if Gattis has their attention, they will go cheap in LF (Greg Dobbs, Reed Johnson, Martin Prado and Juan Francisco is a 4 way platoon in LF/3B) and send some money on Bourn in CF.
Should be an interesting game of chess.
Especially when so many teams have similar needs and $$$$ to spend!

I just can’t imagine him signing for that “little”.
Five years, $75 million is the floor and I think he’ll get more than that. Crazy money out there this winter. Near every team with lots to spend and enough teams with a need in CF – Nationals, Giants, Phillies, Rangers, White Sox…
